-Dawn we arrived !

Scar shouted out her voice was a bit more excited then usual probably because she was excited to see her home town the capital city it had been many years since she was last here leaving with a lot of bad memories that brought her to this situation and also good memories about her family and general life,the smile that covered her beautiful lips alone was almost worth helping her too...not that I was that kind of person of course,I am just saying she is pretty.

Either way I stopped admiring scar for a second and looked in front of me popping my head to the side,I stared up towards our final destination the place where the tournament was going to take place and the home of the imperial family and also my ticket home...the capital city of bahan.

The first thing that met my eyes were the enormously huge char black walls surrounding the city the size of them alone could strike uncertainty into some invaders hearts as it was in my estimation 35 to 40 meters tall...the shadow this kind of wall would make was something to consider,I didn't even know how thick it was,but considering the height the thickness must be something closely huge as the height maybe.

But that wasn't what amazed me the most,what made me surprised was the sheer length of the wall,I couldn't even guess how long it stretched or how much time it took to make such a imposing wall with their kind of technology.

Of course the other fey's could have helped constructing it with magic or supernatural strength,but even so it doesn't make the work easier like that and from what I heard when listening to scar the wall was also made with the help of the emperor himself who used his dragon strength to carry the charred bricks,the city itself is also the only city in this empire that doesn't have a name people simply call it the capital city of bahan because its the home of the emperor himself his castle can be seen from here piercing into the clouds much more bigger then the walls themselves the height something simply unimaginable to be able to estimated by eye sight even with my own enhanced sight the city was breath taking from the outer walls alone.

-It seems like we aren't the only ones who want to get in...

Scar said as she stared to the front her eyes showing small amount of annoyance,I also followed the direction she was looking at and discovered that there was a pretty long line going through the road towards the city entrance,people were lining up with their mounts going inside the city one by one,it looked incredibly annoying which I could understand and the sun was setting down already dusk was approaching we didn't have time to go through this entire line nor did I have the patients for it.

-Scar get down we are going to enter by foot this is going to take way too much time

I said,quickly dismounting the giant lizard and looking forward towards the city,I couldn't see the gate,but I could see a lot of light coming from the end of the road up ahead clogged by a lot of caravans and lizard mounts like us...

-Ehh ! What about the storm runner we can't just leave it here ?!

Scar,said looking a bit surprised and also slightly unwilling as she seemed to have grown accustomed to the big lizard we had been using as a mount up until now to get here...I looked at the big boys eyes,it didn't show any big signs of intelligence it also seemed a bit hungry as its body once again heated up as if it was on fire breathing roughly since it had been running all day,I felt small amount of pity and also gratefulness to this creature since it had done its job.

-Everything deserves some amount of freedom doesn't it ? Don't you think this guy also wants to go out and find a place to live maybe even a girl which it can make a family with ?

I asked patting the poor thing while summoning the bag of food to feed it one last time before I would set it free,Scar who was still sitting on top of it only smiled holding her laughter as she started to rebuke my words.

-She is a girl ! And letting her free means her death the forest is full of magical beasts even the lowest kind can kill her easily since viscurs can only run not fight !

Her words slightly picked onto my chest,its not like I had any clue if it was a boy or not and either way we have no other choice,I was bit worried that the guards wouldn't let us in after the night sets.

Scar obviously understood what I wanted to do by this her expression told me that I was right with the guards and after a few seconds of contemplating she sighed and finally got down the giant lizard herself her hands were still a bit shaky she was stressed and her haunted look hadn't disappeared either,the laugh just now and the conversation up until here had her somewhat distract,but not entirely as scar herself had also a lot to think about.

I watched scar getting down the giant lizard while also glancing towards the entrance to the capital city,the journey had lead me here and it was partially annoying,but I can't complain that I didn't like it.

-Hyaaa !

Scar shrieked her shriek startled me for a slight second as I looked to my side towards her quickly doing so I realized that scar had lost her balance while climbing down the lizard who had suddenly moved to the side causing her to fall.

My eyes widened for a split second,my hands moving on their own as they spread apart getting ready to catch the falling scar,time was moving very slowly for some reason and it wasn't me who had invoked my powers if you may ask.

She fell as quickly as I caught her in my arms she seemed relatively close to hestia's weight a bit plump,but also slender at a few places with good body proportions everywhere and soft skin even through the armor,I could feel her throughly.

-I thought you said you are a good at this ?

I asked feeling my lips curl up for a second as I stared at her,scar immediately saw my grin blushing for a brief second as she took in the situation she was in her eyes going down for a moment while gently holding onto my chest,her hand gripping onto my shirt,I could tell that her breathing was getting a bit more calmer the shakiness she had at the start seemed to have subsided...

-I tripped,it happens...now can you let me down already ?

She grumbled,I smiled and just put scar down onto the ground gently her cheeks were still a bit red so as to not make her feel even more embarrassed I acted as if I couldn't see anything and looked up towards the city gate my eyes momentarily lighting up with golden light.

After a few seconds I could hear a slapping sound coming behind me which was followed by a gallop from the lizard running off...glancing behind me I could see scar waving off the giant lizard a bit sad that she had to part with it just like that.

-Lets go...

I said,looking back towards the road as I quickly made my way jogging for a few minutes with scar closely following behind,I was curious as to see who this specific emperor.

The guard shouted out stopping both me and scar in our tracks as he blocked our way into the city,scar looked a bit annoyed she didn't say anything making me think that she really doesn't know anything about this.

-We are travelers,I came to participate in the tournament I was told that there wouldn't be an complications for coming here...

Hearing my words,the guard momentarily inspected both of us,my face and scar's looks had already caught a lot of attention from both genders even the guard couldn't entirely look away from scar who was a striking beauty before he quickly pulled out a piece of paper and checked on us before allowing our entry...with a fee of course.

I couldn't tell if the entrance fee was a lot or not,but it was 1 sliver talon for each person making it 2 for the both of us,it seems like only citizens are allowed to come in without a fee.

I quickly rummaged through my pockets searching for the silver coins as our surroundings were packed by a lot of people who were mainly occupied with their own business or trying to get in themselves.The amount of people here were a lot,it most probably wasn't always packed like this,but it seems like many people from different countries had come here to either watch the tournament or participate in it in hopes to become the emperor...some of these individuals actually looked pretty skilled or strong with all kinds of people ranging from swordsman to mages and even people who looked like acrobats or archers were present...I wonder what kind of weapons are allowed in this tournament.

Either way I didn't look at the people surrounding us anymore and simply flicked two silver coins out of my pocket,scar who was standing next to me seemed to have want to pay for herself,but because she only had golden coins in her pockets,she couldn't pay the guard since it would be way too troublesome and problematic to get the change she also feared that the guard would be too greedy and not return the coin to her once its in his hand.

-Sorry...I pay you back later for the silver coin..

She said a bit apologetic,I didn't mind it all it much and just told her that it was okay even if she didn't pay it,the response I gave didn't seem to have good over scar's side as she puffed for a slight second getting a bit grumpy against me,its not like I called her poor anything !

I thought about to hand over the silver coins to the guard and just as I was about to do so the crowd behind us started to make a huge ruckus...The sound of stamping and pushing could be heard,a bit confused I glanced behind me to see what was going on,scar also looked behind us as we both stared at the chestnut haired guy walking through the crowd pushing away the from him without even touching them as if a force field surrounded him making him untouchable...

-Mage ?...

Scar muttered a bit surprised and as she just said it was true...the person was walking towards us was indeed a mage,I could feel the magical energy circulating within him with high speed his aquamarine robe with golden ornaments and his fancy staff also gave him away pretty quickly,the look in his eye was cold too as if he didn't see the people beside him as people,but bugs a truly ruthless person if you may say so,he looked very young almost as young as me really,but I could still tell that he was getting close to his twenties.

The guards who were standing nearby gasped for a slight moment,from what I know most of the magicians in this world are all either with the magicians association or a noble family to act as their court magician a magician is a very prestigious job in this world which paid almost as much as a officer scar explained that they are generally looked at as oddities since normal people never really get any contact with the supernatural or with any kinds of magic other then magic devices.

Because I was slightly surprised,I didn't move away from my spot and just watched as the mage made his way towards us,scar felt increasingly anxious seeing this walking towards us,she didn't seem to like magic all too much even though her mother is a light magician she still prefers physical prowess and techniques...I hadn't had really the chance to fight against scar since I would always simply overwhelm her with my ability,but I knew that she was indeed someone very strong who could easily take on skilled individual without even losing a drop of sweat...she even mentioned that she could fight the royal guards on a even ground which must already tell a lot about what she can do right now.

The aquamarine mage didn't stop his eyes were showing a very arrogant air of indifference and coldness,scar who was standing beside me wasn't sure what to do,but before she could even do anything a invisible force field started to push her back...I was a bit surprised acting at the spur of the moment I grabbed onto scar's hand quickly activated my ability immediately negating the effect of the forcefield the mage was putting on effect.

After receiving the after shock scar shook her head a bit dizzy her expression from mildly worried quickly changed towards,extremely pissed staring at the mage with a deathly glare of hers almost going over and doing the deed personally...but stopping as she knew that I was the one who was negating the effect in the first place if I let go she would just get pushed away again,still though it didn't stop her from sneering angrily at the aquamarine mage who didn't even seem to have registered scar as both me and him momentarily locked eyes for the first time...

Strangely enough...he looked pleased.
