Chapter 24: Origins
As Nalser heard the man, he immediately jolted up. He distanced himself and shock was evident in his eyes. “What the hell? Since when has this guy been following me?” As he thought to himself, he started searching through his memories if he ever felt his presence.
The more he thought about it, the more helpless he felt. Finally he just let out a sigh and said in a low voice, “For the love of, what friggin special ops? I can't even feel someone following me around like this.” He raised his head and looked straight at the man in ninja garbs and asked him in a cold voice, “So, who are you and what do you have to do with me?”
Even the old man was curious and thought to himself, “Well, seems like he is the Young Master of a pretty strong and influential clan but he seems to have no recollection of that. Amusing.” A small smile crept onto his face and he decided that he would not interfere with this matter as long as Nalser wasn't put in danger.
The man in ninja garb just sighed and said, “Currently it is still too early for you too find out about that. However, two things are certain: 1. You will be under our protection and it won't matter who you manage to piss off in this minor world but no one is able to even deal a scratch to you if we step in. 2. The time for you to find out about your origin will come sooner than you think and when you do find out, you will wish you never did.”
After saying that, the man in ninja garb, just disappeared into thin air. Nalser stared at the spot, where the man in ninja garb just was, blankly. “Too much has happened today so processing everything now only leaves me confused.”
Nalser said in an honest tone, he let out a sigh and sat back where the old man was sitting. The old man however just let out a hearty laugh and said, “Well, look at it this way, at least you have some kind of a shield behind your back. You can just think it through before we continue our own conversation.” Nalser smiled wrily to the old man and just closed his eyes and started reorganizing the information he had just obtained.

The sun was starting to set already so the old man just started a fire nearby and let Nalser organize his thoughts. Inwardly however, he was sighing, “Well, seems like he is a bit more unfathomable than I originally thought. The crest that man wore belonged to the Nura clan of the Thousand Demons world and judging by what the man said, he should be the Young Master that mysteriously died at birth.”
As the old man sized up Nalser again, the more he couldn't see through him anymore. Fang Xi felt that this youths future was going to be quite interesting indeed. Xi looked at Mei with a gentle gaze. She had been running around and playing with Curo for most of the day and had now fallen asleep with Curo in her arms. Inside Nalser's head however was reorganization and realization. The more he thought about the mans words, the more he realized that, it was weird that no one managed to find him.
If he was training he didn't find a human presence in 5 kilometer radius and he had never met an adversary that he couldn't beat. After reorganizing and thinking everything through for an hour, he opened his eyes. When he saw that Mei and Curo were sleeping and Xi was just guarding the flame with a nostalgic gaze, he asked him, “Hey, do you know, from which power that man was from and what my relationship with them might be?”
He had deduced that this old man knew more about the circumstances than he did. He was hoping to get at least something out of him. The old man just gave him an apologetic smile and said, “I am as clueless about this as you are but it seems that at least they aren't hostile towards you, so at least that is a plus.” Nalser could also just shrug his shoulders and not think about it anymore, however, that didn't mean that he let down his guard but he instead raised it.
Now he was always keeping and eye on his surroundings and trying to find the mans location as he couldn't be too far away. They chatted a bit more and decided to turn in for the night after they had put down bewildering formations and a few more to keep unwanted guests out.

At the same time Nalser was organizing his thoughts, across the continent the man in ninja garb was getting scolded. “Why did you have to go out and say all that? You could have waited when Nalser was asleep and then contacted that old geezer.” Although the man was scolding him, he didn't have an angry tone neither did he have malice in his eyes only helplessness was reflected in both.
The man in ninja garb removed the scarf from his mouth and said, “Father, why do you not let little brother know about who he is? Why are you keeping in the dark about who he is?” When the scarf was removed a youthful face was revealed, the young man didn't look a day over 23. In his eyes or voice was neither malice or hatred but more like bewilderment.
The man before the youth let out a sigh and patted his head, “His circumstances are far too complicated for that at the moment. After that assassination attempt right after he was born cost the life of his mother and to keep him safe, we had to send him to a minor world. We even had to announce to the world that he died at birth.” When he reached his last sentence, his voice and eyes both grew colder.
He continued with hatred mixed in with his voice, “All because of that stupid shitty divination by an old ghost from god-knows-where, a lot of major powers from outside and from our world tried to kill him.” Hearing this the young man, let out a shocked voice, “Is this true?”
It seemed like that even he didn't know the exact circumstances behind hiding him in a minor world like that. Originally except for his Father only about 7-8 people knew that his second son was alive. The man looked at the youth and said, “Rico, this conversation ends here and return to your duties now.”
The youth didn't dare to dwadle and just saluted before going back to resume his duties as a hidden guard. The old man had nostalgia in his voice when he said, “The shitty prophecy, huh?” He remembered the calamity that happened 15 years ago. When his second son was born, some random old geezer that had 90% success with his prophecies divinated: “In the Nura clan will be born a boy that will be a peerless genius.”
The divination was supposed to be good-willed but in the end some major powers that were in an awkward or hateful relationship with Nura clan, decided not to let the boy live or he would be a very big calamity to them, when he matures. Combining their efforts they have always thought that they had succeeded but reality is the exact opposite.
The leader of the Nura clan looked into the distance coldly, when suddenly another man in ninja garb appeared behind him on one knee and reported, “Sir, the Conference of the 7 Angels has been called. It seems like the Arun clan has completed their preparation and are trying to gain supremacy amongst the 7 Flame Angel Clans.” The Leader of the Nura clan looked at the man with a cold look and said, “Understood, I'll be there in a moment.”
Hearing that reply, the man in ninja garb disappeared. The leader just looked at the sunset for a second again and said in a low voice, “You dip shits tried to kill my second son and are now eyeing the position of the Leader of the 7 Flame Angels. Humph, you will only succeed over my dead body.” With that a murderous aura spread out for a second and the man also disappeared.

The Ginsu Mage
Currently in queue: Episode 13 in progress. Set in the Aurora: Apocalypse universe.Updated every Friday. If it's not updating, I'm working on my other fictions. If nothing's updating, I ran out of whiskey. Be patient. The Gunsu Mage is a hot mess of garbage that should not be taken seriously by anyone. It’s a vaguely-GameLit spoof of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomoni (In Another World With My Smartphone) where the MC ends up in another world and fused with his kitchen applicances, mashed up with fantasy western elements. Dungeons & Dragons meets the Wild West in an alternate high-fantasy timeline. Guns & Goblins. Cowboys & Wizards. Locomotives & Dwarves. Don’t expect great writing, accurate numbers, or common sense. Hell, don’t expect anything — just relax and let it happen.
