《Divine Dragon》Chapter 8: Going to the Examinations.

As Curo stared at the gigantic dragon in front of him, he drew a deep breath. He slowly walked in front of the giant dragon and then put his hand on the snout of the dragon, the moment he did that, his body fell over and the dragon opened his eyes.
With a growl, Curo’s body started twisting as his body then suddenly turned into the same kind of a jet black dragon that had been in the blank space. When the three hundred meter long dragon opened his eyes, astonishment was evident in them as a voice rang out, “This is?!” Jing Fang and Zhao looked at each other with a smile and Jing Fang said, “This is your Dragon Form.”
Curo turned his head towards the man and waited for him to explain. Jing Fang let out a chuckle as he continued explaining, “As detailed in the [Dragon human Unification Art], this Dragon Form is your second form. You are half human, half dragon. You possess the blood of both lineages and your blood is sufficiently pure to exhibit the Forms of both Lineages.”
Jing Fang’s eyes then turned serious as he said, “You are one soul inhabiting two bodies at the moment, so you can exhibit one form at a time at the moment. However, once you birth your Nascent Soul, you can separate the two bodies with one taking control of the Human Form and the other taking control of the Dragon Form.” He then paused for a moment before he continued, “Since those both bodies will be controlled by you, you actually will have two lives. If either of your bodies should be destroyed for some reason, the other will be able to live on without any repercussions.”
Curo opened his dragon eyes wide as he asked in astonishment, “Is it similar to the creating a Clone?” Jing Fang nodded his head and said, “Hmm, it can be considered so, however, it is different. It is hard to explain. There are many different types of Clones but it is always the same: True Body and Clone Body. However, this Art uses the Dragon Blood in your Lineage and creates another “True Body”.”
Curo thought about it for a moment and then asked cautiously, “Hmm, since it is a True Body, it can cultivate as well as the other Body?” Jing Fang nodded his head and said, “In addition to that, after you have divided the Nascent Soul and Main Soul to take care of each body, there are no limits how far one can go from the other. Also, if you are in a pinch and you can’t defeat the opponent with the two bodies working together, you can fuse the two and double, if not triple your strength.”
Hearing this, Curo was shocked. The man named Zhao then added to the explanation, “Also, since the two bodies are independent from one another, it can also work as a life saving measure by hiding away one of the bodies and not letting anyone know of them.”

He then took a breath and added, “Should some misfortune due to which one of your bodies is destroyed befall on you, you can use the second body to rebuild the first one.” Curo was startled as he moved his body a bit to grow familiar with it. After familiarizing himself with it a bit, Jing Fang then said, “Well, since you are familiar with your body, come on, we need to go to the Entrance Examination.”
Hearing this Curo was startled as he looked towards the two with wide eyes and asked, “Entrance Examination? Shouldn’t that be over 10 months away?” Jing Fang then let out a sigh and said, “You were inside the Blood Cocoon for over ten months. The Entrance Examinations start tomorrow and your Father has already gone to register you and we were more nervous of whether you would be able to come out of the cocoon in time.”
Hearing this, Curo turned back to his human form and after putting on some clothes, he tied his hair together and followed Jing Fang and the man named Zhao towards the Hidden Dragon Academy. Since the Academy was tens of thousands of kilo meters away, Jing Fang wrapped Curo in his Qi as he pulled him in tow. Curo could do nothing but gulp to seeing the movement speed of these two old monsters. He could barely make sense of his surroundings, he could see the movements of objects down below but nearly everything was a giant blur to him.
Just before they reached the Academy, the man named Zhao left the two of them and went on ahead by himself. When the two rendezvoused with Ji Long, Curo was relieved to finally be able to make sense of his surroundings. When Ji Long and Uncle Zheng saw the two arrive, a smile blossomed on their faces. Ji Long led them to a small mansion inside the city and after talking a bit with them, headed off to cultivate. Curo’s uncle Zheng was the same.
After seeing the two of them leave, Curo asked Jing Fang, “Those two, why do I feel similar fluctuations that I feel from you?” Jing Fang then smiled and said, “Those two also underwent the Dragon Blood Transplant. However, their Bloodline isn’t as pure or solid as yours. Regardless, using the Dragon Blood Transplant, the two eliminated the hidden injuries inside them which allowed them to continue their path of cultivating.”
Hearing this, Curo let out a warm smile. It had been a long time since he saw his Father act like this. It truly was a welcomed sight to Curo. After talking a bit to Jing Fang about the Examination, Curo excused himself and went to rest.
In the early hours of the morning, countless people were already gathered in front of the gigantic gates of the Hidden Dragon Academy. There were several dozen people wearing robes with the dragon emblem on them already waiting. No one dared to disturb them and since it wasn’t the time yet, they were all doing their own things.

Some were sitting and cultivating, some were talking amongst themselves. When Curo arrived there, he was accompanied by his Father and Jing Fang. Uncle Zheng seemed to have reached a critical point in his cultivation and Jing Fang told the others not to disturb him. If everything went well, he would be able to enter the Origin Realm by the time Curo finished his Examination.
The trio gathered quite a bit of peculiar gazes from the Seniors of other families present. Since none of them could see through Jing Fang’s cultivation, none of them dared to provoke the latter. As Jing Fang pridefully strode to the front, where only the most powerful Clan’s were, a hushed murmur started echoing in the surroundings. Curo however didn’t pay it any heed as he walked behind his Father with his back straight. When Jing Fang reached the front of the crowd, even the various people from the Hidden Dragon Academy were either openly or stealthily observing them.
When they had reached the front, Jing Fang said something to Curo and Ji Long before he strode towards the Academy. Seeing this, one of the students started walking towards him to obstruct his path but before he could move in front of him, his eyes fell on the medallion that appeared in Jing Fang’s hands. The student’s eyes opened wide as he hastily stepped aside and bowed deeply with cupped hands. Jing Fang let out a snort as he gave a quick glance behind him and strode forward. After Jing Fang entered the Academy, he disappeared from sight.
All the gazes fell onto Curo, who was meditating and Ji Long that was sitting on a small cloud reading a book. Feeling the gazes on their body, Ji Long frowned as he raised his eyes a bit and a suffocating aura descend upon all the prying eyes. One by one, the people let out a wry smile as they cupped their hands in apology. Seeing this, Ji Long let out a snort as well and returned to his reading.
In a corner, a bit away from the two, there was a gathering of four people. As the young man looked at Curo with disdain, he asked the man next to him, “Father, who are those people? I don’t recognize the symbol on their robes.” The man next to him said with narrowed eyes, “If I am not mistaken, that man should be Ji Long and the boy should be Ji Curo.”
Hearing this, the boy’s eyes widened as he asked with a shocked tone, “Wasn’t that boy crippled?” The man kept looking at Curo with a sharp gaze as he said, “Lately, there was a rumour circulating, that he had his meridians fixed and had entered the Foundation Establishment Stage.” Hearing this, the boy took another look at Curo but this time, his eyes were burning with fighting spirit.
The Ji Clan had caused countless rumours and ripples across the Myriad Beasts World and the boy wanted to see just what made them so special. However, as if sensing the battle intent radiating from the youth, the man suddenly said, “It is better not to provoke them. Ji Long himself is someone that has reached Peak Origin Realm now, and the man who entered the Academy is someone we can never provoke.”
Hearing this, the boy looked at the man with a confused expression. The man let out a sigh and said, “Ji Long himself once attended the Academy and if it weren’t for an unfortunate accident that happened during a competition with the Ancient Clans, he would have probably entered the Saint Realm already.” Hearing this, the boy was startled but before he could ask anything, the man continued, “That old man that entered is someone even more ferocious. For the first few days before the Examination entrance is strictly forbidden, even people with an Elders token can not. However, that man flashed a medallion that made the Student moving to block him pale and cup his hands, unless it was the Academy Head level figures, he would never be able to enter like that.” Hearing this, the boy gulped.
In other places, similar discussions filled the air as seniors filled in their youth not to provoke or pick a fight with Curo. Ji Long naturally knew what was going on around them but he decided to not give it any mind. Instead, he had now put away the scroll and said to Curo, without even caring who is listening, “Lil’Curo, listen up. No matter what happens during the examination, don’t push it. If you see that you won’t be able to push yourself to the top 1000, then just give up.”
Hearing this, everyone who heard it raised an eyebrow. Usually, everyone would tell their young ones to give it their all, no matter what the cost. Ji Long then continued, “You still have four more years left to try, if you can’t enter this year, there is always the next one.”
Curo nodded his head solemnly as Ji Long’s mouth curved into a smile and said, “You reached the Peak of Qi Kindling Condensation in only 10 months, given another year, you will definitely be able to enter the Qi Spring Stages, if not, the Qi Sea. Who then would be your opponent?” When the surrounding people heard that, their faces paled.
It was a known fact that a year ago, this boy was a crippled person with no hope to cultivate. However, now he was already at the Peak Stage of Qi Kindling Condensation…. What Ji Long said was true, given another year, it would be a miracle if he was still stuck at the same level.
Curo took in the changing faces around them and chuckled to himself. However, he also felt happy. This was the first time his Father could brag about him so openly and so loudly.
Also, his accomplishments were truly monstrous and Ji Long truly could hold his head high.
