《House Cazador: Kingdom of the Lion》Chapter Forty One - Interlude End of Arc Two

Notice: EXTREMELY BAD NEWS - I broke my computer...and along with it went most...if not ALL of my notes...Been rebuilding...but mostly I have been crying in the fetal position...Twas a blow dealt in the depths of my heart! D: ...So you can understand the impact it has had on me I could not even begin writing Arc 3 for days simply because I had no idea how old my characters were. Still clueless on most though with the MC's age at hand I can guess estimate.

Notice: Ok News - My Surface 2 tablet is now serving as my main operating device for all my internet needs, unfortunately it is a piece of crap that I am surprised it has not yet exploded or otherwise malfunctioned.

Notice: Neutral News - I will not be splitting up the story into a separate part two, probably. Part Two was going to be glorious, but it has been hard to motivate myself to rebuild part two's notes. Part two, if successfully resurrected will be Arc 4-5.

Chapter Forty Two

*** Almighty Narrator ***

Spoiler :

During Boraia’s purging and reorganization much of her military forces and fleets were home to enforce a peaceful amendment of the government. Bulbaria took this opportunity to send its fleets to Roya and push away much of Boraia’s drastically reduced fleet in the region. Due to Boraia’s Air Force the retreat was generally quickly halted and new borders were drawn. Both Boraian and Bulbarian controlled land doubled as Roya was officially split between the two superpowers leaving only the academy under its own autonomous government.

The landbridge between the north and south landmasses became disputed lands as both countries agreed to treat it as a buffer landzone. Neither country could enter with its military turning the area officially into a governless zone.

Point *eight became the zone of a new thriving city with its own skytower for flying castles to make port. With air transportation and excellent groundside transportation Boraia’s citizens quickly spread across the claimed territories.

While the expansion of the kingdom stretched out its military to maintain order and supply security from foreign invaders the import and export of goods exploded. Some of the Coalition countries even opened trade to Boraia as many of the goods it produces is of higher quality that what even Bulbaria could provide.

Instead of choosing to war with Bulbaria, Leo constantly sued for peace, a baffling tactic that neither of the governing members of Bulbaria nor Boraia could understand. Bulbaria was constantly gaining strength as it solidified its control in the Coalition even going as far as annexing several countries. A draft was currently bolstering its military and just as Boraia was experiencing an economic boom so too was Bulbaria. There was constant and fierce competition between the two countries’ merchants.

The Bulbarian expansion left only the countries of Nosavick, the Amazon Lands, the North Frostera, and the southern west coastal country of Nubia. The effect of the expansion could also be felt on the pirate island. It had become an even more lawless and brutal region as Bulbaria attempted to control the strategically important island.

Interestingly enough the relationship of the ruling members of the Coalition did not strain even with the number of annexations Bulbaria had made. Many saw it as a necessity to survive the growing monster known as Boraia. After the display at the academy it was quite clear that even beyond the skies Boraia was already setting foot.

The appearance of the massive vessel from high above the clouds was the deciding factor for many nations to blend their borders with Bulbaria. Unbeknownst to Bulbaria’s ruling members the cunning of Leo was beyond extraordinary, everything was going according to his plans. There were things only someone like Leo with his other worldly knowledge could prepare for.

As for Leo, he had slowly become increasingly busy to the point that he was running from one end of the country to the other and beyond.

He was rarely in one place for more than a week.

Such a travel arrangement was too much for Sophia, even with her flight ability it would wear her ragged, so Leo had made the decision to leave her in the capitol. Though he commissioned an orbital dreadnaught of his own to act as his base of operations he did not want to leave her there either. It would be far too lonely for her and he was done hiding her and keeping her from the world he would one day rule as king.

The dreadnaught was designed not for war, but for administration and observation, the heart if the dreadnought is a room with a three dimensional map of the world carved out of various wood and stone pieces. This map shows the continents of the world, the only three existing continents being Boraia, Roya, and Bulbaria.

The map also displays the various projects currently operating throughout the world be it the new railroad system being laid down in Roya to the new shipyards and sky stations being built and readied for production.

On another floor a second map is engraved, this one displays the known and explored lands beyond the great seals of fire. The map displays in great detail the incredible Arachnid Mines,a dungeon so vast and deep that most of it still remains unexplored. Its interior is displayed in three dimensional replication in a whole separate room. The map also contains the Bone Valley, the resting place of many a creature from the monumental to the miniscule. The Magma Lakes are also a vastly unexplored region as it is crawling with creatures naturally biologically adapted to living around and even within the magma.

The other reason why he decided to keep to himself bringing only the required staff members with him, was the fact that he was being effected by his body. Puberty was now running rampant throughout and it was started to cloud his mind. It boggled him how terrible a burden puberty could be after having enjoyed the clear mindedness of a prepubescent mind.

By choice his selected staff was mostly male, taking on females only if they were the best of their specific fields of study, skill, or expertise. By doing so he managed to keep the great industrial revolution flowing as preplanned.

Boraia was already unconquerable by all the combined might of every nation outside of her, its fleets were vast, its resources abundant, and its people constantly thriving, growing, and expanding. The introduction of medicine, hospitals, and traveling clerical healers was already showing its effect with the ever increasing number of citizens, infant mortality had drastically lowered and the health and hygiene of the public improved tremendously.

Father Time: I feel the ripples throughout my domain. What have you done. The convocation already ruled what must be.

Fate: The one who is allows it. There must be balance, my domain is in chaos and that needs to be rectified.

Father Time: The Convocation has judged and ruled! It is now my domain that enters chaos!

Fate: This foreign soul must be countered in our domains! What I have done is right!

Father Time: Only I know the secrets and truths of all that is, was, and will be...you have done nothing but create more chaos. Your champions will not do as you wrought them for. I close my domain to you, no more shall you tamper with what is and should have been.

Fate: I am that which is to be regardless of the paths taken to find the end, there will always be realms open to me.

*** Third Prince Adrian ***

“My prince,” a scholar entered my office. I was assigned to oversee projects in the academy by my brother and king, a task consented by the Coalition. “I bring the latest report on the seals, the green one is ready to be activated. It seems that the nature seal is activated by raw mana as you theorized. We believe to have gathered the required number of mages to open the seal.”

“Good,” I nodded. “How long until the preparations are finished to cross over?”

“Two days,” the scholar replied. “We managed to partially activate the seal earlier, we could do no more than do some preliminary scans with simple spells, but from what we can discern the other side of the seal is not hostile to life, in the sense that there is breathable air, temperate weather, and so forth.”

“I see,” I nodded again. “Is there anything else?”

“J-just wondering my prince…,” the man said without finishing.

“Wondering what?” I asked curious.

“We know what the red seal does,” the man stated. “There are still some seals out there spewing out monsters. The black and white seal robbed the Boraian Prince’s power. The blue seal almost drowned the underground chambers after its activation. Should we really risk it again and activate another seal?”

“The markings on the seal indicate that the green seal leads to a safe haven,” I replied. “Lots of the old races long forgotten crossed over leaving only remnants of their kind here on this world. To move so many people across such a seal, they would have had to have been completely sure of what they were doing or risk extinction. There are only two things we will find on the other side of that seal, the ancient races or an extinct civilization. Whichever may be the case, there must be magic and knowledge left behind or if the ancient races still thrive we can learn from them.”

“If we still thrive in this world it makes you wonder what it is that drove them off this world,” the scholar said.

Two days later the prince and his gathered explorers crossed the earth seal and into the unknown. They arrived on a world much like the one they left behind, it was full of green grass and trees with a blue sky and yellow sun. The interesting bit were the stone structures around them. A number of circular slabs stood in a line facing one long rectangular slab. Several of the circular slabs were damaged, some of the damage was easily discerned as unnatural. The long rectangular slab they faced was also damaged, the damage was also unnatural. Some parts of the structure looked slagged, others blown to bits.

They wasted no time setting up a camp on the other side of the seal, teams immediately began to research the remaining seals while others began excavating for remains. It was clear that whatever they were running from managed to cross over if some of the seals had to be destroyed.

In the first week alone several skeletons and artifacts were discovered, there were everyday things among the items excavated though one team of excavators discovered an ancient staff with incredibly complex seals written on it, the core gem of the staff was still vibrant with energy.

Let me know if you have problems with the maps, I have just edited them a thousand times and everything seems fine except on my tablet image two is showing with a malfunctioning spoiler. Advertisement Previous
