《The Chaos Immortal》Chapter 6 - Date with Xue'er

“Big Brother Shen!”
A beautiful voice called out. Shen turned to look towards the sound by reflex, upon which even the unrivalled chaos beast had his breath taken away. Although it was unknown if he required to breath.
Wen Cai and Shi Wei also looked and saw Long Xue’er walking towards them in a new pink dress. Even though Shen had applied an illusion, it could not hide Xue’er’s gentle demeanour and style. Wen Cai and Shi Wei did not think much as they could only see the ordinary facial features of Long Xue’er.
Shen stood up and waited for Xue’er to approach them.
“Brothers, this is my companion, Long Xue’er. Xue’er, this is Brother Wen and Brother Shi.”
Shen introduced his new friends to Xue’er. He was rather pleased for being able to make friends on his first outing.
“Hello Junior Sister Xue’er.” Wen Cai and Shi Wei nodded politely.
“Hello Big Brothers.” Xue’er smiled towards the two males before standing beside Shen.
“Brother Wen, Brother Shi, we will be taking our leave. We will surely meet again, if fate allows us.” Shen warmly said before bidding goodbye towards Wen Cai and Shi Wei.
Wen Cai and Shi Wei looked at the departing backs.
“They don’t seem like ordinary people, but he seemed to not know about a lot of things.” Wen Cai muttered.
“Well he doesn’t seem like a bad person. Everyone has their secrets. It’s best not to look too deep into it.”
“Well since when did you become so wise.” Wen Cai mockingly said towards Shi Wei.
“Hehehe.. Well look, our junior sister is coming, let’s go back.” Shi Wei brushed off the comment and changed topics.

“Well, where shall we go now?” Shen asked Xue’er who seemed to be very happy with her new look.

“Let’s go eat! There is a famous restaurant that is well known for wine. I’m sure Big Brother Shen will like it. Father also raised the wine from that restaurant.”
With Long Xue’er in the lead, they headed towards the restaurant. Shen had gotten used to being pulled by Long Xue’er unknowingly.
Soon they arrived in front of a large restaurant. It had a large golden sign above the entrance that read ‘Green Bamboo Manor’. The building had four floors and gave off a grand atmosphere.
The couple was greeted by beautiful waitresses as they entered.
“Hello, welcome to Green Bamboo Manor.”
“Table for two thanks.”
Shen and Long Xue’er followed the waitress to a vacant table.
“Give us two bottles of ‘Green Bamboo Wine’ and a few of your signature dishes.” Long Xue’er ordered as they took a seat.
There were only a few people on the first floor where they were located. The upper floors cost more but it was a status symbol for those rich and powerful and they liked to show off by going to the higher floors to dine.
Soon the ordered food and wine arrived at the table.
Shen took in the aroma from the dishes as he thought, ‘I might get addicted to this.’ Shen had gotten rather fond of wine while he stayed with Long Tian.
‘This wine isn’t as good as Brother Long’s.’
Xue’er ate and drank happily as neither her father or herself were good cooks. She rarely had a chance to eat good food in the forest.
The meal had cost a few hundred low grade spirit stones as the wine itself cost 100 spirit stones per bottle. This amount was enough to make a common Foundation stage cultivator last for a few months.

After the meal, the couple took a stroll in an open market area where there were stalls set up by cultivators trying to sell and trade their wares, and shoppers looking left and right with the hope to pick up a bargain.
Xue’er had gotten used to pulling Shen’s hands without herself being aware of the action. Shen being a loner, did not think anything of the action. He even felt quite happy but could not find the reason.
Long Tian, being an Immortal King and the ruler of a vast forest, had a tremendous amount of treasures. He had given part of his wealth to Shen and Xue’er prior to their journey.
The market place did not bring up their interest as those goods simply could not enter Xue’er’s eye and Shen had no clue about any magical tools or spirit grass.
“This is what people a date I think.” Shen commented suddenly.
“Date? What is a date?” Xue’er asked with curiosity.
“Hmm the action of a male accompanying a female on an activity and they like each other is called a date I believe. I have only observed the action before. The range of activity is rather wide. Some would simply share a meal and part ways, others would even undergo the act of child making.
What we are currently doing can be called a date. We shared a meal and are now taking a stroll together. I quite like Xue’er as well.”
The clueless almighty being had dropped a bomb on an innocent maiden who blushed up to her ears and hid her face from Shen. She was still tightly clutching his hands without letting go.
“Chi-child making!?” Xue’er stuttered over the unexpected information.
“Big, big brother Shen. What did you talk about with those two other big brothers earlier?” Xue’er had changed the topic with a flurry.
She had even forgot to digest the ‘I quite like Xue’er’ part of the conversion.
“Oh, they were talking about the competition held by the five large sects every ten years. The first stage is going to start in ten days.”
“I remember that! Father brought me to see those geniuses ten years ago, hmm, I wonder if I should enter.” Xue’er pondered with great interest as she thought it would be fun.
“Haha, you probably shouldn’t, humans around your age are far too weak when compared to our Xue’er. You will definitely cause an uproar.”
Shen had recalled the information on cultivation levels before replying.
“Do you want to stay until the end of the first stage? We could always follow the crowd and go to the next city for the last part. After which we could go where ever you like.” Shen had no concrete plan, therefore he always asked Xue’er for her input.
Xue’er also didn’t mind as she thought it was interesting. “OK, I will listen to Big Brother Shen.”
Shen went into a daze from Xue’er’s smile. ‘Hmm, what is wrong with me. These emotions are rather new. I don’t need to reproduce, do I? Wait can I even reproduce?’
He asked that question in his head but no answers came to mind. ‘Oh well, guess I will find out once I try.’
With that dangerous thought in his head, Shen and Xue’er left the market area hand in hand.

He sets off to reunite his siblings and slay the dragon that destroyed their village while only being equipped with one useless space spell that drains all his mana after one usage. Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
