《Rain Revert》Chapter 36: [ Scarlet ]

Shing!
A sound of sword unsheathing was made and Rain reappeared at the side of the monster that was still airborne and with an ‘Aah!!’ he stabbed the sword on its neck.
Gaah!? The two-headed monster struggled from pain but Rain had already expected it as he immediately pulled a steel wire from his waist and coiled it on the two necks of the monster.
Bzzzt! A piercing cry akin to that of a bird resounded as arc fusion blades came out from Rain’s palm and run through the wires.
Gyaaah!!!? With both the sword embedded on its neck and the wire coiling around its head, both covered with electric sparks, the monster let out a howl of agony before it fell on the ground, dead!
When Rain landed, at the corner of his eyes, he noticed two Othros Wolves had already managed to reach the two young lamias and was already engaged in close combat.
The two women’s movements although some were still stiff but they fought quite better than one could imagine.
Without panicking, Rain pulled his bow which was hanging from his shoulder and knocked two arrows.
Woosh! The arrows hit one of the wolves while the other one missed by hair’s breadth.
Still, that was enough, Rain again leaped on the ground and grabbed the skidding steel wire on the ground that was still connected to arrows stuck on the two-headed wolves monster and Buzz! Shrrrikk!! Electricity immediately runs on the steel wire and electrocuting the wolves.
The monsters movements halted due to the pain and the two young Lamia immediately struck the final blow as their swords and spears stabbed through the monster's body.
After a short moment, the entire battle finally ended.
Rain heaves a sigh of relief as he wonders how amazing he was for getting used to this kind of thing.
The he from before when he was still on Earth would never imagine him doing those stunts he only saw in Movies and fight monsters like he was some sort of Perseus or Achilles in Troy.
Surely, he would never believe it if someone told him. He might even think that man as a lunatic or worst - probably an escapee from the mental hospital!
He had escaped from the ordinary life he had, traveling through time and space in order to get here and found many things in life he found extremely valuable.

Love and Adventure!
His boring and uneventful life came to an end and was instead replaced by, yeah, a dangerous life but at the same time fulfilling moments!
"... ..."
This was one of the moments where you can’t help but marvel at a man’s ability to adapt to strange situations.
Humans are really creatures of adaptability!
He was an example. He had finally managed to get used to fighting and killing monsters for livelihood.
And now, he could even kill - though only monsters - in cold blood and without hesitating even a bit!
Rain picked up his arrows and steel wires he had used and walked towards Lafetti and the others.
He chooses a side with a small rock with soft edges and sat, waiting for Lafetti and the others to completely skin and dismember the Orthros Wolves.
He then started cleaning his arrows and rolling his steel wires.
The steel wires he had was not similar to those he had seen before. Rather than calling it steel, it looked as if it was just an ordinary silk, soft, smooth and extremely flexible. If not for the fact that it was harder to break than steel, Rain would think that it was just nylon.
As he was rolling it, at this moment,
“Ahm,” Someone came over to where he was and timidly called out. It was the new member of the hunting group.
Rain stopped what he was doing and smiled faintly, “Yes? Is something wrong?”
“I, I just want to, you know, thank you for helping us just now…” The two Lamias bowed their head.
“That’s nothing,” Rain replied with a smile.
“We are comrades, Nah, we are a family, right? Thus, it’s natural to help each other...”
The two Lamias who heard Rain’s answer became bashful as their somewhat pale complexion started getting rosy. A smile blooms on their faces as they stared at the youth.
Wavy black hair and beautiful blue eyes were the most distinguished feature of the human youth in front of them.
Truthfully, they have seen men before when the tribe kidnaps several humans for the mating seasons and if compared to the youth in front of them right now, it could be said that he wasn’t particularly very handsome or manly.

If describe in a good sentence, his face was just slightly above normal. But, for them, for the tribe, Rain was more than that. Whether he was ugly or not was not really important for them – in fact, they prefer his appearance right now.
And most important of all, just like what the other says, Rain’s character was really amiable and easygoing.
He held no prejudice or malice on their kind and just like what they had heard, with just one look of his eyes; one can see that he looked at the tribe as if they were not different to him at all.
“Yeah!” One of the Lamia happily nodded her head while wearing a happy yet shy smile.
“My name is Havara and this is my sister, Hadani,” Havara introduces herself and her sister who bowed in return.
“I think you should have heard about me, but anyway I’m Rain,” He introduced.
Although he had been in the tribe for who knows how long already, however, there were actually still many people he had yet to meet. Most were unsettled form Rain’s existence or still a bit uncomfortable with a human due to tragic pasts.
Rain put down what he was holding and was about to reach his hand for a handshake but then he suddenly noticed that his hand was actually quite dirty and so he was about to pull back and clean it when Hadani reaches out her hand and grabbed Rain’s hand enthusiastically.
“Hm?” Rain was startled.
“Can, Can we sit beside you?” Hadani asked, shyly.
Rain didn’t own the place so obviously, he nodded.
He scooted a bit made some space for two lamias to sit.
Hadani and Havara sat with an excited expression.
Rain only smile and returned to cleaning his effects such as the steel wire and the arrows from the blood. Arrows are expendable that is why Rain wanted to waste his arrows as less as possible.
“You’re really amazing… you’re so strong!” Havara started talking – Though her words almost made her look like a fangirl.
Rain cocks his head to one side, grinning. “Well, my teachers are not softies. I even wondered if they came from Sparta or Amazon, for how strict they became when they teach few tricks~” His tone is one of wry amusement.
“Oh,” Havara didn’t really quite understands what Rain said midway, however, it doesn’t obstruct her from understanding what he wanted to say and it caused her to smile understandingly. She has also her own similar experience.
“But that doesn’t justify your own way of fighting. I never saw it before, you know, putting steel wires at an arrow’s tail and using magic to attack the enemy with it.” Hadani also muttered.
“How did you think about that? I think it was quite an amazing way of fighting…”
Rain lifts lightly. What, should he tell them he saw them being used that way on TV?
Would they understand? Of course not.
“The idea just struck me when I was thinking how to properly use my magic with my fighting ability much efficiently.”
“You are really smart!”
As Rain and the two lamias were happily chatting with each other, a distressed female came over them.
“You’re having fun, huh,” The female snorted.
Rain turned his head and saw the Ant Queen walking over while bringing a wooden cart along.
Since Rain was reluctant to see the Ant Queen die, Zarda and the others decided to spare her life, which made her very happy and indebted not only to Rain but all at the Lamia tribe.
However, that happiness was short lived as Zarda - as a price for sparing her made her into a slave of the tribe.
With the innate strength of the Tolants, the Ant Queen who had been given by Rain the name of Scarlet since her lower body, the ant body was colored red - had become the tribe's hardworking laborer!
From plowing soil and plant herbs to carrying every baggage, weapons, and items they had, she was extremely useful!
Everyone had become somewhat satisfied from sparing her - though, the person herself thinks otherwise. After all, she was once an extremely spoiled and lazy Queen!!
Who would want to work and become a slave!!?
– Even right now, she still harbored hard feelings towards the Lamia tribe.
