Chapter 1 - Dragged in a game like situation!

"Huh?"

I woke up to an uneasy feeling only to see pure darkness…

I moved around to feel if there's anything familiar in my surroundings but…

It doesn't seem like there's anything here… Even the floor itself!?

A single thought immediately came to mind… I'm falling.

I panicked and flailed both my arms and legs in an exaggerated manner in hopes of finding a solid surface to grab onto. I stopped as soon as I realized that my actions were useless…

I released a sigh as I've started calming down…

How did I end up in this situation?

The first thing that came to me was "My friends played a prank on me again" but discarded the thought.

I would most likely believe that this is a prank when I could touch something. You know… like a floor

And also, I don't think they'll do something so cruel to me… maybe…

With nothing else coming to mind, I began retracing my steps…

[Flashback]

I did the most hated action as like most of the world, I woke up early.

I started preparing for school even though I'm in a drowsy state.

It's not like I like going to school, I just don't want to get yelled at by the teacher again.

As per our agreed house rule, it was my older sister's turn to prepare breakfast for everyone in the house.

I warmed the bath and cleaned myself then left the house.

I walked quite the distance towards my school and when I was about to cross the street, my vision suddenly blurred and a ear shattering noise could be heard…

I lost consciousness before I could make anything out…

[Flashback ends]

Eh? I can't remember anything else after that! My head hurts when I remember it.

I was beginning to feel anxious about it so I decided to keep trying but…

"Urgh…"

Ouch! it hurts! it hurts!! The pain! Everything is spinning!

I kept trying until the pain was unbearable but failed to remember anything…

The pain is similar to that of a head splitting headache but much worse.

Welp… It was one of the most unpleasant thing I ever experienced in my life…

What did really happened? Wait… what do I actually do now?

A random thought suddenly came to me "Being here for all eternity" scary…

No, no, no, no…

Let's calm down and stay positive!

And as if on cue, something extraordinary happened…

A semi transparent blue screen appeared in front of me.

System:Congratulations!! You have successfully become a lesser god!!

Yep… I definitely read too many light novels and manga that I might be beginning to hallucinate.

Or perhaps I just played too many games that this happened… Ah~ I don't know anymore!

This is a dream right? This is exactly a dream!

I just can't help but randomly comment about this…

I might be losing my mind here but…

Let's just play along here~

The thing that popped up is similar to a game I played with my friends..

Hmm~ If I were to relate my current situation with those in the stories then…

"I would either be dead right now… right?"

No… wait… Let's not be hasty there…

There are plenty of ways for- Actually… Let's forget about that… what exactly is my current situation?

If i were to think about it, the most common template for situations like these are:

Option 1, I was simply transported to another world with no explanation whatsoever…

Option 2, I died and I'm about to start my new life on another world…

Option 3, Reincarnation… which is very unlikely right now…

Option 4, I'm dreaming/hallucinating all of this…

Yup… I don't think any of these matches my current situation…

Ahh~ What to do with this…

As I think that, another thought came to mind… I wonder how my friends and family are doing…

Let's think about that another time… Being depressed would be bad right now.

With a heavy feeling inside me, I decided to move on…

Playing along, I move my hand and touched the blue screen in front of me, making it disappear.

The moment I did that, I was filled with a strange feeling as if I just woken up whilst awake. weird…

The surrounding scenery changes from the dark void to that of a modern bedroom.

And yet another blue screen appears in front of me…

What is this!? A character creation!?

I yelled inside my mind in a joking manner as the situation becomes more and more abnormal.

I was left with no choice but to accept everything as it is… it was better that way.

But still… a name.

Thinking of a name… The hardest part of the majority of online games…

"Neroborj"

I muttered as I was feeling unsure but the blue screen disappeared as if it was accepting my answer.

It seems that it was too late to change it… Oh well~ I always use this name, be it for games or social life!

System:Welcome to the World of Veran!

Hmm? It seems like I'm the only God in Veran… I don't know if that's good or not though.

But what's with that huge amount of stat points?

It feels as if I was cheating but maybe not… Character stats differs from game to game after all.

And I might be needing this in the future. A bonus is a bonus after all~

I decided to look around as there might be some other useful items in here.

"Hmm~ Isn't there suppose to be a guide in situations like this or something?"

I was late to notice it but it seemed that I accidentally blurted out my thoughts.

But before I could do some searching a voice responded to my muttering.

"Do you need any assistance?" (Voice)

"Eh? Um, What do I do now?" (Nero)

Though I was a bit startled but I was able to respond and ask my question.

Judging from the tone and pitch of the voice, it seems that it is a woman.

But I still don't know where the voice is coming from though.

"Would you like to change your appearance?" (Voice)

She immediately responded with a voice full of elegance.

And a blue screen appears again but this time with a "Yes" or "No" options at the very bottom.

Wait… You could change appearance? Why not!

I'm very fond of customizing things, be it design, character or functions!

System:Do you wish to change your appearance?

This will cost Stat Points

But before I could press "Yes" without a care, I decided to ask about the warning first.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

The voice somewhat laughs at me when I asked her…

There's something wrong here… but I decided to ignore it for now.

"Creating something from nothing is a ridiculous feat that only higher beings are capable of. I'll be using your status points as to necessitate the changes of your appearance or to assistance of creation. Think of it as a form of currency of some sorts" (Voice)

Or so she says… so it’s like that? That's understandable…

I have some bonus from before, so I decided that it was alright…

But with my lack of knowledge about this feels like I'm getting scammed or something.

Slowly, my vision darkens… but I heard people laughing as my consciousness fades away…

Back in the darkness, an image of myself appears in front of me along with other screens.

The blue screens that surrounds me seems to be customization windows.

It really does feel like the games I've played… This would be fun~

Going by my preferred character layout…

I reduced my height, fixed my hair style, changed my the color of my eyes to a bright red…

I also pick the clothes I'm more familiar with such as black hooded jacket, simple T-shirt, pants, socks and shoes.

The whole process took quite a while but I was satisfied.

My current appearance is that of a kid.

System:The changes you've made in appearance will cost you 20 stat points

If I were to compare the price with the bonus 500 points…

I see no problem here.

Feeling satisfied with the outcome, I pressed "Yes" with no hesitation.

As if I woke up while still awake, I realized that I've returned to the bed room.

I feel great! But there's a slight feeling of people watching me… To be specific, laughing at me…

Let's ignore it as usual…

"Next step is to acquire your affinity~ Please place both of your hands on the orb in front of you" (Voice)

"It seems that you're having fun…" (Nero)

A crystal orb appears in front of me out of thin air and as Instructed, I placed both of my hands.

Another blue screen appears…

"This looks promising~" (Nero)

Though I don't know how this will affect me but I'm guessing that it's a good thing.

Soon I noticed that the feeling of people laughing at me stopped and was changed to something else…

D-Don't tell me… This is not that normal? Uh… L, Let's just play it cool and be ignorant about it… just to be safe.

"Hmm? Is something wrong?" (Nero)

"Eh!? Ah! No! Not a thing! Nothing at all!" (Voice)

The voice seemed somewhat flustered.

I knew it… something is wrong! Maybe what happened is something out of the ordinary here.

Let's keep feigning ignorance shall we~?

"What do I do next?" (Nero)

"Ah! Yes! You would need to choose a certain attribute to specialized in" (Voice)

The voice tried it's best to recomposed herself and continues on.

Basing them with my gaming knowledge would be~

Strength seems nice… but I rarely rely on it when I play so I'd like to avoid choosing this.

Agility… I remember the fun stuff I did but let's reconsider.

Endurance decreases any damage you've received right? But I'm no masochist so my answer is NO!.

Vitality mean life right? Will I become an immortal and live forever? I don't feel like picking this…

Intelligence… I am more of a thinking person myself but a nagging feeling is telling me no…

Luck? a weird feeling makes me want to pick this… but why?

Even when I stand there and think about it for a long period of time, I failed to reach any conclusion…

It's really hard to choose… I guess I'll go with the strange feeling from earlier then~

With that out of the way, I moved my hand and selected Luck.

"Whua!!" (Nero)

I felt a strange chill going down my spine…

Looks like they're laughing at me again…

I could only give a wry smile… moving on.

A large screen appears seemingly with a different function.

It felt the same as buying stuff from the auction house from a game.

I looked around for the available skills that could be useful.

When I finally cleared the entire wall in front of me,

I noticed that the number of people laughing at me increased.

I tried to casually shrug it off as if it never happened.
