《The Necromancer King》Prologue and Chapter 1: Hero Summoning

(Author: Hello all. Writing the same story everyday is tiring and a reader suggested I make a fantasy story to pass the time. Considered a virtual reality story, but there are plenty of those. Plus, I love playing as a necromancer in a game so why not a hero necromancer? Besides, you can't save everyone. So long as you save the world, no one will care of the sacrifices. Just read a history book. Is a hero charged for his crimes? Nah. I can't preview this as it is the first submission so I can't tell if it is long or short. Enjoy.)
Prologue and Chapter 1: Hero Summoning
The Dragon King was bored.
He had eaten, he had slaughtered, and he was rich. No entity opposed him as he ate even those who had little potential to defy him. He had even eaten his own race. There was no meat to satisfy him. No flesh that could stop his claws. No army to stop his might.
"My lord something's happening!" one of his servants cried.
"Hmm? What is it?" the dragon king sighed. "Did the human slaves revolt again?"
"No my king. It's a summoning! A hero summoning!" the servant cried. "One of our slaves is being summoned to another world!"
"A new world? A new world!" the dragon king laughed. The dragon used transformation language to change into a sixteen year old looking human with medium brown hair with gold colored eyes. The dragon king also had two curved horns the color of ash above its ears and was near around five foot ten inches.
Travel was convenient in his demi-human form. He followed the goblin servant while contemplating what he had remembered of summoned heroes. They used to live on his planet. He remembered eating them. They had come from another world from some human kingdom's summoning ritual.
They lost all power they had in the other worlds and kept the form in which they were summoned. Some were demi-humans so the dragon king would be able to keep his dragon horns and ability to use his superior body to overcome the average human. He would lose all magic he could use, but he could always learn new magic. He wasn't even sure if the magic on this planet could be used on the other.
He smiled as he saw the slave. He killed them all with a wave, leaving a huge pool of blood where they had stood before they died.
"Goblin, you are the new king of this world. All that was mine is yours," the dragon king said. "This is your reward as my most valued servant. I am heading to another world now. I have grown tired of the meat here."
"Your Majesty," the goblin cried, falling to its knees is gratitude. "I will do my best to rule this world in your stead. May the flesh of the new world satisfy your hunger!"
"I need a human name," the dragon king thought as it stepped on the summoning circle. "What was the name of the strongest human I ate? Bill? Joey? Alexander? Hmmmm. Edgar? Elgar? Yes Elgar sounds good."

Elgar laughed as he felt his magic and power drain from his body. Soon he would travel to a new world. Being a hero? Who cares? There were new prey to eat. To a predator, the stronger the prey, the more delicious it tasted.

=============================
Five lights appeared above a large planet the size of Jupiter with an ice ring of its own. The five lights flashed and appeared in the womb of a female that was of the same race and physical traits of the summoned heroes' previous older form.
Elgar was incredulous as he was 'born' through the hero summoning. His mother was a dragon who was sealed in human form and sold as a slave. Her husband, a quarter demon, had bought her freedom and married her. He looked just as he had when before he was turned into a baby.
He was the eldest son of Edward Maltos, a noble of the kingdom of Galintor. The House Maltos was the royal family of Galintor before it was overthrown a thousand years ago while that royal family was also overthrown two hundred years ago. You could say House Maltos was the royal family that founded the kingdom and fell from power. Only members of the family knew their tragic story.
Elgar was bright for ten years old. He learned to read and talk by the time he was three and was always at the library. His parents and his younger twin siblings, Edwin and Elaine, were the only ones who loved and respected Elgar. Why? Edward was the third son of House Maltos and was not destined to be the next patriarch of the house. The Maltos family thought Elgar was weak as he never spent time learning to use a weapon and kept his mind on books.
"Fire magic, water magic, even light magic," Elgar murmured as he skimmed through the books in the main building of the noble Maltos estate. "I was 'reborn' through a hero summoning ritual. This meant this world will become chaotic at some point. When I'm ten, my status screen will unlock and the whole world would know one of my titles is 'Hero.' Weapons? Who needed them. I was a dragon king! I ruled with strength. I want to rule with magic. I'll slowly conquer the world while appearing to save it."
Elgar roamed the library, trying to find a book on ancient magic. He wanted a magic where he could summon minions. As a mage, he would be more susceptible to swords and arrows. He noticed the old guardian of the library and beckoned him for his assistance.
"Yes young master Elgar," the guardian said, bowing slightly. "How may I help you?"
"I want to learn magic. Not any magic. A magic with minion summoning. Dark magic. Ancient magic that would bend the knees of my enemies," Elgar said.
"There is one school of magic that fits that category," the guardian said. "It is necromancy. Blood magic is forbidden, but necromancy is tolerated. Blood magic actually raises the dead while necromancy twists mana and gives it physical form similar to the dead in appearance. There are other applications such as bone magic, water magic, poison magic, lightning magic, summoning magic, dark magic, and plant magic. You could choose to specialize in one or all of them."

"Necromancy?" Elgar repeated, closing his eyes. He remembered eating a few necromancers. They could blow up their enemies, raise a skeleton army, and other fascinating spells. It took longer for a human to learn, but he was part dragon. Magic was innate in all dragons and draconic creatures. Besides, an elementalist was what all other mages became. It was the orthodox path. The path of conquerors was a harder path. Naturally, that required being different than others.
"Give me all the books we have on necromancy," Elgar said. "Oh and try to find a spear with a mana stone. Wielding a staff is good, but I need a weapon to defend myself against warriors."
An hour and seven thick books later, Elgar left the library with a spear strapped on his back. He had three years until he could view his stats and go to an appropriate academy until Apocalypse begins. He had to master the basics of necromancy before than.
Elgar told his father he wanted to learn how to use a spear and necromancy. His father was surprised his son did not want to wield a sword and wanted to learn necromancy, but he allowed it and hired a general experienced in using a spear in life or death situations. Elgar was surprised guardian of the library was a necromancer, but it explained why the guardian knew so much about necromancy.
Later that night, Elgar and the guardian stood in front of the grave of the first emperor of Galintor who was the greatest patriarch of House Maltos. Elgar had brought the fresh corpse of a scorpion with a gold, sand colored carapace he bought from the market.
"Young master Elgar," the guardian said. "My name is Tristan Jacks. I am an Arch Magus in necromancy. I am descended from a long line of magus that served the previous royal family which overthrew your own. I was hired to guard the Maltos library due to my ability to summon powerful bone skeletons. Do you know why I asked you to bring that dead spider here?"
"According to my books, to learn necromancy, one must insert elementals into a corpse. There was a scorpion in the market being sold as a pet and I chose that for the ritual. Each elemental used allowed the necromancer to use necromancy based on the seven fields of necromancy," Elgar answered.
"Very good young master," Tristan smiled. "We are at the imperial cemetery to draw the mana from the corpses to summon the seven elemental types of necromancy. As you took all seven books on necromancy with you, I assume you wish to know them all. This is good. It is a harder path but there will be no truer necromancer than one who has learned all the fields. The founder of the Galintor kingdom was an Arch Magus during his days and many royal court magus are buried here as well. Thus, there should be an abundance of mana in their bodies I can use for the ritual. Now, we shall begin."
Wisps of black and white energy rose from the tomb and settled into seven spheres above the scorpion's corpse. The seven spheres changed into the elemental form of the scorpion. They were made of bones, water, blood, lightning, darkness, vines, and a combination of the black and white energy Elgar assumed represented summoning magic. In essence, that combination was an arcane elemental. Pure mana itself. Tristan waved his hand and all seven elementals scorpion went into the corpse.
"Now the final phase of the ritual," Tristan said. You must bind the elementals in the scorpion using your blood, fuse the elementals together, and will the scorpion to come to life. It will be your first minion and your connection to it will cause a change in your body, allowing your mana to thrive and grow."
Elgar grit his teeth as he cut his hand with his spear and let the blood drip on the corpse. He pointed his spear at the corpse and transferred the mana from his body into the scorpion. The corpse started to thrash about until it finally came to light, its irises now a black and purple.
Elgar clutched his chest as he felt a familiar feeling. It was the mana in his blood stirring. Whatever held his mana back was gone, allowing it to flow and giving him greater strength. Elgar laughed as the ritual was a success. The scorpion was his first minion and moved and acted as Elgar wanted it too.
"Congratulations young master," Tristan bowed. "You are now a necromancer. The scorpion will continue to grow as you do and could become as large as a dragon someday. As it grows, you can manipulate it to be any size from its current size to its future size. If it dies, you can animate it once more as it is the first minion. For the next three years I will teach you all that I can. Progress will be hard and other magus will be more powerful than you for now, but in the end, you will surpass them all."
Elgar stared at the scorpion as he ordered it to go into his pocket. He was a necromancer. A hero with the necromancer profession. He laughed as he wondered how powerful he would become. Good? Evil? Both would have a choice between being his meal or being his servants.
