《The Chaos Immortal》Chapter 34 - It's a Trap!

“I guess I don’t need to do anything here. They will probably get bored and stop in a few days.” Shen’s mutter went unheard as everyone within the city witnessed a battle that most would not see again in their lifetimes.
After another few hours of fighting, all three sides were rather weary and the magic arts used were not as flashy and imposing as the beginning. The glows on the spirit tools were dim and the participants looked miserable.
It was at this point that the two True Immortals who were hiding within their flying ships shouted out.
“Stop!” “Come back to the ship!”
They both felt a suffocating aura approaching their direction at an astonishing speed. Due to the shouts of the ancient elders, the battlefield was temporarily peaceful with all three sides retreating behind their own defence barriers.
The five Sky Immortals of Blue Cloud City looked puzzled at the sudden situation but they were more than happy to catch a break.
Shortly after, a small speck on the horizon could be seen rapidly closing in on Blue Cloud City. As the speck got closer, those with good eye sight could make out a small flying ship that was heading straight towards the battlefield.
The small flying ship only took a few minutes and stopped a distance away from the other large flying ships.
Four men and women wearing different styles of clothing got down from within. The flying ship disappeared at the next second.
The five Sky Immortals were shocked upon seeing the inhabitants of the small flying ship.
“Disciple greets Ancient Elders!” They all simultaneously bowed towards the four people.
The cultivators in the city were puzzled from this. The Devil Path Alliance looked on with caution.
“So, you finally come!” The calm voice once again spoke from within the evil path cultivator’s flying ship. A shadow swiftly appeared in front of the evil path cultivator group.
An old man wearing a grey robe could be seen staring at the newcomers. The other True Immortal from the Devil Path Alliance also made his appearance at this time.

“I guess we don’t need to be here anymore, hehe.” He laughed while glancing back and forth between the two parties.
A middle-aged looking man from the four looked at the old man for a few seconds before setting his sight back on the True Immortal from the evil path.
“Who said you could leave? I have been waiting for this. We are just getting started.” The old man of the evil path made a gesture to the ships behind him.
At this point, a dark blood coloured radiance spread out with the ships as the centre. The three ships were originally located at the centre of the city.
The dark blood coloured light enveloped the entire city and the crowd standing above its barrier before anyone could react.
The four True Immortals who had just arrived had wanted to prevent it, but they were curious to what the old man wanted to do. They were also rather confident in their power.
The light infiltrated the barriers as if they weren’t there to begin with. This caused the faces of the five True Immortals to fall while the old man from the evil path looked at them with a smirk.
“Hahaha, you should’ve stopped it while you had the chance! It’s too late now! Hahahaha!”
The blood red light quickly latched onto multiple forms, whether they were from correct path, Devil Path Alliance or evil path. These were the souls of those whose fleshy body has been destroyed during battle from all three sides!
*ROAR!!*
A large form ran out of a ship and roared fiercely. One could see that this was a large tiger that was as big as the small ship that the four True Immortals had arrived on.
The tiger looked around at the four True Immortals as well as the group from the Devil Path Alliance.
While most people were puzzled from the unknown circumstances, the blood light was pulling all soul forms and quickly receded in the direction of the tiger.

The tiger had a cultivation base at the very peak of Sky Immoral stage. He was not to be trifled with and could even fight an early True Immortal for a short period of time.
“Oh no! Everyone, kill that tiger!” The middle-aged True Immortal quickly realised the plan of the evil path cultivators and yelled out. He raced towards the tiger while unleashing his strongest attack, followed by his three companions.
The Devil Path Alliance had been communicating within themselves and the old True Immortal had sneaked on board one of their ships.
However, their swiftly retreating ships were stopped in their tracks by a fierce shockwave with the tiger at the centre.
The blood coloured light was faster than the middle-aged man’s attack and had been completely absorbed by the large tiger.
A fierce shockwave was unleashed the moment the blood light completely entered the tiger’s body.
The already large tiger’s body expended a few times. A truly suffocating and huge pressure descended on everyone present on the scene. Even the evil path cultivators had sweat coming off their faces.
Up in the skies, a large amount of thunder clouds gathered, causing the sunlight to be blocked off. The lightning crackled and popped, seemingly wanting to punish one who went against the heavens.
“What!? It’s almost bringing on Heavenly Tribulation! It can’t be about to breakthrough to Immortal King?!”
The lightning however, did not fall as the tiger’s cultivation had stopped at True Immortal stage.
A soundless roar from the new large tiger caused everyone to go stiff. The tiger swiped his paw at the attack of the middle-aged man that had just arrived.
*BANG!*
The deflected attack had hit the city’s barrier and caused it to go rather dim.
“Oh, this looks rather interesting.” Shen looked up and commented. He was not amused however, since he had no clue what the light’s purpose was, there was no way to know that it would sacrifice the souls to forcefully increase the tiger’s cultivation.
“Hahahaha! Now we have a peak True Immortal on our side! Even the five of you won’t be able to do anything. Of course, you can abandon your comrades and run away! Hahahaha!”
This comment caused despair and unwillingness in the eyes of many as they looked towards the four True Immortals and the retreating Devil Path Alliance.
‘I guess I should do something now.’
Shen soundlessly took out his low-grade spirit tool flying sword. He proceeded to fill it with chaos power. The sword was of a higher quality, therefore it held out quite a bit better than a magic tool.
Shen had learned his lesson and had inserted a thin layer of spiritual power under the chaos power.
Shen wordlessly threw the sword with all his might at the tiger. Everyone around him as absorbed in the standoff in the air and did not notice his actions.
A hole in the barrier was made as if it wasn’t there to begin with. The size was too small and the sword was too fast for anyone to see.
As the old man from the evil path laughed, the sword penetrated the tiger’s skull.
Everyone at this time noticed a beam going straight up into the sky, splitting the cloud layers and going towards the void.
Everyone on the scene turned speechless and stared at the tiger, which was obviously the initial point of the beam. The huge pressure emitted by the peak True Immortal cultivation had disappeared. The thunder clouds slowly dispersed.
The tiger, starting from his head, slowly started to dissolve. Xue’er saw the phenomenon and quickly looked at Shen, sending him a wordless question with her gaze.

I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself.
