Chapter 30: Visitors
As Nalser exited the farmhouse, he closed his eyes for a moment to exactly discern Curo's location. When he had pinpointed his direction, he let out a breath and withdrew Dreamer from his Spacial Ring. His figure blurred as he disappeared from his original position and he reappeared a few hundred meters away.
He was quite proficient in Phantom Step already and could teleport up to 500 meters with no issue if he was alone, any more than that and he would start feeling the Mana drain increase. If he went all out and tried to escape alone, he could teleport up to 2 kilometers in any given direction if he had a full Mana pool, however after doing so he would be completely out of Mana.
When he reached about 20 meters away from where Curo and the rest were, he decided to stay in the shadows for a second and not move until the other party decided to make a move. He was currently hiding behind a tree in the forest outskirts, at the other side of the road were wheat fields. Nalser sized up the party that had come here and was quite astonished.
There were about 7 people dressed in luxurious clothes and had an arrogant look on their face and behind them stood over a hundred men in full heavy armor. Nalser just sighed as he thought to himself, “Now then, for this kind of party to come out here, they ought to know that they are no match for me. However, I am quite intrigued as to, why they are here now?” Nalser knew very well how the nobles acted.
They tried to flaunt their authority around and would try to coax him into becoming a part of their force. As he settled down behind the tree, he started listening to their conversations. An older man that looked around 50-60 years old was the one speaking the loudest and at the time also had the most arrogant face on. He was dressed in luxurious clothes and was also quite plump. His hair was gray and he seemed to be quite infuriated right now.

He yelled at Lauren, “You little bastard, get the person who “protects” you out here right now. Do you not know on who's grace you are still living?” Hearing this, Nalser wanted to puke. The old man was speaking as if he was a God and thought that living conditions like those were actually good. Nalser felt rage quietly building up, “This is completely ludicrous. Does he fancy himself a God?”
Nalser sighed as he realized that staying behind a tree won't be of much use anyways, so he just started walking toward Lauren. When Curo saw him approach, he immediately let out a happy purr and started “speaking” as if he was complaining about how annoying these guys were.
When everyone's gazes landed on the figure approaching, one man in particular felt as if cold sweat was running down his back like a waterfall. This man was the same elder who was with the group of youngsters earlier in the evening. Nalser walked next to Lauren and said in a gentle voice, “You and Curo go back to the house, there are some sweets and coffee left there. Also, don't tell your mother about this, okey?”
When everyone heard that, they were kind of astonished. This was the first time in their lives, when they saw a youth disregard them as trees in the background. Lauren just nodded and started quickly going back to the house. In the beginning, there were some soldiers who tried to block their path but when Curo turned into his giant form, they quickly cowered away.
When Lauren was out of sight, Nalser turned his cold look towards the little squadron standing in front of him and said, “Now then, I am going to only say this once: You mess with that family in any way even once and I am going to make sure that none of you guys live to see the next day.” With that, he started also walking towards the house and everyone were a bit flabbergasted, for some reason, they felt extraordinary fear towards the youth.
Little did they know that his was one of the new tricks Nalser had come up with. By infusing Mana into killing intent and his words, he could make them subconsciously fear him. The plump man was however too overflowing with his arrogance to realize the threat Nalser posed to him and yelled at him, “This is my town and a little brat from nowhere is trying to intimidate ME? Let me tell you this now, I do what ever the fuck I want in this town and if you threaten me again, I will have you face a fate far worse than-” He couldn't even finish his sentence by the time he was kissing the ground already. Hearing his speech made Nalser nauseous and reminded him of the Neo Soviet Union officers.

No one could register what had happened but by the time they did, they were overcome by absolute terror. Nalser was currently standing in front of the plump man with his foot on his head, holding him pinned to the ground. At the same time he moved out he started infusing Mana into his killing intent and directed it towards the men standing behind the plump man. The feeling they were getting was that, they were mere ants and a furious dragon was looking straight at them.
About half of them felt their feet go weak and their bottoms planted on the ground shivering. There were also a few men who's groin started leaking. Nalser looked at the elderly men in luxurious clothing and said in an ice cold voice, “I honestly don't give a shit who you are. I could force my way through a fully armed, locked down Border Fortress. Do you seriously think that you twerps stand a chance against me if I decided to make a move?” His words penetrated deeply into everyone's hearts and they understood very well, exactly what he meant.
A Border Fortress has nearly a thousand people stationed there and nearly all of them are battle hardened veterans. They however had at most 150 men and nearly every one of them had never seen combat at all. Trying to pick a fight with the youth in front of them was the same as waking a sleeping dragon and expecting it to serve you tea.
The one with the quickest reaction was elder Wang, who was with the youths before, as he hurriedly said in a humble voice, “We understand. We will not mess with the mother daughter pair at all, you can rest assured. If you could release the Mayor, we will be on our way and will not keep an expert such as yourself occupied with us lowly people any longer.”
Hearing this Nalser nodded and started walking away. This time, the plump man did not mutter a word as he raised his head. His face was full of terror as Nalser had put on twice as much pressure on him than he did for the rest. He understood very well, just how lucky he currently had been. He also understood that if the youth had wanted, he could have killed all of them in less than minute.
He turned around and yelled towards the men, “Go back to the mansion.” He felt humiliated but he also felt fear. He knew that he couldn't do anything against him even if he tried. He just had to wait until he left town and then demand interest back from his useless daughter.
Nalser was underneath the tree shade as he saw them leave and seeing the Mayors face, he knew very well what he was thinking. He just sighed and started thinking that maybe it would be better to buy Laura a house in the capital and have Tobias look after her. He sure as Hell wasn't going to leave her here, a place where she would die the second he left.
With that in mind, he turned towards the house and was back in a few minutes. Laura and Lauren were both sitting behind the table with a nervous expression and both jolted the second they heard the door open. When they saw Nalser standing in the door way, they relaxed and Laura asked in a timid voice, “Did they go away?”
Hearing this Nalser just sighed. He knew that Lauren had told her mother what happened. He wasn't angry or anything and just said with a bored face, “If they have even quarter of a brain inside that skull of theirs, they will not dare to move against this house any more.” Hearing this, both the mother and daughter let out a breath of relief. However, the next sentence Nalser said left them dumbstruck.
Nalser said with a serious face, “Laura, would you be interested in moving to Rem'bar?”
