《Hero? I'm assassin, but that's the same right?》Chapter 33. Coming to Millis.

Pyro POV.
After I ditched my minions, and an annoying arachnee, or arachnid queen, I decided on going somewhere where no one would expect me going, the holy kingdom of Milfs... Millis, don't really remember what really milfs means, but whatever it is, it's something insulting, considering I remember only fun or insulting things, and it's not a fun thing. Oh and I cut off some skills, found out that after talking with Kane in his 'dimension' or whatever it is.
What about me? Well you see I liked the idea of 'infiltration', but not as some useless servant in the house of some trashy noble, or being some trashy noble. First one is annoying and troublesome, second is troublesome and annoying. I will never bend my knee to some trash, nor I have enough time to brainwash all the humans I meet, or growing up. I could probably act as the bastard child of some noble, but... don't want to. Better act as the son of some retired adventurer, ambitious farmer, or act as some apprentice, but with my holy affinity it's useless, just as my thoughts on religion. So now I am standing in front of the adventurer guild of Bellhill, rather large town in the west of kingdom. Maybe call it Theocracy? Or Zealotville? Whatever I should call it, I better enter the building, I should act as some bumpkin, but not to this degree. And, as usual, some moron decided to insult me, push me whatever to do to insult me. Did I mention that I supposed to be a REALLY strong bumpkin? My current form was that of a well endowed youth, with same height as my main form, which is 1.8 meters (around 6 feet), white hair and bright blue eyes. Yeah, it's generic angelic looks, so it would be much easier to blend in this society, which worships the 'light' goddess, which is probably either some spirit, or annoying bitch, considering that Kane is sometimes act as a moron.
Anyway this time it was without a hitch, I registered as adventurer, got myself a D-rank which is rather good, mostly because I can easily enter party, not like I need it, but I appreciate the chance. First mission I got was gathering a bit of bloodroot, one of the main ingredients for health potions, or only one for lesser to regular potions, if you can control mana like me. For example I don't need any ingredients for creating up to greater versions, but uncommon and higher it's troublesome to say the least. Thing is it's much easier to make mana crystals, gems, basically everything inorganic, than trying to make some organics, as you need to combine a lot of different energies, one of the reason I don't want to make homunculus in this world.
Mission is quite easy, get the roots and bring them as fast as you can, but here's the catch. The closest roots were all picked by some noob. That moron never... oh yeah, it was me. Forgot that I ordered to gather all the valuable items in the Millis. Hey that was a good plan, but I had to modify it a bit, thankfully the private gardens and storages were full of 'illegal' substances, so a few days later the clergy had slight case of 'divine revelation', but it had no effect...

(Well actually... it was-)
NO SPOILERS!!!
Yeah, sorry about that, Kane's brother Nar, or Narrator usually-
(Nope, you see, I prefer writing everything down, for future generations of monkeys, or lizards, or some other developed primitive.)
See? He considers... *sigh*
So yeah, no bloodroot for my quest. Oh woe is me, the forest is... maybe try it? At this time other me would say something, but he was blocked, along with Bianca and Golm, though I don't know how Golm managed to enter our private chat. Anyway, with the plan decided I proceeded on the other quest I took, namely hunt the wolves in the area.
After a while I found wolves, killed them, got proof, which is a pelt by the way, and now I am near the city, trying to get in.
“Come on guys! It's not even dusk!” I complained to those idiots. No really, if you don't want for people to enter the city just post some morons on the watch and close the gates.
“No can do. Orders from captain, no one gets out of the city.” (Guard 1)
“But I try get in!” (Pyro)
“Oh really? Then come in. Note that you are not allowed to go out of the city if you get inside the walls.” (Guard 1)
“What happened, is there some plague or what?” (Pyro)
“No it's, how did the captain called it again?” (Guard 1)
“He's right, it's plague. But captain said to deter everyone from entering city too.” (Guard 2)
“Uh, what's a plague again?” (Guard 1)
“Yeah, got it. But what type of plague.”
“Dunno.” (Guard 2)
“So quests are failed. Oh well, if I manage to get in a few days into the other guild, I can probably... say, where is the nearest place with adventurer guild?” (Pyro)
“There is a village two days to the north by carriage, so about five days by foot. Just follow the road.” At least second guard is more competent than first one. OK time to move- “Also you should check a village not far from here, you can buy supplies for traveling as well as a horse. It's a day on foot, also to the north, the road forks there, so you won't get lost.” where's there? Oh well, I guess I'll find out.
“Do you know when the ban gets lifted” (Pyro)
“It started today at noon, so I guess... few months.” oh well, not my problem. Thank you guard 2, whatever your actual name is. Anyway, the road awaits!
I was standing at the crossroads. Go north and travel to city, east to the village, west to get lost or go south to make journey pointless, I decided to go east, and then continue on the travel. Well it was more of an approximate directions, but still it was better than not knowing at all.
Funny thing is that after two hours I was at the village entrance, if the village was located a bit closer to road it would be quite rich, logically speaking that is. Despite village being only two hours from the road, it was poor, like completely. I really thought that I came to a ruined village, but no. Those villagers say it was like that for a long time. Unfortunately the village doesn't have horses, and to plow the field they use themselves, they could use goats... probably, I'm not a farmer or G*****... G*****? Fine! Be it your way!

Oh where was I? Right. This village was poor, unkempt and really ugly, as well as smelly. Holy kingdom with such villages as this it's a miracle they survived, maybe they have some miracle worker or something? Anyway I bought few supplies and when I was going to go on my way I was greeted by the village elder.
“Young man, would you like to purchase something else as well?” why do I get the same feeling from him as with those clingy merchants?
“What can you offer?” main rule when trading, act barely interested. When someone starts explaining benefits of something, act indifferently.
“Servants.” … That's useless. “Males, females, all young and healthy.” I doubt the healthy part... also it seems like he sells slaves, not servants.
“Why do I get a feeling that you sell slaves?” no really, it's like I will buy slave, but only without the collar or something like that.
“Goddess forbid. There is no human slavery in our kingdom.” still there is slavery. “Servants are the people who-”
“Yes, I know, but still not interested.” I have enough 'servants' as is.
“Good proposal. Twenty silver for-” (Elder)
“Can't see merchandise, no approximate value, no deal.” (Pyro)
“Oh I can show you one of the servants. She's-” Can't see why elder is so determined to sell me something, or someone.
“Can she handle a spear, bow or some other weapon?” If I'm going to buy it... her. Then... wait a minute. I wasn't going to buy her. 'Status buffs'.

“Now care to explain yourself? What magic that was?” (Pyro)
“I-I-I d-d-don't kn-n-now!” (Elder)
“Whatever it was, it wasn't good for me, and therefore for you.” Smile sinisterly and-
“I'll give her for free!” not what I expected, but OK.
“Only 'her'?”
“She's the only one left! I... I can pay you!”
“Not interested.”
“I need to-”
“Old man. I. Don't. Need. Your. Money. Or. Wares.”
“You need to take my niece away! They will kill her otherwise!”
“Who's she anyway?”
“Witch!” now that's strange. I never heard of one before... now it would be a good time for Bianca's explanation, but... well at least she won't get on my nerves.
“Witch? Like she is a sorceress?”
“No, she's...”
“Tis I who-” (Witch)
“Yeah, tried to 'charm' me. I want an explanation.” looking at this 'witch' I can tell that she's quite young... wait... NOPE!!! NARRATOR!!! YOU SON OF A ******!!! I DON'T NEED A LOLI!!! Fuck! It's not the fucking Death March!
“You see, I need to-” (Witch)
“Yeah, got it, you need to get as far from this place as you can, or you will be executed, tortured whatever by 'them'.”
“That is... correct. Still-” (Witch)
“Why me though?”
“She won't survive on her own.” (Elder)
“I can-” (Witch)
“What are your affinities?”
“... Don't know... In this kingdom mages are being-” (Witch)
“Oh... that's why there was no magicians in the guild. Fucking zealots. Good thing that I wasn't born here, no offense.”
“None taken. Will you allow me to travel with you?” … 'Appraisal'

“So... Linda... What the hell elf is doing here?” No really, why would elf be in the most racist human kingdom, who even despise magic?
“Elf? I'm human! High human, but still human!” (Witch)
“High Elf-High Human hybrid to be precise. And before you ask something, I have the almighty Appraisal-sama! Oh and your stats are lame.” (Pyro)
“Wait, what? Who are-”
“You see, I'm actually the from the race which those pesky humans of Millis almost exterminated. Originally this land was inhabited by race of winged humans, once called angels. Our race helped the humans to settle when they first came here. First it was OK, humans and angels were living peacefully, but then our leader was killed, by those treacherous bastards, and the war started, well more like massacre. Our people were almost wiped out, except for a small village, but now even it was destroyed by what you call adventurers. Now only three of us left, and now I am searching for my brother and sister, to bring them grim news.”
“... OK... what was that?”
“Oh and goddess of light is just some annoying spirit, which get itself too much of an ego, and the reason for our leader downfall, as she was the contracted spirit.”
“So... are you-” to make the lie more believable I sprouted my illusory wings. They were just pure white, so now I had somewhat strange looks with that white hair and wings and clad in leather armor.
“See? Angel. And angels know better of what race are you, as well as how strong are you. We have quite peculiar eyes, which allow us to discern the values of a person.”
“So... will you take me with you?”
“Eh... why not? I never met a witch anyway.
