The sun shone through the window and into the room nighttime was already gone replaced by the day light.

I sighed and looked at the empty wine bottle that was on the table and next to it slept a beautiful enchantress with raven hair and crimson red lips you could see from her position that she wasn't all too well drinking all night until she drove herself to sleep.

-mhm...leraje...get...him...

I had no idea what she was dreaming about but at the same time i didn't care less.She wanted company and that company i had already given her.

I slowly stood up from my seat and took the sack of gold before i left i took one last glance at her, she was right this moment was probably the last time we were ever going to meet again but it was worth it.

-You are truly a dense man leraje

I turned around and looked at elyssa who was leaning on the table while looking at me...these two were truly similar but how could they be so different at the same time? I thought.

-It was nice night elyssa but i have to leave i am guessing the person who is standing behind the door with the little child is the one i requested ?

She nodded at my question as i moved towards the door until she said one last thing.

-Will i ever have a chance ?

I stopped holding the door knob and thought for a bit and said.

-If i live to be an archfiend demon and you become a master vampire maybe but i doubt that will ever happen

I turned to elyssa for a second and strangely i could see a glimps of hope shining in her eyes as she said with a smile.

-Then its a deal ! Remember leraje i am a very stubborn woman you just take care not to get killed in the future.

-I wouldn't dream lady elyssa

I laughed and got out of the room she was a person truly fun to be with.

As i got out of the room one of the vampire henchlings stood next the door he seemed bored but when i got out he sighed out of relieve and pushed the girl in front of me.

-Finally now is she the one ?

He asked as i inspected the girl...she had long blonde hair and blue eyes matching that of the lad her appearance was cute and small she looked no more then 8 years old and was frightened while holding her stuffed doll in her hands as if expecting it defend her.The henchling gave me back the photo locket that i gave him previously to search for this girl and i looked closer comparing the photo of these two and in the end it matched 100%.

The pure girl was scared witless and i could see traces of bruises on on her left cheek for a moment i stared daggers at the henchling making him quite nervous by doing so making him run away at the end.

I leaned down to the little girl and asked her.

-Whats your name ?

I tried to keep a friendly smile but i knew it was failing she glanced at me once and was scared even more hugging her doll tighter.

-Br...brother said talking to strangers was not allowed...

I scratched my head a bit troubled and said.

-Your brother is right so how about you and i become friends ?Then we're not strangers anymore right ?

This time i didn't try to smile i just tried to be sincere.The girl looked at me and nodded slowly and said.

-But brother said you can't just become friends just like that.

I didn't really know what a friend was because i myself never had one before.

-So what do i need to do to become friends with you ?

I asked actually really curious to her answer...the blond girl thought for a bit and said happily.

-Lets play together !

And just like that i was dragged by the girl into the big city to play with her.We did many things she liked to do like playing tag throwing ball and watching a street play i even bought her some sweets she liked the pure girl seemed to be really hungry too so i bought her a nice meal her dress wasn't in a good condition either having a lot of stitches in it and ripped areas i offered her to buy a better dress but she refused and instead wanted me to buy something close to my clothing which was actually primarily for quick movement and disguise but other then that she didn't want anything else and i couldn't really say no so we entered a tailor shop and bought her a set of clothes which she put on right away.

-Do i look cool ?

She asked puffing up her chest i giggled for a bit and just nodded to her making her even more happier she still held onto the old stuffed doll while we were having fun i asked about some things about her life like where she lived or who was looking after her she answered them easily but i could hear a slight sad voice when she did.She only directly answered those questions as "I live in the south district" and "I live alone" she didn't say anything about her brother but i could tell she was in pain so i didn't want to bring it up and just had more fun with her until evening..In the end i couldn't get a name out of her because we still weren't really friends.

I looked up to the sun and judged the time it was about time to go "home" finally i looked at the small blond girl that was standing by my side she was still playing with her stuffed doll happily i got down to her level and said.

-Little one i have to leave now...

The little girl hearing my words frowned a lot and looked really heartbroken i could see tears swelling up in her eyes but she didn't want to show them to me and just looked the other way.

-Really...i see then we won't become friends i guess maybe you could stay a bit more so we could become friends.

Her funny little attempt to keep me here was truly amusing but at the same time i was surprised how it almost worked how i almost said "yes" to her and just kept playing i looked to my left where the exit to the city was and back to the little girl who seemed really sad i knew what would happen once i would leave the girl would experience very much hardships in her age and probably die very shortly so i had a thought in mind and asked her.

-Do you want to come with me ? We can become friends if you come with me

I stretched my hand towards her she looked at it and then back to me she was hesitant understandable but at the same time she seemed longing for it and finally grabbed onto it and like so we left the city into the forest.

-Where are we going ?

Asked the little girl she seemed happy holding my hand jumping up and down humming a sound.

-We are meeting another friend i know you two will like each other.

I smiled this time a bit more natural then usually i think its because i was at ease.I didn't know how artemis would react to her but i was sure it would be positive.

The little girl nodded to my answer and so we got deeper into the forest.As we walked deeper into the forest you could see grey clouds collecting where artemis had her hut i was a bit suspicious concerning the clouds because of their unnatural appearance and like that a thunder stroke down....

I was startled for a second seeing thunder strike for a moment i feared artemis could have been harmed but at the same time i also noticed that the thunder strike was summoned not naturally caused there was a faint leak of energy which was completely unknown to me leaking out...

The little girl on my side was scared of the thunder strike and quickly held my hand tighter from here to artemises hut would be only 20 steps and next us was a small cave which i was familiar with it was the cave i used to hide myself the first time around this time i was going to use it for a different purpose.

-You want me to wait here ?

Asked the little girl a bit scared and panicked at the same time.I nodded to her and said.

-you saw that thunder right its safer if you stay here don't worry i come back and get you.

-liar ! brother also said he would return but he never did !

She cried with he eyes red the tears were falling down from those blue spots on her eyes as she hugged the strange stuffed toy she had.I felt as if an arrow had suddenly struck me as she called me a liar i was a lot of things a murderer a thief or a fraud but i never was a liar before i always held my word as a man.

I wiped the tears from her cheeks and told her.

-I promise so you should try to trust me a little bit shouldn't you ?

She didn't seem to like it but she pouted for a bit and nodded in the end and before i left she shoved the strange stuffed doll onto me.

-He will protect you and make sure you will return !

I tried to tell her that it was better that she held onto him rather then give it to me but she didn't yield and wanted me to have it or she didn't let me go so the only thing i could do was take it and like that i left.

(WHUMP)

Another thunder stroke as i was running to artemises hut i could see smoke coming from that direction making me anxiety even more more heavier then it was.

After one more step i finally arrived at the place and what i found stroke terror to my heart the hut that was once here was now obliterated into thousand pieces burning up left to right but that wasn't important what was important was where artemis was...

-I am not going !

Someone shouted i knew the voice even from miles away...it was artemis !

I quickly sped up to the direction the voice came and finally found her bound to a tree and next to her stood a old man holding a lightning spear in his hand.

-you will come back even if you like it or not !

He bellowed as he hit the ground with his spear causing another round of thunder to appear...i was frantic and quickly run towards the old man dagger drawn as i shouted.

-Go to hell !

The old man looked at me indifferent as if looking at a small bug maybe i was a small bug ?

Artemis was wide eyed as she watched me and shouted "Don't run away"But i couldn't hear her blinded by my rage i was charging at the old man and as i was about to close in he raised his palm and all of a sudden a lightning bolt appeared from it hitting me directly to the chest frying me in the process too.

-NOOOOOOO

Artemis cried as she saw me getting electrified she was in despaired and looked at the old man hateful and said.

-I WILL GO WITH YOU but please spare him heal him please....

The old man was a bit surprised by artemises pleads but he didn't say anything and just nodded pointing his palm at me again a warm light streamed into me healing my wounds but not completely he didn't want me to stand up obviously and even if i did i couldn't do anything...

The bindings that held artemis onto the tree loosened themselves as she ran at me with full force clutching her hand to m cheek i could feel tear drops falling down onto me as she hugged me the old man just turned around not interested the slightest.

-Run...

I said weakly at that artemis just shook her head smiling she said regretfully.

-My love i have to leave for now our love cannot be but remember someday it will be so until that day please hold onto this...

She kissed me very suddenly and i could feel with this kiss she also gave me something extra......some strange powers started to stream inside of me and i could see green light appear on my palms...the old man finally turned around watching the spectacle outraged for some reason he shouted.

-you gave him the GIFT ?!

Artemis seemed angry and shouted back.

-SHUT UP OLD MAN I ALONE DECIDE WHO I GIVE IT TO ! NOT EVEN YOU CAN CONTROL IT.

The old man looked sour but turned around quit talking.Artemis turned back to me and hugged me one more time she whispered.

-One day leraje one day we will meet again i believe in it very hard so believe in it too so remember not even gods are all mighty.

With that said i started to black out and slowly i was losing my conscious the last thing i could remember was artemises sweet smile as i drifted away into sleep.........
