[Newbie but at level 7 already? You did quite well for yourself didn't you kid? So, Corbett? 25%?](Khrone)
[25%? Do you want him to explode into particles? 15% is his max capacity right now. The rest we gift. Michael, is the communication channel open?](Corbett)
"I think it was... How do I access it?"
[Just say 'Communication channel open'...](Corbett)
Even I with my thick skin was starting to feel really bad for all the things I didn't know. However, I can't help it! After all, I was just thrown in this mess without any details or instructions from that useless and shitty game God...
"Let's see... Open communication channel!"
Congratulations! You have accessed your alliance channel for the first time! You can select your username as default, or personalized! You can communicate with the others, as soon as your username has been selected.
Please chose one of the two options!
"Select... personalized username!"
Warning!
For a personalized username there will be a cost of 100M Soul Points! Do you want to proceed?
Yes / No
"Hell no! What's wrong with you!? Who would be stupid enough to pay that much for a personalized username in a useless com channel!? Select ‘default’!"
Default option selected!
Username set up as 'Michael Corbett, Chaos God'
You can now talk with the members of your alliance!
* The Burning One, Prometheus: OOOOOH! Here comes the newbie, everyone! Welcome!
*
* The Warring Beauty, Bishamonten: Welcome x2!

*...*
I suddenly heard the sound of glass shattering, or to be more precise, the sound of my delusions shattering. I honestly thought that these Gods were... you know, Gods! Why does it feel that I just joined a stupid W*at's Up group!?
"And why did they all personalize their usernames!? Is 100MP that little!? Are they THAT childish!? Why aren't you two saying anything?"
[...](Khrone)
[..ahem! A-Anyway. Greet them and check to see if the gift option has been opened.](Corbett)
You too!? What's the purpose of a cool username like that!? Wouldn't you rather upgrade the Soul Tier and create a major talent in your civilization? I am I the one that's wrong?
"...Let's see. I can't see any options."
[You just joined so you shouldn't have admin authority. Ask your alliance leader.](Corbett)
"That shitty game God is on it as well?"
[Just check the list of participants in the chat room!](Khrone)
Why are you so excited!? Let's see... That's Ra, Thor... wow, so many of them... 'Game master'? Only one of them can be shitty enough to go for that sort of stupid username.
* Michael Corbett, Chaos God: Hello everyone! Oi! @Game Master! Is the gifting option on? *
* Game Master: Hey Michael! Congrats for defending the attack so early. You are the first in our alliance. *
* Michael Corbett, Chaos God: ...thanks I guess! Gifting option? *
* Game Master: It is on. Did you get something good? *
* Michael Corbett, Chaos God: You will see soon. Look forward to it! *
* The Burning One, Prometheus: ... *
* The Warring Beauty, ... *
* The All Father, Odin : ... *
* The Merciful, Osiris: ... *
* The Destroyer, Ares: ... *
These bastards! If I finished first and it happened just now, aren't they under attack as well by the invaders? How can they be at leisure like this!?
"That's what they say. What now?"
[You bastard! What do you keep muttering about!? Do you think you can bind me using these things? I shall take your head and present it you my lord! He will mount your head on his collection wall! Your world shall...](Abigor)
[So noisy!](Corbett)
With a slight tremble, the chains that were spread out like a cage around the Abi-girl in the beginning to seal his movement and mana, violently snapped at him, coiling around his body and mouth.
Ignoring the obvious BDSM jokes I could make, I began to pity the Abi-girl for being abused like this by my two ancestors. Actually, thinking about it, didn't I accept their story about the past a bit too easy? It is kind of late to back out now but, shouldn't I be at least a bit suspicious about them?
[MHMHMP! HMSPDAJ!](Abigor)
[Good! Much better! Khrone, begin the 'extraction process'!](Corbett)
[Hehehe! With pleasure!](Khrone)
Ignoring the obvious change of route Abi-girl's story was taking, I was frightened out of my mind when seeing the black chains suddenly bursting in flames and like a net covered the invading Devil in full. Then, another thicker one flew in my direction with a stupid speed, coiling around my arm.
[Michael, focus on absorbing and digesting the power! It will be a lump full of mana-like energy, but stronger, more concentrated and absolutely deadly if you make any mistakes! Move it all around your body following the path set by your blood vessels until it completely melts and assimilates with your own divinity.](Corbett)
"Again... Please, don't say such absurdly scary things using such a calm tone..."
Following the instructions poured onto my brain alongside the stupid amount of energy, I begun moving what felt like a mountain that might crush me at any point, around the insides of my body. That mountain slowly turned into a melting iceberg and its threat level decreased by the second, under a cacophony of yells and shouts from a properly 'bonded' Abi-girl.
Focusing my consciousness only on the task at hand while fearing for my life, I ignored the conversation between the two voices in my head which were discussing how to split a divine being's entire life worth of hard work into smaller portions to be gifted and strengthen the faction of his enemy. Poor Abi-girl…
[Michael, are you alright?](Alexandra)
[Shh! Don't disturb him now!](Decarbia)
[Do you know what's happening to master, big sister?](Mia)
[As unbelievable as it might sound, he is stealing the power of the enemy. However, the process is highly dangerous and the amount of strength the enemy has is light years away from what he is capable of wielding at this point. Since he is threading on a thin wire, it's best not to distract him lest we want something horrible to happen to him...](Decarbia)
Listening to her words, all the Elves showed concerned expressions on their faces, while some even held their breath in order to minimize the sound they were making. To them, Michael was the one that welcomed them in this new world prepared for them by the Chaos God and led them to a more fulfilling life, in which they enjoyed good food and fun events.
To them, he was the envoy of the Chaos God and the one who worked as much as they did, maybe even more, all in order to improve the situation of camp.
At that point, they wished and prayed from the bottom of their hearts for the first time. They prayed for the success of the person that guided them so far, so that he will have sufficient strength to do the same in the future.

[A good civilization!](Khrone)
[Mhm! Doesn't seem that they know he's their God though...](Corbett)
[Maybe he wants to keep it that way. Do we distribute it now?](Khrone)
[Yes, let's start! I found something fun in his memories, so let’s keep that a secret for now…](Corbett)
While each was reacting in their own way, Michael finished absorbing the 15% amount of power fed to him from Abigor. Opening his eyes, the chains around his arm shattered and so did the ones around the invading Devil, revealing a now dried up twitching husk.
[You... monst...](Abigor)
"Famous last words... Nevertheless, I must hand it over to him. He had an epic entrance and a similarly awesome exit. He even turned into particles of dust..."
[Master... you sound like the bad guy...](Mia)
"Do I? Hehe!"
[It wasn't a compliment!!!](Mia)
At the same time Abigor's body was scattered all around Midgard, a *PING!* sound came from the conversation channel and a huge notification covered the skies of the world.
Congratulation Midgard for successfully defending themselves in the first event!
Rewards will be given based on calculated achievements! Calculating...
Defended against 2 billion Soul Points worth of monsters... awarding achievements!
Defended against a total of three waves, far outstripping the number of defenders... awarding achievements!
The monster's level was lower than the defenders... deducting achievements!
The defending side didn't receive any damage... awarding achievements!
The leader of the invasion army was vanquished... awarding extraordinary achievements! Calculations complete!
Giving the option to the defender that based on the previously received rewards, to choose between a Level 6 divine artefact and 10 billion Soul Points! Please make your decision in the next 30 seconds!
30...
29...
28...
"... Your suggestions?"
[The Soul Points! More people equal a bigger army and therefore a bigger chance at defending.](Khrone)
[That's why you're still too naive Khrone. He has a Level 5 artefact he will receive as a reward for the previous successful defense, another Level 5 mana gathering artefact from the killed Devil and now he can get another Level 6 one. An army of one million can't stand in front of a truly strong artefact! You should know that already... Nevertheless, the decision is yours to make Michael!](Corbett)
Considering their words, I pondered for a while. Using my Soul Upgrade blessing, I can continuously churn higher tier Elves through the 8 billion Soul Points already gathered. With another 10 billion, I could indeed bolster our numbers at a stupidly fast pace.
Howeve... can I manage the sudden increase? Probably not! Therefore...
6...
5...
4...
3...
"I chose the artefact!"
Confirmation acknowledged!
Awarding a random Level 6 artefact…
Artefact Tears of Blood has been provided! All awards have been given and the event will now end!
Defending players should work hard on their civilizations and prepare for the following invasion!
Good luck both sides!
Then, with the disappearance of the huge notification and the re-appearance of the skies on their normal color, two small earrings fell on the palm of my hand. Hyped by the description of them being Level 6 artefacts even if I had no idea what that meant, as well as the cool name, I instantly used Identify on them.
Tears of Blood (Epic rank)
A pair of earings created by a divine level smith.
Passive skills:
1. increase the Soul Tier of the wearer by one level;
2. improves the effectiveness of buff-type skills by 100%
Restriction: can only be equiped by a woman.
"..."
[Well... I did say that the AI is important to your civilization, didn't I?](Corbett)
[Don't let it get you down kiddo! Take a look at your Deity rank instead.](Khrone)
Hearing Khrone's excited tone, I instantly gave Mia a pleading look and she made the connection to the interface at once.
Rank: Newbie Deity of Chaos [Lvl 32]
Each God needs to start somewhere! As a beginner, you will rack up experience based on special actions, number of followers that believe in you, as well as successful advancements of your civilization (cultural, technological, or otherwise). Current Exp: 29800/33000
Since you are at the starting line as a deity, you have a maximum of two miracles you can perform. However, don't let that discourage you! Each Rank Up will increase the number of miracles allotted by one. In order to Rank Up, you need to increase your level 10 times for the first one, 25 additional times for the second one, 50 additional times for the third one, 100 additional times for the fourth one, etc.
Current Rank Up progression: 2/10
Even if you are the lowest rank at the moment, don't look down on your own divinity! As a representative of Chaos, you can notice pattern in advance, while the universe itself looks out for you. They say that everything started with Chaos and that everything shall be destroyed by Chaos in the end!
*Currently able to select two extra miracles for your world. One can be bought, while the other can be claimed through a randow draw.*
"Is that drawing lots!? Why does this useless God made everything so chaotic and depend on chances!?"
[No... it was like that made through the agreement of the two sides. To maintain fairness...](Corbett)
[...](Khrone)
"Not very convincing!!!"
[Anyway, it's time for us to go back to sleep. We used too much of our saved strength this time.](Corbett)
[We'll be back up in about six months worth of time. Work hard kiddo!](Khrone)
"Thank you seniors for your help! I will do my best!”
Seeing how there wasn’t an answer, I let out a sigh of relief. It meant that it was finally over… for now. All the still battle-ready Elves showed signs of tiredness, however they were still eager to fight if needed, judging from the look in their eyes.
Realizing that I was still standing in the middle of the air, I gulped and begun descending slowly. My mind was racing and worrying about how I might fall face first onto the ground and ruin the awesome scene I have caused by taking down Abigor. Fortunately, the ‘God-mode’ was still on and only once I announce the Declaration finished, will the world go back to normal.
Therefore, once I was 30 centimeters away from the ground, I whispered under my breath…
“Declaration finished!”
Manual Mode override, reinitiated!
Midgard returns to normal!
With a slight jump, I landed safely on the ground and looked at everyone waiting for me. They looked similar to press wanting an official statement back on Earth, thing that made me snicker.
“As you saw from the notification, the invasion ended… WITH OUR VICTORY!!!”
[[[OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!]]]
A wave of cheers broke the awkward silence. It might have been only about an hour or two that the entire event lasted for, however the pressure on them was probably as much as it was on me, maybe even more. For those who lack strength, they will always dread the unknown…
[Is it truly finished?](Alexandra)
“For now, it is… We need to make preparation for the following month however. We need to become stronger, to the point where the invaders can only crush their own skulls against our walls and we can use our own power to mercilessly trample on their bodies. Only then will he have enough leeway not to worry about further attacks…”
[It seems like we have much work ahead of us…](Alexandra)
“Mhm! And for yourself, as the hero of Midgard, I need you to remain by my side and help me out.”
[…okay…](Alexandra)
Seeing her blushing cheeks, I chuckled a bit and made mental preparations for the ‘future’. Yup! I need to extend the bed further and finally properly use it… Tonight if possible!!!
[What about the rest of the day master?](Mia)
“Indeed… Everyone! Today is a free day! Everyone is to do what they want and enjoy some well-deserved rest! From tomorrow, we will begin working once more. Also, Andrea… I will have to bother you guys again to prepare a proper feast to celebrate our victory.” – I said smiling awkwardly at her
[It will be my pleasure!](Andrea)
After saying a few more words and setting everyone’s mind at ease, we ‘collected’ everyone posted at the other sides of the camp, just in case of a sneak attack and dismissed them to rest as well. Given that it was still about 1PM by the time we entered our Elven Hut (judging from the sun-dial-cum-clock myself and a certain inventor tinkered with), we all sat on the bed and talked about small stuff, doing our best to relax.
However, after barely five minutes or so of ‘normal’ conversation, the atmosphere turned awkward and silent…
“This is certainly not the type of ‘atmosphere’ I was thinking about creating for our ‘first time’.”
[Master, about the changes…](Mia)
“Haaah… I really wanted to leave those until tomorrow though…”
[It seems like tomorrow won’t wait for us though… Take a look!](Mia)
Congratulations Midgard for entering the Bronze Age! Congratulations Midgard for unlocking new available buildings and technologies!
“…obviously… When did we finish the other buildings?”
[Well… there was only the Water Mill left to complete and Simone helped finish the mechanism and said she will install it while we finish off the invaders...](Alexandra)
“Can that girl be more ‘my-pace’ than this!? Uuuu… I really wanted to stay in and relax with you girls…”
[…](Mia)
[…](Alexandra)
[…](Decarbia)
Well, I didn’t bothered hiding behind my thumbs anymore. I was a proper adult after all and there is a limit to my ‘endurance’ sleeping next or in between this many beauties. I might go berserk as well soon enough if I don’t manage to bed these three…
[Okay…](Mia)
[Okay…](Alexandra)
[Okay…](Decarbia)
Yup! That’s some nice and obedient girls right there. Hehehe! It would be quite bad if a big bad wolf would take advantage of that obedience, now won’t it?

It Started with Slime
Before we jump in, let me say that the MC starts stupid, so the language and writing style is straightforward to reflect this. The writing improves with the MC and as the chapters progress (I hope). It is also a gradual growth story, so no zero to hero in ten seconds... with that out of the way: An alchemical experiment has gone wrong and results in a Slime Monster. It doesn't have a name at first and is something that it will need to work out! This story follows a Slime that starts as a Micro Slime with some level of consciousness, and there is more to it than meets the eye. Survival is the name of the game. To improve, it works hard to grow, evolve and become more powerful to survive its harsh new reality. There is a lot more going, and only time will tell if this Slime (all its various versions) can become strong enough to make it through the strife to the other side. It's a harsh world, after all. It Started with Slime is a story with a Monster Protagonist Evolution story. There will be no profanity and no sexual content, and there will be some violence and fighting descriptions. I am a native English speaker, and so the English here should be to a good standard. That said, even though editing, there may be some corrections and typos, so if you see some, let me know! If it bothers you a lot, I am working to make sure all chapters have no typos, but of course, some might slip through. I will endeavour to correct any picked up, though! Also, I started this a few months ago and so any feedback is always appreciated, also reviews and ratings! If you like or don't like the story, let me know in the detailed reviews! That always helps me see what is good and what needs improving. Working on releasing chapters twice a week, I will try to increase that as time goes, but at the moment, that is what I can release. Patreon has more. If the story gets more popular, then I will increase the releases. I am aiming ultimately for a chapter a day if I can get to that. Chapters are roughly 1500 words, with Interludes every five chapters being more or less than that! Enjoy! Edit: Book 1 finished on Patreon, and the format for Book 2 is slightly different with Interludes every three chapters, and the release schedule will be three chapters a week. A Portal Fantasy Comedy Poem
Mix an adolescent shepherd boy in love with a girl who wants to meet existentialists, a Viscount in need of an adventure, and a bland psychic. Add in a flippant god. Put them in a land made up of the after-lives of various different cultures. Stir gently. Sprinkle in some random Midgard Serpent, Genghis Khan, Scheherazade, and a cussing mocking bird. Fry lightly. Season to taste and serve with desired garnishes. Bon apetit! A comic fantasy poetic epic, filled with misfits, slapstick routines, light romance, people shouting out the names of their battle skills before using them, old philosopher dudes running around naked, a very serious lamb, demonic knitting, battery operated magic swords and even more traumatising stuff! I experimented with different styles in the beginning and finally settled on an ABABBCBC rhyme scheme (Give me your 0.5s. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I'm collecting them, seriously)

It can only be more, never less. Chapter Releases: Whenever I write something. Gotta get dem creative juices flowing first. Preferably once a week though.
