《Divine Dragon》Chapter 3: Battle

As Ji Long walked towards the Xie Clan members, Xie Feng appeared between them. Ji Long’s steps faltered for a moment before an azure blue sword appeared in his hand. Without saying anything more, he charged towards the Xie Clan Ancestor.
It was time to put an end to this feud. As the two powerhouses started their fight, the rest of the Ji Clan also turned their cold eyes towards the remaining Xie Clan members. With a shout, they all stormed towards them. A bloody and bitter battle ensued with flying swords, fire balls, all kinds of spells and all kinds of Artefacts flying about.
As the bitter battle was taking place, Ji Curo stood high in the air with twelve people standing guard around him. The rest had all joined the charge towards the Xie Clan. As Curo stood there, eyes closed, covered in blood, in tattered clothes, a middle aged man offered him a new robe. Curo still had his eyes closed as he took the robe and just put it over his already tattered clothes. The man cautiously asked, “Young Master, what is happening? Your cultivation….”
This was what astounded all of them, the young man in front of them had managed to enter Foundation Establishment. In their hearts, they knew that it was supposed to be impossible as his meridians were supposed to be shattered beyond hope. Curo smiled lightly as he said, “I met a kind Senior that helped me forge new meridians.”
The man’s eyes flickered as he asked, “Was it the mighty dragon from before?” Curo stayed quiet but slightly nodded his head. He then tilted his head as if he was looking down. The middle aged man followed his gaze and he discovered that he was looking towards a low levelled battle ground where the Foundation Establishment level people were gathered.
Amongst them, there were several people that were form Curo’s age group, desperately fighting. Curo then said, “I will head down to help.” Hearing this, the man’s face flashed as he hurriedly said, “No!” Curo didn’t move his head as he said, “This whole thing has happened because of me, I can’t just sit back and let all of you do all of the work.”
The man closed his mouth as he didn’t have anything more to say. Curo then followed up with, “Besides, I wish to see how strong I currently am.” Hearing this, the man’s face turned into an odd look. He wanted to say something but he then let out a sigh as he said, “Okey but no taking pointless risks. We will keep an eye on you and will intervene if I deem it necessary.”
Curo nodded his head as a Guandao Halberd appeared in his hands. The shaft and the blade were both pitch black and had a red vein like patterns on them. On the back end of the halberd was a small tuft of crimson red hair. Seeing this pole arm, the middle aged man’s eyes narrowed.
From the fluctuations the halberd gave off, it was at least a High Grade if not a Top Grade Artefact. Curo took the halberd into his hands and jumped towards the action. The first person he encountered was someone that excelled in hidden attacks. As he hid in other peoples shadow, he carefully bade his time as he waited for the opportunity to strike. Just when he found his next target, he suddenly felt an immense sense of crisis.

As he jumped back in alarm, a pitch black halberd slashed down to where he was standing before. A young boy appeared in front of him and he narrowed his eyes. The boy was Curo. Curo let out a whistle as he said, “You react fast.” His opponent didn’t answer as he lunged forward, intending to take Curo’s life. Curo lightly smiled as he tilted the halberd in his hand and deflected the sword aiming for his heart. With one swift motion, from deflecting the attack, the halberd struck the man in the back of his head and before he could recover form the blow to the head, the halberd had cleanly cut off his head. Curo snatched his Spatial Bag and moved onto his next target.
He didn’t meet anyone that could last for more than a few moves against him and soon, the Xie Clan members started thinning out. Curo himself had killed over a hundred Xie Clan members. All of the Ji Clan members that saw him reaping lives left and right like a God of Death, couldn’t believe their eyes. The crippled Young Master now had a Foundation Establishment cultivation and his attacks were precise and ruthless. There were no useless or pointless movements, each movement had a definite purpose and the blades dance ended with someone being beheaded.
That was what mesmerised them the most, the halberds movements were graceful, elegant as if it was a dance. Some times, it would be forceful, sometimes however, it was gentle. When the remaining Xie Clan members saw that they were losing badly, they scattered. Seeing this, Curo smiled bitterly as he turned to everyone that were staring him.
He said in a clear voice, “Rest up. As for the people that are in a good condition, reinforce the other battlefields.” Hearing this, everyone let out a shout as those that were injured or exhausted sat down to recuperate and those that were fine, quickly adjusted themselves to go and reinforce the other battlegrounds.
Everyone stared at Curo in awe, his strength was truly something that a few present could match. There wasn’t even a shadow of the crippled boy on him any more, only a matchless War God stood with a straight back. Curo was also looking around for a new battleground to go to. However, he frowned as he muttered to himself, “Something seems off….”
Just as he thought that, a weak voice sounded out inside his head, “About the same amount of people that are here, are actually inside the City. The fluctuations they give off are on par with the people that are fighting here.” Hearing this, Curo frowned his brows but as he thought about it, realization came to his face as he directed his face towards the place the two top experts were fighting.
As he observed them, he noticed something; neither of them were fighting at full strength. The fight seemed more like a facade than a true life and death battle. He then scanned his Divine Sense over the people fighting and came to the realization of what was happening. The Xie Clan’s Ancestor and his Father were collaborating.

The Xie Clan was using their Ji Clan to take care of their “problematic branches” while at the same time, the Ji Clan was able to vent their anger towards the Xie Clan. Just as his thoughts reached that far, another familiar voice sounded out in his head, “Seems like you figured it out Curo. I will explain it all later.” This voice belonged to his father Ji Long.
Hearing this, Curo let out a deep breath before the weak voice sounded out again, “Since it is like that, let’s continue. It will take a long time for me to recover but currently, I need a lot more Origin Blood of these little fellows to reach a more stable condition.” Hearing this, Curo nodded his head solemnly as he brandished his Halberd again and rushed towards a new battleground. The bloody battle continued for hours before finally, the Nascent Soul Experts of the Xie Clan started falling and seeing that, the lower level clan members started to make plans for fleeing.
However, the scarlet eyed Ji Clan members did not give them such luxury and using their momentary disruption, quickly dealt with them. When the last rays of sunlight faded over the horizon, the last Xie Clan member was killed. When all of them had died, the two peak existences in the sky also stopped their fight and descended. After putting on a superficial act of it ending in a draw, the Xie Clan Ancestor handed Ji Long a Spatial Ring that contained various high grade elixirs and many other items as a “Token of defeat”.
However, just as Curo could figure out what was happening, the other people also had some idea of what was going on. However, none of them were voiced their discontent towards it. Ultimately, they had massacred nearly half of the remaining Xie Clan and all of these people belonged to the branches that were directly sided or in support of the Xie Huang’s branch. After reorganizing their troops, Ji Long used his Origin Realm cultivation to transport all of the people back to the Ji Clan in one go. After getting back, Ji Long took a few days to organize everything.
All of the wounded were healed, all of the merits were traded for rewards and those that had outstanding merits were given special rewards. Seeing how all of this had been handled, Curo could only smile bitterly at the efficiency of how everything was dealt with. When Curo returned to the Ji Mansion, he was locked his court yard down and ordered no one to disturb him.
Everyone thought that, since now he could finally cultivate, he was going to immediately go to closed door training but actually, Curo was no longer in the courtyard. He was actually at the edges of Ji City, in a mountain range.
He was deep under the mountain and had already carved a gigantic cavern out. Inside the cavern, there laid a feeble gigantic figure. It was a gigantic dragon with pitch black scales. The edges of the scales were trimmed with scarlet red. As it laid there, seemingly in deep slumber, a small figure was in front of it, cultivating. Although, the small figure seemed calm, his heart was pounding rapidly. That was because the Dragon in front of him was at his most crucial step.
If he failed now, his Origin Soul would scatter and the dragon would die. Charging out from down below was an incredibly hard task. The Dragon had been sealed down there for countless years and his cultivation had declined bit by bit. He used the last vestiges of his Qi and even ignite his Life Blood to charge out and even then, they barely made it out. The Dragon had resolved itself to die but neither of them ever expected such a huge battle to erupt the moment they emerged from the ground.
Then, using a Secret Art, every person that Curo killed had their Origin Blood, something even more valuable than Life Blood devoured by the Dragon. They had managed to barely gather enough to hold the Dragon’s Origin Soul together. Currently, it was using massive amounts of Qi, to refine the left over Origin Blood into Origin Energy that would aid it in recovering his Origin Soul.
Suddenly, a deep rumble echoed out and the Dragon let out a deep breath. It opened it’s massive eyes and looked at Curo tenderly, “Thank you little friend.” Curo stood up and smiled, “It was all thanks to Senior that we managed to get out of that place in the first place.”
The Dragon didn’t say anything on the matter any more and asked, “Where are we?” Curo answered him, “In the Myriad Beast World, in the Ji Clan’s grounds.” The Dragon nodded his massive head slightly and suddenly said, “Since I have no home to return to, I will stay here. Bring your Father over tomorrow, then we can talk everything out and explain everything.” Curo was stunned by this statement. Although, the Dragon wasn’t completely healed, he was still stronger than anyone in Myriad Beast World. If he decided to roam around the stars, no man or beast would be able to stand in his way. Curo then talked a bit more with the Dragon and just as he turned around to leave, the Dragon said, “Also, tomorrow, we will start your true training and also….”
The Dragon’s voice grew smaller as he said, “We will fix those eyes of yours.”
