Chapter 24: This is the Police!

“Uwaaah!” (Zoe)

Upon reaching the city of angels, Zoe and the rest all exclaimed in wonderment at the sight of a city floating in the clouds with winged people flying about.

“Birdies!” (Zoe)

No, no matter how you see it, they’re people with wings!

How come when Zoe said it, I feel like she was looking at birds with human parts!?

“How pretty!” (Mica)

“I also want wings!” (Geo)

I smiled at their reactions and made wings out of illusions on all of them.

The girls cheered while looking at their wings and flew all around as they shouted their greetings to the angels passing by.

We flew around the city of angels just for fun and played all day long.

If other players were to see us, no doubt they will curse: ‘You’re in a floating city and you’re not even trying to get quests!?’ or something.

The next day, we went around the angel city and talked with the residents.

“Adventurers, please help us. Our kids went around playing in the border and haven’t gotten back yet. I’m worried something might’ve happened to them.”

“Please don’t worry miss. We’ll find your kids!” (Geo)

Geo, being the ‘hero’ in our party, hurriedly reassured the angel with her pretty boy-like smile.

I swear the angel woman just blush just now.

Well, it can’t be helped. After all, Geo’s the typical pretty boy character...well, she’s a girl though.

We went to where the kids were last scene and Livia casted a spell.

“[Nature’s Memory].” (Livia)

Suddenly, transparent holographic images flashed and moved.

We saw 7 kids flying around the area, playing tag when all of a sudden, chains appeared from below and dragged them down.

Fumu, this should be the illegal Angel Fishing.

A long time ago, some pirates started to fish for mermaids. Of course, such things were banned and they were quickly caught.

But from this, some people gained other ideas.

What if we fish for angels?

So weapons that would shoot out chained hooks started to appear angel trafficking became a thing.

Geo and the girls were enraged so they flew down to the earth to hunt down the criminals.

From the memory, it seems that the kids were captured just a few hours ago.

There were also visible carriage tracks on the ground so it wasn’t a problem to find where the criminals are.

Before we went in, Geo created an illusion outfit for her and became a policewoman!

“This is the police! Put your hands up and your weapons down! You are all under arrest!”

...This girl wants to play cop at a time like this...nice!

However, what kind of police hold a sword and not a gun!?

Also, since you’re not holding a gun, why are you holding the handle like it’s a gun!?

I must say...Geo has become...quite the Nightmare...heh, see what I did there?

The holy ray shot forward and incinerated a few criminals.

“Hmph! Eat this lady’s sword!” (Mica)

Mica charged forward and stabbed one in the mouth...Mica, you didn’t need to put that literally…

I incinerated the man immediately so that the girls won’t see blood too much.

Let’s just let them think that they are monsters that would disappear when killed and drop loots.

I purposely left behind the man’s clothing and equipment when I incinerated him so they can see the loots.

“Woof!” (Zoe)

Zoe barked and turned into a cat person...I’m not even going to retort to that.

She clawed the criminals left and right and jumped around like a cat.

“U-um! I’m sorry!” (Livia)

Livia apologized immediately but her wand shot out a powerful magic that killed a dozen criminals…

“...” (Ina)

Ina...well...she just stood there.

Well, I guess it’s already overkill if she still joined. Rather, it’s already overkill with the four girls!

In no time at all, the criminals were dealt with and we freed the imprisoned children.

It wasn’t just angel kids that they are trafficking, there were also kids from other races so we split up to deliver the kids to their homes.

I wasn’t worried about leaving the girls alone, they have enough power to level a city after all...well, maybe more than just a city...

“Thank you! It’s our good luck that you were nearby, else, I really can’t think what would happen if they weren’t saved!”

“It’s no problem!” (Geo)

And so, we left the angel city with Geo in a happy mood.

“Was it fun? Helping people?” (Max)

“Un!” (Geo)

“Then that’s good.” (Max)

I smiled.

Even though I can say that I don’t care much for other people’s lives, but at the very least, as long as Geo’s happy with helping people, then I’ll also try to help as much as I can.

“Alright! Zoe, let’s go find the kemonomimi kingdom!” (Max)

“KEMONOMIMI!!!” (Zoe)

I laughed at Zoe’s super excited reaction.

“Max! I want to keep one as my pet!” (Zoe)

“Haha, okay, okay~ Do you want a dog or a cat?” (Max)

“Dog!” (Zoe)

“Yosh yosh, good girl good girl~ I’ll give you a dog later~” (Max)

Laughing, I rubbed her chin and stroke her head.
