《Reincarnation》Chapter 32

-Principal POV-
It’s a disaster a utter disaster. What I had expected to be easily accomplished or at least a failure with no casualties had taken a turn for the worst. Mjolnir ended up in the hospital and apparently that dragon defies all logic. She didn’t even assumed her real form yet she had easily overpowered a S rank. There was only one death but out of every possible victim it just had to be an adventurer not even related to us. Not any adventurer one of the only two adamantine rank adventurer our country has.
I had underestimated her. A clash between S rank should have left her with injuries that would take at least a year or so to heal from. I had expected it to be the optimal time for capture, since we could have possibly captured an injured S rank with two A rank and dozens of B ranks. She wasn’t even slightly injured. How could a young dragon possibly survive a battle with another S rank unscathed. My miscalculation had caused the relationship we had with the adventurer guild to become rather strain. It was to be expected since they lost one of their strongest trump card.
For now since her strength obviously surpassed the S rank perhaps we should call her a legend class in strength. She wasn’t even an adult dragon yet her strength was already beyond logic.
Gleipner was currently looking for her. If he does somehow find her I could do nothing but pray he survives the ordeal. Astra was missing ever since that day. Mjolnir was severely injured and now even Svalinn was requesting to be dispatched to warn Gleipner. The four A ranks stationed here dwindles down to only one capable of protecting the academy if a situation was to arise, but she wanted to leave as well. I can’t get the S rank to be dispatched just to be protecting the academy and the rest of our A ranks were stationed at different branches.
I eventually broke down and gave in to Svalinn who was getting angrier every time she had visited, to request to be dispatched. With her departure the academy no longer had a single A rank capable of protecting us. Astra wasn’t someone I understood so I can’t automatically assume she had deserted. Even if she had, A ranks were to precious to be given the death penalty for deserting.

Damn it all these problems. I was getting majority of the blame, by the higher ups for giving the missions that had lead to this situation. If anything I was lucky if I wasn’t demoted. I could do nothing but pray that both Svalinn and Gleipner can return safely. If they both died or never returned it could be said that I had caused the disappearanced of three of the military A ranks. Including Astra.
-Gleipner POV-
The mission I was assigned was simply to find a demibeast. The picture I had been given was of a young girl but it was apparently how she had looked like more than a decade ago. The principal gave me the time limit of two months. If I couldn’t find her I was to return after the time I was given was up.
My first destination would naturally be into the demibeast territory. It was dangerous for any race other than demibeast to enter due to the hostility shown by their race in general. Well their caution towards other races stemmed from the slave trading that continue to be a problem till this day. I was fairly confident I could survive any encounter as long as they weren’t S rank. According to the briefing I had been given the demibeast I was looking for is suspected to be at the lower level of strength in the S rank. Approach with caution, but the likelihood of her being injured was high as well. The goal was to find her, not to capture.
Since I was going to be gone for a long time I had brought my daema companion along with me. It currently looked like a normal rabbit grabbing onto my shoulder. The journey to look for her was a nice change of pace, compared to staying in that stuffy academy. I naturally treated people around me coldly and was rather hard to approach. The only exception was my cute little sister of course.
Well after more than a week had passed I finally found, what could possibly be a place she had passed by. There were corpse of daema of all sorts laying dead. They were all killed in a similar manner, a part of their body had a gaping hole as if something had hit it with enough force to cause such a effect. It seemed my suspicion was right as I traversed the wasteland that acted as a border of sorts separating the human country and the daema territory.

-Ria POV-
It had been several days now since I had regained conscious. Currently I have recovered enough to walk normally. The injuries themselves were several times worst this time around so I haven’t fully recovered. If possible I do not want to encounter any enemies , since having to fight in this condition would do nothing but worsen my condition.
I would rather avoid permanently damaging this form, with the possibility of it affecting my real form. I didn’t even know how to revert to my full dragon form, but eventually I would. Furthermore since I couldn’t remember what happened, I could only assume my current injuries was from sustaining partial form for too long. I couldn’t understand how my body works at this point in time. My dragon form suffered no drawbacks no matter how long I used my mana yet partial form had such a restriction. How could the very same body have such vastly different tolerance. Putting these question aside, most important thing to me right now was to fully recover and I was slowly doing just that.
The people in the village of demibeast were extremely kind despite the fact I was a stranger to them. After having walked around and introducing myself most of the villager had kindly offered letting me stay as long as I wanted. They weren’t my family yet perhaps this is what family felt like was what I told myself as I lived with the family that had found me to begin with. The days continued to peacefully passed by as I played with the children once in a while and helped around with the fields, once my injury were for the most part ok. It didn’t take too long to get to know everyone in the village and they were nice to me, so it also didn’t take long before I had befriended most of them.
One of the things I had notice was that my hair and eye colour was truly unique even among people with similar race as my current form. It was to be expected since my eye colour actually belonged to my dragon form and my hair colour was similar to my scales somewhat.
Well I wasn’t planning to stay in this place for too long either ways. From what I could remember, the military was after me. I was apparently currently in demibeast territory but we weren’t exactly far away from the human territory either. Returning to the human country wasn’t in my top to do list so I would most likely go to the elf country that was in the opposite direction. I didn’t want to trouble the kind demibeast who had helped me so I would leave as soon as I had fully recovered.
As usual I had also gathered some intelligence on the demibeast territory in general. Apparently most demibeast lived in tribes as families of sorts and are scattered all over the area. Recently however there was a large group of demibeast who had gathered together and started the construction of the very first city of sorts for demibeast. The other races weren’t aware of it, but most of the tribes were invited to go and live together in the city. The goal of the city was to prevent the kidnapping of fellow demibeast to be sold as slaves.
The city itself was build in a hidden area that was only told to fellow demibeast. Since I was a demibeast in this form, I was easily able to get information by simply asking the man who had found me. Not all the tribes were joining but the demibeast who had started it was apparently a survivor of a tribe destroyed by the human slave trader several decades ago.
There wasn’t any harm in visiting the city since I was here anyways. After the city I could go to the elf country but for now that was my next destination. After several more days of recovery I was finally ready to leave. Though I was somewhat reluctant to part, I didn’t want to get them involved if the military are looking for me. The farewell was slightly painful but meeting new people and saying farewell was something I probably had to get used to, if I wanted to travel around the continent looking for new things.
(Author Note) : Sorry bout yesterday. I don't think i will be able to keep up with daily releases since i'm still thinking of the plot for this arc. I will still try to released daily but i doubt i can. With that said hope you guys enjoy bye.

Arcane Engines: Alchemist’s Scheme
A seemingly chance encounter with an ancient machine and an assassination attempt threaten to disrupt Veil’s education at the premier mage academy of Ithalaan. The bombings and terrorist actions that follow throw the entire region into chaos and draw him inexorably deeper into a mystery involving cults, gods, and ancient mysterious races. These events threaten Veil’s carefully crafted plans, but there are few limits on his ambition. He is willing to do whatever it takes to advance his schemes to become a Magus, including pursuing the illegal discipline of soul magic. While Veil isn’t a powerful mage yet, his spell wrought guns and illicit abilities will help even the playing field. The need to face down his enemies and fulfill his ambitions will send him desperately searching from Forerunner ruins in the Great Northern Forest to ancient abyssal cities within the depths of the planet. _________________________________________________________________ The book is primarily fantasy with a steampunk background. Science fiction elements won't be introduced for quite some time. I currently update my work at a rate of one chapter per week. I'm also in the process of editing chapters 1 - 7, changing the format to make it more readable, and introducing more show and less tell. The reworked chapters will have (edited) after the title. All chapters after 8 have already been written in the new style. I have a Patreon page if you wish to donate. Also, there will be intense situations, some explicit violence, and although it is not an erotic work, one or two sex scenes.

Magician's Pact
A young boy with a special key finds himself caught up with an old wizard, an ancient prohpecy, and a possibly conspercy. This sounds like the sort of thing most childern would love to be a part of, but there are just three small problems. The first is that he is not the hero. Someone already got that role. The second is that he isn't a wizard. He is a Magician which complicates things. The third is that there might be a chance that the whole 'problem' might be comming from his end. Personally he never understood (or interacted with) the 'secret' magical world, but that becomes a problem when the magical world apparently has what his role is supposed to be according to their ancient book... and they are not to happy about him not matching their book. Still it shouldn't be to hard right? All he has to do is go to a school, learn some wizard magic, make sure nobody takes his key... also avoid dying. Thankfully he has had a lot of expereince with that last part and a bunch of Twig Twirling childern can't be too dangerious? Right?
