Chapter 16: After effects
While Nalser and Curo were sleeping away their exhaustion in the cave, the outside world was in turmoil. Everyone had heard, what happened in the border fortress. Some started seeing Nalser as a Saint, others, well, as a Devil.
***
The royal palace of Nadin was in great uproar. When they recieved the report, about what happened at the border fortress, they were all enraged.
"Your Highness, if it goes on like this, this kingdom is doomed to fall! Not only did we lose one of the Heroes, we also managed to anger the Adventurer's Guild enough that they even moved their headquarters to another kingdom. And now this? A mysterious powerhouse goes and tears our border fortress apart, when we are on lock down. The people are angry as it is, why did we need to lock down the borders. If we don't take precautions, we will soon have a rebellion on our hands!" One of the older noble family leader, with a lot of influence, shouted out. He practically demanded an explanation and a solution on what to do from now on.
The Kings face was ugly beyond anything that anyone of them had ever seen. It seemed like he even hadn't heard the noble demanding an explanation. In his head however, he was cursing, "Ever since "that" person showed up, everything has gone down hill. He told us to summon heroes to fight the demons, we lost three major cities thanks to the rebound, one of the heroes that was delivered, decided to ignore us. The adventurer's guild has moved their headquarters away, the people are furious. We have only lost. We lost half of the kingdoms income, we lost a lot of works force and for what, some bulls*it individuals that are slightly above average. We were promised that when we succeed we will have untold riches awaiting before."

When he had stopped cursing inside his head and raised it to look at his subjects, he saw the main culprit behind their misery walking in through the doors. The man was in his forties, had a rather skinny build and had a long beard. He was dressed completely in white robes that had golden symbols on them. When he entered the room, the King was enraged and immediately barked at him,
" You, you promised us that immense wealth awaited us when we completed the summoning, all that we have recieved are losses." Seeing the King enraged like that, the mysterious man in white robes smiled and said, "All the riches will be delivered to you, when we destroy the demons, After destroying those spawns of Fiend God, all their wealth and riches wait you and you will curry a favor with the Radiant God. " He excluded an aura of holiness and light shone out from behind him, that had a tranquility effect. This magic was actually brainwashing magic. It didn't completely take control of a person but influenced them to do their bidding. Magic like this was actually frowned upon in this world.
From the moment this man entered the room, this conflict amongst themselves was resolved. What they didn't realize though, is that they were all under the control of the Radiant God's church already. With that the meeting had ended.
***
In the neighbouring country of Nulan, the meeting was different. All of the nobles there, had actually taken over a lot from elves, including their oldest saying, "The people aren't there for the King but the King is there for the people."
After hearing the direct report of what had happened from Thomas, Tobias, who was currently also invited to the meeting between nobles and generals, started laughing. "Hahaha, that little lad. I tested him myself and knew he was strong but to do something like this. All i can say is, respect little one."
All the nobles had a smile on their face as well. It wasn't that they were twisted like Nadin's nobles, they all just thought that they got what they deserved. Nadin's political view's were a complete opposite to Nulan's and Nulan's nobles were waiting for a day that it came back to bite them. Clearly, having heard that their locked down border fortress was turned upside down by one person made them happy.

The king of Nulan Empire asked Tobias in a friendly tone, "You said you tested him yourself, what made a Human branch Guild Master like yourself, test out a candidate by yourself?"
"You guys have heard of that one of the summoned "Heroes" practically told the King to take a hike? That "Hero" was him. He didn't tell me much about his past but he told me that he used to be a black ops soldier. From his fighting style and eyes, i could tell that he wasn't lying. His movements left no room for error, and would that have been an assassination by him, i would already be dead. If i were to be asked, if i was afraid of someone, then that person would definately be him." Tobias explained with his signature smile. Everyone in the room were astonished and the Emperor said, "For you , a person who was once called as the "Smiling Demon", to say that, that boy must certainly be scary."
The Smiling Demon was a nickname given to Tobias when he was an active 3-Black Star Adventurer. He got the nickname because of his signature smile and how he was completely ruthless in a fight. Actually, when Tobias was still an active adventurer, he was also known as the strongest human adventurer. Now he's strength had fallen a bit, it's not something to be bewildered about, considering he hasn't seen real combat in a few years.
"Well, dealing with Nalser is easy, treat him with respect and he treats you with respect. You disrespect him, he will disrespect you. But if you decide to pick a fight with him, well the fortress is a good example of what happens." Tobias told everyone while chuckling. Everyone understood the principle and why Nalser didn't want to stay in that kingdom, the government treat commoners like dirt. No one in their sane mind would want to stay there.
***
Across the continent, in the beast man kingdom of Eraland. In a rocky mountain range, you could see a single shilouete, sitting there on the cliff enjoying the sunset.
Suddenly a person dressed like a ninja appeared behind him, he got down on one knee and said, "My lord, a report has come in from Nadin kingdom. It seems like the one you told us to keep an eye on has single handedly turned a border fortress, that was on lock down, upside down. He killed the commander and around 100-150 more people and then escaped back to the woods. Operatives 1, 3 and 5 are currently keeping an eye on him, as he is resting in a cave inside the forest. As per your orders, they have not made contact with the target but are guarding him from the shadows." "Hahaaha, seems like he doesn't just sit around twidling his thumbs huh, who did he pick that up from." A smile crept on to the mans face, He had a hint of nostalgia in his eyes.
"Sir, may this servant ask, just who is he, for you to turn so much attention to him?" The man, who looked like a ninja, had always wondered, why did their lord had turn so much attention to one youth, who had been summoned from another world at that. The man thought for a second and said with smile, " Why shouldn't I, he is my son after all."
