《Divine Dragon》Chapter 14: The Roaming Dragon Division

Instructor Sheng’s face turned cold as he heard the man say that he had recommended him to become the Head of the new Division. In a frigid voice he said, “Why did you do that old friend?”
The Chief let out a wry smile as he had expected this and sighed, “Lately, there have been more and more of these attacks. This Division will be the show of might for our Academy. If the Head is only a mediocre person then all face for our academy will be lost.”
Instructor Sheng tried to keep up the cold face but could only sigh deeply as he said, “I understand why you did what you did and why you recommended me but you could have consulted me first.” The Chief gave an apologetic smile as he said, “If I had, you would have been dead set on declining this position.”
Instructor Sheng gave a wry smile to that statement and redirected the topic, “What made you think of this Division in the first place?” The Chief’s gaze grew distant as he said, “I have had this thought for a few hundred years actually but currently, the situation is playing out most favourably to having it done.” He took a breath and rose from his seat and said, “As you also said, these attacks have become more frequent in the last couple of decades. The current system worked before however, for situations like these, it is far too slow. All of the people involved will be gone like the wind before we manage to even get the paper work for it done and people deployed.”
Instructor Sheng could only nod his head in agreement. The system they had before had worked out well and was sufficiently fast but currently, there were far more attacks on the people affiliated with their Academy than in the past.
Since times change, some things need to change with them. In the current case, it meant that they needed to create a new Division whose goal was to deal with these kinds of situations. Instructor Sheng then sighed as he asked, “How is it going with the new Division?”
The Chief answered, “They are truly thinking about it. The Heavenly Instructors have pitched in some ideas on how to set it up and how it should operate. There have been some problems but they have managed to work out the main outline of the Division and it’s main method of operation.” Instructor Sheng nodded his head and sighed.
They truly were lacking in the regard of a swift strike force that dealt with all of these kinds of situations on a moment’s notice but setting up this kind of a new Division needed time and planning. You couldn’t make one just because you wanted to and it all immediately worked. As Curo stood to the side, he was wondering on how this was going to affect him.
As Curo was mulling over the possibilities, a knock sounded on the door and it opened. When the two figures, one burly man and a young girl with emerald green eyes walked in, Curo was startled. He immediately went to the side and cupped his hands in greeting towards the two. The burly man was Qing Zhao and the young woman was the Headmistress Xi Qing.

When the two saw Curo’s respectful demeanour, they both gave him a nod and then walked in front of the table. Both Instructor Sheng and the Enforcement Hall Chief stood up and respectfully greeted the two. After the greetings, Qing Zhao said, “It is good that you are here Sheng Shi. I presume you have heard about the new Division?” Instructor Sheng nodded his head and said, “I just heard about it.”
Qing Zhao then nodded his head and continued, “This matter has been settled. The new Division, The Roaming Dragon Division will be formed over the next half a year. Sheng Shi, you have now been appointed as the Division Head.” Instructor Sheng let out a sigh but nodded his head, accepting the new arrangements. He then glanced at Curo and asked, “However, as for the Student appointed to me….” Qing Zhao furrowed his brows and asked, “Is there any problem with him?”
Instructor Sheng shook his shoulder’s and said, “It isn’t that there is any problem with him but you should know the best that my temper isn’t the most suitable for teaching youngsters. I am afraid that I will hinder his progress more than I would help advance it.” Qing Zhao relaxed his eyebrows but before he could say anything, Instructor Sheng continued, “He is honestly a good helper, however, I fear that my methods of teaching are not adequate enough to teach someone as monstrously talented as him.” After everyone in the room heard this, they furrowed their brows.
Qing Zhao then sighed, “I chose you for this task because you are the only person in the Academy that is up to the task. You may have an explosive temper but no Sovereign was raised in a green house. Besides that, you are the only person in this Academy that has any knowledge about his Cultivation Art and his Halberd Art.” Instructor Sheng’s face turned thoughtful as he pondered over it and then turned to Curo and asked, “What Art do you train in?” Curo immediately answered, “The [Dragon Human Unification Art].” Hearing this, instructor Sheng’s eyes turned wide as his gaze turned towards Qing Zhao and he asked in a hoarse voice, “How is this possible?”
Qing Zhao’s face turned serious as a ripple of Qi emanated from his body and sealed the entire room. He then said, “Ancestor Jing Fang lives and this boy, has already passed the Dragon Form Awakening.” Instructor Sheng’s eyes turned wide as he hurriedly grasped Curo’s hand and sent a bit of Qi inside to investigate his body. After confirming what Qing Zhao had said was true, his face turned serious as he evaluated the boy in front of him with utmost seriousness for the first time.
Qing Zhao then gave a bitter smile and said, “As a person that also trains in the [Dragon Human Unification Art] you should know how hard it is to train and how little someone who hasn’t trained in the Art can help you along the way.” Instructor Sheng closed his eyes in thought as he seemed to drown in memories.

As everyone quietly waited, Instructor Sheng suddenly opened his eyes and instead of the murky green eyes they used to be, now they were sapphire blue reptilian eyes. When Curo saw these eyes, his body throbbed as if his blood was calling out to the man.
Sensing this, Instructor Sheng sighed deeply and said, “I had thought for so many years that I was the last of the Jing Bloodline and I would have to take this Art and lineage to the grave with me.” Curo gave a wry smile to that sentence but didn’t say anything.
Instructor Sheng then turned towards Qing Zhao and said, “I will teach him however, if he finds my methods too severe for him and decides to change Instructors, I hope that you won’t create too much trouble for him.” Qing Zhao nodded his head and said, “Don’t worry, if the time comes, we won’t create any obstructions to him.”
Instructor Sheng nodded his head and then asked, “How will this Roaming Dragon Division operate?” Qing Zhao thought for a moment and then started explaining, “There will be several squads that will be stationed in various affiliated Clans or Schools and should something happen, they will contact the Academy. Then you will send out a squad to assist. In these matters, results first, then paper work.” Instructor Sheng nodded his head and indicated that he understood.
Qing Zhao then continued, “You will be given full authority over the Division and once someone breaks the rules, you deal with it. Also, you will have a bounty and a missions board that will offer these missions. As of now, amongst the Student’s, Only Elders will be able to join the Roaming Dragon Division but even then, there will be several limitations. As for the Student that will assigned to you, they will take on the role of Deputy Head.”
Hearing this, Instructor Sheng’s and Enforcement Hall Chief’s brows furrowed as Instructor Sheng asked, “Isn’t that a little too much power to give to a Student?” Qing Zhao then smiled and asked, “Isn’t the student under you someone that is qualified to hold such a position?” Instructor Sheng could only shut his mouth as he could not say anything about it.
Curo’s current achievements were truly too dazzling to find fault with it. No student in the history of the Academy had achieved the feat of immediately ranking as the Number One of the Humans Ranking the day they entered the Academy. If his score was compared to the Earth Ranking, he would be at the decent middle rankings. This all combined with the fact that his strength had grown now, he could probably endure the 27th wave of the Purgatory Formation now.
With a score like that, he could probably enter the top 50 rankings of the Earth Ranking. Thinking this far Instructor Sheng’s eyes turned complicated as he suddenly asked, “What are we going to do about this brats growth?” Qing Zhao and Xi Qing looked at each other in confusion as Xi Qing asked, “What do you mean?”
Instructor Sheng then said, “His growth for the next few year will be extremely rapid. Give him a year or two and he will beat the Battle Score of the Number One on the Earth Ranking.” Instructor Sheng then elaborated, “The 5 to 10 years after Awakening Ones Dragon Form is known as the “Rapid Growth Period”. His Fleshly Body, Cultivation and Comprehension Ability will rise rapidly. After the “Rapid Growth Period” it will grind to a snails pace compared to before but it will still be two or three times faster than a Peerless Genius Level Talent.”
He then looked at Curo with an awkward gaze and said, “In this brat’s case, it will be five to six times faster than normal cultivation speed of a Peerless Genius Level Talent.” Hearing this, Xi Qing looked at Qing Zhao with a complicated expression as well. If he truly managed to surpass the Battle Score of the Number One of the Earth Rankings, while he had only been in the Academy for a year or two, then wouldn’t that be unfair to him?
The rewards the Earth Ranking Number One received each month was over a dozen times more generous than a Human Ranking Number One. Qing Zhao rubbed the bridge of his nose and said with a heavy sigh, “Seems like we need to readjust the Ranking Rewards as well to ensure fairness.” Curo let out an apologetic smile as he heard this.
It seemed like the moment he arrived in the Academy, he had caused several headaches for the higher ups of the Academy. Taking the fact that he had been enrolled in the Academy for only a day into account, it seemed like an accomplishment in itself.
Qing Zhao then turned to Curo and said, “We also reached an agreement on your reward for placing First in the Entrance Examinations. It has already been delivered to your courtyard. Hearing this Curo nodded his head and Qing Zhao continued, “For now, it would be best to wrap it up for today. Sheng Shi and Feng Mu, put together a list of names that you would recommend for the Roaming Dragon Division. Also Sheng Shi, make preparations for taking charge of this new Division.” Acknowledging the order, the two cupped their hands and gave a slight bow.
Qing Zhao gave a nod to the two and after giving a glance at Curo, he sighed as he left the room with Xi Qing.
After the two had left, Curo asked, “I know that Instructor Qing is strong but why does it seems like he holds more power in the Academy than the Headmistress?”

It Started with Slime
Before we jump in, let me say that the MC starts stupid, so the language and writing style is straightforward to reflect this. The writing improves with the MC and as the chapters progress (I hope). It is also a gradual growth story, so no zero to hero in ten seconds... with that out of the way: An alchemical experiment has gone wrong and results in a Slime Monster. It doesn't have a name at first and is something that it will need to work out! This story follows a Slime that starts as a Micro Slime with some level of consciousness, and there is more to it than meets the eye. Survival is the name of the game. To improve, it works hard to grow, evolve and become more powerful to survive its harsh new reality. There is a lot more going, and only time will tell if this Slime (all its various versions) can become strong enough to make it through the strife to the other side. It's a harsh world, after all. It Started with Slime is a story with a Monster Protagonist Evolution story. There will be no profanity and no sexual content, and there will be some violence and fighting descriptions. I am a native English speaker, and so the English here should be to a good standard. That said, even though editing, there may be some corrections and typos, so if you see some, let me know! If it bothers you a lot, I am working to make sure all chapters have no typos, but of course, some might slip through. I will endeavour to correct any picked up, though! Also, I started this a few months ago and so any feedback is always appreciated, also reviews and ratings! If you like or don't like the story, let me know in the detailed reviews! That always helps me see what is good and what needs improving. Working on releasing chapters twice a week, I will try to increase that as time goes, but at the moment, that is what I can release. Patreon has more. If the story gets more popular, then I will increase the releases. I am aiming ultimately for a chapter a day if I can get to that. Chapters are roughly 1500 words, with Interludes every five chapters being more or less than that! Enjoy! Edit: Book 1 finished on Patreon, and the format for Book 2 is slightly different with Interludes every three chapters, and the release schedule will be three chapters a week. Cover by: Faren Discord: https://discord.gg/eDuZaEAAqG This story is published and available on Royalroad, Webnovel, ScribbleHub, Wattpad, and extra chapters on Patreon!

Before you start reading, I would like to say a few words. For starters, I never thought I would one day publish something on this website, and I want to thank all the other authors who inspired me to do so. I would also like to thank whoever spends their time to read my novel—it means a lot. So, thank you. Finally, I think it is imperative I warn you. I’m not a native English speaker: English is not my first language. If you see mistakes, feel free to point them out. I will correct them as soon as I have the time to do so. An Invisible Girl
Not all Isekai is Human This is the story of the last survivor of her race, who is offered the option to be reborn in another world to continue the fight against the monsters that consumed her species. The new world is a horrible death world. It is filled with both beauty and horror, strange sentients of various types and perhaps the most dangerous monsters ever conceived. Humans. Two aliens. two violently opposed cultures. Is One little world big enough for both of them? First note: Please don't expect immediate action and slaughter and sex. There's a lot of conversation, drama, and interaction, as she learns about her new world. Second note: This is not 'humans as monsters'. It is more like "There are monsters, but humans can make their own". Technically I guess it qualifies as a system apocalypse, but it never really hits the apocalypse parts. Third note: This IS a Litrpg and the 'classes' provide some superhero-style action, eventually. It isn't strictly superhero, though. a lot of bits are contemporary fantasy, some are pure sci-fi, and some are superhero, depending on how people choose their new abilities. The overall theme is technically sci-fi, but soft like a baby. Fourth note: there is some sexuality (not sex) involving a protagonist in a 17-year-old body. Her mind is over 50 years old, though, and the body was created at that age in order to give her 6 months' leeway to learn to be human. This is not juvenile sex stuff, as the character is fully adult, just not adult as a Human.Plus it's mostly included for humor and alien context.
