《Rain Revert》Chapter 49: [ Enter the Cave again ]

Due to the Snow Wolf King’s intrusion, Princess Leticia decided to halt the journey and rest.
In any case, they had just experienced an intense battle.
As Rain remained bewildered about the sudden revelation of his life, Alba sat down on the ground in front of him. She opened her large mouth and yawned. Scratching its neck with a hind leg, she appeared to be bored.
She was doing all this while keeping her eyes on him. Seeing Rain still hasn’t recovered, Alba stretched out its body like a cat and lay down at its location.
“Hey,”
“Y, Yes?” Rain was startled by Alba calling him.
“Tell me the place where you grow up,” Alba asked with a gentle tone.
“The, the place…” Rain was still feeling conflicted about his identity. If what the wolf said is real then, isn’t him being a member of the Aquarian Clan also true? “Ye, yeah, the place…”
Are his real parents… there?
Now that’s something he wanted to know…
Rain turned his gaze towards Alba and sighed. She claimed to be his mother and she doesn’t seem to be holding any kind of hostility towards him.
In the animal kingdom, Wolves are the most family-oriented animals. They have a strong emotional connection to each of the members of their family. And even if they are now monsters, animal instincts should still be the same…
Rain sighed and decided to accept the truth. He wasn’t a narrow-minded person, to begin with, in fact, he was an extremely open-minded person that can accept and adapt to any kind of situation that is presented to him.
If not, he would have died long ago. He stood up and walked towards Alba, sitting beside her.
“I was thrown into an another world,” He started. He replied honestly.
It should be good to have some kind of ally in this world since he doesn’t know what kind of family he really has… if he had that is.
And as what kind of future awaits him, he doesn’t know… At least he wanted a reliable ally…
“Oh!?” Alba raised her head and stared at Rain’s face, surprised.
“It was world called Earth… fortunately; it wasn’t dangerous as this place. No monsters and demons, of course, it wasn’t a paradise either. But someone found me and…”

Thus, Rain started narrating his life story.
… …
… …
"... No signs of any enemies ahead."
"Let's advance."
Princess Leticia answered with a gesture after hearing her subordinate’s report.
This was already the entrance of the Cave known as one of the Monster Lairs in the Continent, which was located in the boundary of the Desolate Plain.
Aside from the vigilant soldiers in the front, Rain was happily chatting while riding his supposed to be an adopted mother – which was, in fact, a monster wolf. Rain unexpectedly found out that the Wolf King only lost Rain for a few years. She was a bit surprised that Rain returned as already almost an adult.
There seems to be a time difference from Earth to this world…
At first, Princess Leticia and the others were extremely vigilant at the Wolf King. If not for its power that was considered comparable to 5 – 6 holy knights – though that was an only safe estimate as monster kings can be considered – Disaster class monsters.
Monsters that was capable of destroying a city or a kingdom with ease…
If not for this fact, they would have already captured it or at worst kill it.
However, they had never expected to learn that silver wolf king was extremely an indulgent parent.
If what they heard about her being Rain’s adopted mother then that must have been true. Even princess Leticia can’t help but felt complicated feelings after seeing how the silver king pampered Rain.
She never separated from him.
Even in fights, she would drag him away not caring about their well–being. It wouldn’t even bother to help them fight and instead, if some monster tried to attack Rain, only then she would move instantly killing it.
… …
… ...
At the entrance of the Lair, the wind was surprisingly strong and it carried the faint scent of blood.
It seems like Rain wasn’t the only one who noticed as the princess and the others started slowing down.
“Ah!” One female priest suddenly staggered and cried.
“What happened?” asked one of the men.
“Nothing, I merely tripped on the stone of the ground.” The female said feeling somewhat embarrassed.
As she dusted her robe, she suddenly looked down and started shivering.

The other men did as well. They looked down and in instant, their pupils suddenly shrunk.
There weren’t just stones on the ground; they were also skeletons –probably monsters and humans alike. Not only one, the group discovered that there were countless bones scattered everywhere.
As expected of the Monster Lair… this was one hell of a start for a horror movie.
“Be careful everyone, monsters should be nearby.” Princess Leticia softly said.
They had seen this when they scouted before and indeed there were some monsters appearing time after time. Inside the Monster Lair, one can’t let down their guard even for a moment or it would be fatal!
Swoosh! Swoosh! A cold breeze sent cold chills through the group.
At this moment,
Amid the sounds of wind going in and out of the cave, Rain also heard distant footsteps. Obviously, he wasn’t the only one as every people immediately prepared themselves.
As expected, less than a minute, several monsters appeared. Around 4 – 6 in numbers of obese, two-meter-tall, blue-skinned, two-headed ogres.
The Ogres wielded giant wooden clubs in their hand. Their movements were clumsy and their two heads were looking around endlessly. When they saw the group, their eyes immediately sparkled as if they had seen a high-quality steak!
[ Twin-Headed Ogres ]
It was slightly above common ogres with strength double or triples that of a normal human. They are ranked as Rank 3 monsters even though they were just stupid monsters that don’t how to think; because they made up for it with high vitality and thick skin, giving them dangerous hard defenses!
Coupled with their stupid strength and thick skin they are monsters that are quite a deterrent.
Either way, [ Twin Ogres ] certainly wasn’t easy pickings.
The Ogres immediately rushed towards the group while raising their clubs. They seem to be saying something but the group only heard gurgled noises.
“They said high-quality meats,” Rain said as he translated towards the princess who was standing beside him and Alba.
“You can understand them?!” Princess Leticia asked surprised.
“V!” Rain smiled proudly.
At first, Rain didn’t really notice that he can understand monster language, after all, he doesn’t know what kind of language humans living here uses so, of course, he thought that the Lamias language was the common language in the world but after some teachings from the Lamias, he realized that…
– He was actually speaking a language completely different from that of humanity all these time.
What he was using was the Lamian Language. When he was taught about human language by Zarda and the others, he also found out that he can speak them too… probably due to his [ All Language Comprehension ] – really, it was a cheaty skill~
The Ogres were awkward and clumsy, and it seemed as if they were running slowly due to their large builds and round stomachs that looked they were pregnant. However, their large strides covered quite a bit of distance; thus, they managed to arrive in the front of the group quite early.
“AAAaahhh!!” The warriors and knights immediately engaged while brandishing their weapons.
“#@@#[email protected]#@%%$^!!” An Ogre shouted as he swings his Club while being stabbed by several soldiers. They didn’t even care about dodging.
“He said that, idiots! My skin is thick!” Rain mused.
Princess Leticia frowned as she stole a glance at Rain –he’s still translating??
The fight didn’t last for a long time as warriors and knights are all high-level people. Normal adventurers would find it quite hard to deal with Ogres but for the high-level warriors, it wasn’t a problem.
From what he had seen and observed up until now, Rain had made some rough estimate. The people here should have a level of at least, 3 or 4… at the very least…
That is made from his observation as well as Sylphy’s estimation.
Him as still a Lv1, that was quite pathetic… Well, he was trying to reach all S or above on his status so it should probably be acceptable.
Even now his power and fighting capability were already comparable to that of a Lv2 warrior and with his various abilities and skills… he can at least stand his ground against the weakest Lv3.
So thinking like this, Rain felt comforted…
