Chapter 12 End of a Nightmare and We Have a Mole

Benny’s POV

Right now, I am in a fight with the leader of the group from Hex. His name is Alpha and he’s a werewolf. Why do I always have to fight the weird one’s? Sei took out Beta in her dragon form which completely surprised me. Zen crushed Delta with a talking sword and unique sword techniques. I can't let them show me up. So, I guess I will go all out as well. I see a giant rock and I use my webbing to catch it and sling the boulder at Alpha.

Benny: Hey Fido, fetch.

I sling the boulder at Alpha and he does catch it. This dog is pretty quick. Alpha tries to use his claws to grab me. But, I swing to another building. We play this game of cat and mouse and he is getting annoyed. I turn around and do a swinging kick and he is sent flying. He gets back up and now, he’s super annoyed.

Alpha: STAY STILL SO I CAN KILL YOU!

Benny: I would have to be stupid to do that. You’re bigger than me.

Alpha rushes at me losing out to his rage just as I planned. He has failed to notice the tiny webbing I have been placing in his path while I was swinging around. After all, I have not just been swinging around for nothing. Like a fly, he fell into this spider's trap. He can no longer move.

Alpha: WHAT DID YOU DO? I CAN'T MOVE!

Benny: Just a little trap. I always got to think ahead. SPIDER VENMON!

My nails grow and I pierce his body. It paralyzes him so that he can no longer move. Then, I wrap him up just to be safe. Zen and Sei come over.

Sei: Who hired you?

Alpha: I can't talk. They’ll kill me.

Zen draws his sword and he holds it up against Alpha's neck.

Zen: I am still in a bad mood because at that nightmare. If you don't talk, I will kill you. It’s the middle of the night; everyone is a sleep and won't wake up. They don't even know that you are here. I can commit the perfect crime.

Alpha: I thought this was a school for hero’s.

Zen: I am neutral. Now talk.

Alpha: Okay I’ll talk. The one who hired us is .........

Benny: SPIDER SENSE TINGLING!

We hear three bangs. Before we can do anything, a bullet launches and hits Alpha in the head. The other two shots take out Delta and Beta.

Zen: SNIPER, EVERYONE GET DOWN!

We all find cover and try to see what direction the bullets came from. But, the sniper is already gone. Son of a Bitch! We lost our chance to get any information.

Sei: Damn it.

Zen: Someone silenced him when he was about to talk. He also took care of the others not giving them a chance either. The sniper is good, really good. I could not even sense him with my Sei. He had to have been a great distance away.

Sei: What are we going to do now?

Benny: Let's help Decklyn and Amy. We can figure it out later.

As we enter the room, we see a portal. That must be something Amy created to enter the Dream Dimension. The three of us jump through. We reach the other side and see Decklyn fighting all the kid's nightmares. They’re being controlled by Nightmare. He is using them as an army against Decklyn. Deck practices stick fighting and is beating down the nightmares with his metal rods. Zen and I go over to help him as he is finishing up a beat-down of a shark.

Decklyn: Take that jaws. Who is the Apex predator now?

Benny: Deck you okay?

Decklyn: I’m fine. But these things just keep on coming. Some of these kids are really disturbing. How’d things go on your end?

Nightmare: YOU FOOLS DARE TO GO AGAINST ME. IN THE DREAM WORLD, I AM A KING…… MUHAHAHAHAH.

Zen: Great, another villain with a king complex.

Decklyn: I have a way to beat him. But, I need to look into his eye's directly, I can't do that with all these nightmares blocking my path.

Creepy Dolly: Play with me FOREVER!

Zen: AHHHH, TAKE THAT SPAWN OF CHUCKIE!

Zen uses his sword and slashes the head off the doll.

Zen: Who’s fear was that?

Sei: Mine. That thing was so creepy. I don't know why my grandma gave it to me when I was a kid.

Sei and Amy went over to the kids. They managed to help comfort them so that no new nightmares joined in on the attack. Amy used a spell to shield them from Nightmare's attack. Now, there is only the remaining nightmares left to destroy. The four of us clear a path for Decklyn. Zen slashes a snake; I kick a clown; Sei punches a bully and Amy zaps a leprechaun. Who the hell is afraid of a leprechaun? Decklyn races towards Nightmare and continues the battle.

Nightmare: SHOW ME YOUR FEAR!

Decklyn: You are not the only one who knows how to manipulate fear DEVIL EYES!

It’s a contest of wills between Nightmare and Decklyn.

Nightmare: WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING? WHY ARE YOU NOT SCARED?

Decklyn; I am scared. But, I am also brave. The only way to go up against fear is to stand up against it. Can you stand up against your own fear? You fear Hope. Your fear is that all the people in the world will gain courage and hope. You may be a nightmare, BUT I AM THE DEVIL AND WHEN YOU WAKE UP, I’ll STILL BE HERE!

Decklyn’s eyes shine a brighter green than I have ever seen and Nightmare succumbs to his own fear.

Nightmare: NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! My power, it’s gone.

Amy: CAGE OF THE SANDMAN!

Amy captures Nightmare while he is weak and puts him in an hourglass.

Amy: This was made by the Sandman, Master of Sleep and Dreams. Nightmare won’t be able to escape this as weak as he is now. I will ship him off to my father in the morning.

After we lock down Nightmare, we call campus security and tell them the whole story. They take away Nightmare and the rest of us go to the seal that encircles the campus to keep us safe from intruders.

Amy: The seal was broken from the inside. The person that tampered with my dad's seal is on the island.

Zen: Not to mention, letting the sniper in.

Sei: We can only draw one conclusion.

Benny: There is a mole in Avengers’ Academy.

Decklyn: Duh… Duh…. Duuh.

Amy: Why did you do that?

Decklyn: Dramatic effect.

Amy: Can you ever be serious? This is a huge problem. There is a mole or moles in the school.

Decklyn: That is tomorrow’s problem. Tonight, I’m going to bed.

Zen: Agreed.

Sei: I am sleepy.

We all decide to go to bed and leave the Mole issue for another time.

???’s POV

???: Boss, the group from Hex has failed.

Boss: What happened?

???: We encountered unexpected variables.

Boss: Unexpected variables?

???: Freshmen. I spent a couple of years here and know all the top players: Petra Parker,The Prince of Wakanda Ochaka, Illiya Romanov, James Rodgers, Tommy Banner, Torin Odinson, and Logan Macalister. None of Them stopped the Attack. It was five new faces.

Boss: Put them on the watch list. What are their names?

???: Amanda Strange, Decklyn Murdoch, Benjamin Parker, Seiryu Yang, and Zentora Shade. Those are the Five we’ll need to keep an eye on.

Boss: Thanks for the information. The academy expects great things from you, Code Name Camouflage. Continue your mission. HAIL HYDRA!

Camouflage: HAIL HYDRA!

You five stopped my plan because you were an unexpected variable. It won't happen again. Ha..ha..ha..ha..ha..ha..ha..ha..ha…..
