Zarda went out of the tent, furious and cold.

Her gaze was then attracted by Lafetti who was sprawled on the ground, bloodshot eyes and was holding her sword. She was cleaning it with ice-cold expression.

After regaining her calm, Lafetti was preparing herself for battle. She was desperate to take back Rain from the Werebats. However, one could still sense the aura of gloom and despair, radiating from her.

She wasn’t different from a beast right now… seemingly calm but was in fact already collapsed inside. Rain’s capture caused a huge blow to her.

Zarda didn’t bother with her and brushed past her, snorting. She walked towards the group of warriors that had gathered. Although she sympathized with her but she was still, in fact, extremely angry at her. She was with him and yet she couldn’t protect him?

Damn it!

If she knows that this would happen, she wouldn’t have let Rain join the hunting group!

“Rain was taken from us!” She started, shouting towards the huge group of warriors.

“… …” These words were like a small spark landing on a puddle of oil as it immediately changed the surrounding into that of a burning hell. Every people wore serious and angry expressions. Killing intent enveloped the entire tribe.

“The accursed Werebats had stepped on our tail… can you forgive them?”

“No!!” A deafening answer echoed through the entire cave.

“Then slaughter!! No matter what happens, take back our Rain even if you flipped the entire lair!” Zarda angrily shouted. “If something happened to him, I will make all of you share the same punishment, do you understand!!?”

“Yes!!”

“Take him back safe and sound! Return him to his home!! To our home!!”

“Yesssss!!!”

And so, the tribe of Lamias set out like an angry mob. They seem to have become blood-thirsty berserkers, walking while brimming with killing intent.

Destination was the Werebats Lair and goal – Slaughter!!

... ...

... ...

Outside the cave.

From a distance, a beautiful music suddenly flew into Rain’s ears. The music was like water drops falling onto a jade plate, like the wind shuttling through a silk curtain.

It was as soft as a bird flapping its wings, as light as a gentle stream flowing through a quiet place. The music was so beautiful, so peaceful as if it flew down from Heaven.

Rain’s eyelashes trembled as he heard the enchanting music. The music was like a soft hand soothing his heart.

... ...

... ...

The first thing Rain felt was the heaviness in his entire -like his body was weighed down by the incredible Hulk.

He doesn't know how long he’s been here or where he was. His arms and legs feel like dirt and he keeps flowing in and out of consciousness. After a long time fighting the sense of nothingness that comes with a deep slumber, he finally breaks through.

What did I…

Everything’s all blurry.

He blinks a few times to clear his vision. His mind was still blank.

…fabric. Probably the inside of a tent he thought as he was currently on his back, looking up at the ceiling. What he saw was like a canopy… a huge tent of some sort.

Where am I?

As he pondered for a bit while looking at his surrounding—his eyes fly open as the memories flood his brain. “Lafetti!!?”

The ambush, the fight, the Werebats appearance and then the moment he was snatched in the air and was bitten by a Werebat. Everything came back at once.

As he recalled what had happened to him, adrenaline starts pumping through his veins. After that, what happened? Was he in the Werebats lair? I need to find out. All of Rain’s muscles fire to help him sit up. Although there was still some slight numbness but he can still able to exert force and stand up.

He took a deep breath and forced himself to remain calm. Surveying the place, he found himself inside a large empty tent… was this the Werebats… lair?

No way! Rain denied his assumption as it was clean, bright and human-esque type shelter, even a bit better than those from the Lamia tribe.

… …!!

Then the sound once again rang out. Rain’s ears perked, a flute…?

Rain once again concluded that this wasn’t the Werebats lair and most of all, judging from the brightness in the area… this can’t possibly be inside the cave. Did he go outside? Just what had happened to him when he passed out?

Focusing completely on his teetering legs, Rain softly dusted himself. Every muscle in his body is complaining, but he can handle it and started walking through the exit. He then lifts the fabric door out of the way.

“Whoa…?!”

Brightness assaulted his eyes and when he finally managed to adjust from the sudden brightness that had not seen or felt for, probably quite a long time already, he surveyed the surroundings.

And what he saw surprised him.

Where he was at, a huge campsite comes into his view.

The place was surrounded by trees, but the forest isn’t that dense here. Tents have been pitched all around the place like some sort of a field trip for a nature class – most in science classes.

All of them are facing in toward a central area. Large cargo boxes are sitting on top of tree roots throughout the camp.

And most surprising was that he wasn’t the only human here. Although there were beast men he had once seen in pictures, novels or anime on earth, there was also human – real humans!

Is he having a dream? He pinched himself then he felt a shot of pain…owwww… but he wasn’t waking up, then it only meant one thing.

This is real!

He was outside the cave!!!?

How?

On the corner of his eyes, a group of people, a mix of demi-humans and humans, has a very serious air about them. But some are just talking, almost relaxing with one another.

Two animal people are sitting beside each other in the grass. One leaning against a tree with his arms crossed while the other was sharpening his sword…Their armor and weapons show signs of fierce battles, and yet still sparkle.

Whoever made their equipment was extremely good at what they do.

Then Rain followed the sound he was hearing. Not too far away from his location, in a small valley full of unique flowers and special plants, Rain saw a beautiful figure playing the flute while closing her eyes.

She was just sitting cross-legged in the middle of the flowers. Unaware of Rain’s presence, she slightly lowered her head and was completely immersed in the music. He felt like his whole body was soaking in the carefree world made by the beautiful music.

Although he had heard much beautiful music than this back in Earth and there was even some Piano, Flute and Violin music stored in his phone since he liked listening instrumental music when he was alone, but it was a matter of feelings or mood that made music more beautiful. Besides, he had never heard music or songs again ever since he was transported in this world.

Thus, listening to music… was kinda refreshing!

The people in the surrounding finally started to notice him. Most stop and stared at him curiously while several just ignored him as they focus on what they were doing.
