Alex sighed, he looked around the cavern.

Jessica and Sarah were both blatantly ignoring each other, Eian was staring at each of them with a bored-look on his face, Eian sat on the stone couch beside him watching.

All in all Alex should have realized this might have happened, Jessica and Sarah never got along, but Jess always just unloaded her stress on Eian before.

Sarah apparently didn't have quite as much tolerance.

As soon as they had reached the base some name-calling and insults were exchanged.

Eian let them vent it out and held Alex back when he tried to stop it after things escalated.

At least the fight hadn't turned violent, he thought it was because the girls realized a fight could easily turn lethal.

"Wow. That could have gone worse. No cat fight and here I was ready to intervene with Alex." Eian smirked, both girls turned and glared at him.

"Yo man, that's not cool." Alex frowned at him.

"Meh, if they want to behave like bitches, I say let 'em. S'long as it's not where something can eat me." Eian shrugged and leaned back on the stone couch he had made.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A BITCH!" Jessica was beat red, glaring at Eian whom smirked at her.

Sarah simply huffed and was looking away from all of them.

Tense minutes passed and everyone was trying hard not to say anything, everything was awkward.

Then Eian blunt as a hammer broke it.

"Well, I can't stand it here. Don't bother me for a while." Eian shrugged, picked a spot on the wall and begun digging.

Jessica came over and sat down next to him, the stone was hard, but it's shape was at least more comfortable than sitting on the floor.

Eian had also draped the shoddy wolf pelt on top, but it was starting to smell and none of them knew how to cure it.

'Well maybe Sarah knows, but I don't think she's in a mood to talk to us.' Alex gazed at Sarah whom went over and lay against a dead wolf.

Alex started at the ventilation hole in the ceiling, it let little light inside, clearly showing night had almost fully set in.

Soon the darkness became prevalent and Alex had to squint to even see Jessica.

A minute later a fire was lit and Alex looked, Sarah had lit a little fire-ball.

Eian got up and went towards the exit.

"Alex gear up. Let's bring in some more wood to burn. It's dangerous outside so I could use an extra set of eyes." Eian beckoned him forward.

"Roger." Alex got up and stretched, it was really awkward inside.

'Hopefully the girls don't start anything.' Alex let out a defeated breathe at the thought.

The excursion outside was quick and uninteresting.

Eian uprooted a thin tree, Alex cut off the branches for it to fit and they threw everything into the cave.

Inside Alex cut the branches thinner and Sarah lit them as torches, then Eian dug them into the floor.

The result was crude, but effective.

Eian went immediately back to work on the wall and soon Alex saw it was some sort of room.

He disappeared within for a long time and then emerged.

Eian stretched and Alex watched him, the silence was getting to him.

"Well that's that." Eian pointed to Sarah.

"What?" Sarah growled and had her eyes narrowed.

"Made you a room. I'll make Jess one next, then Alex and finally me." Eian pointed at each of them slowly.

"....." Sarah blinked and the anger melted away, she turned to look at the ground.

"Feel free to go in. I got a couch, bed and chair in there. I figured it's awkward being here and we could all use some personal space." Eian shrugged.

'Oh... that's pretty nice.' Alex smiled, at least someone had his heart in the right place.

Eian walked over to another section of the wall.

He begun working.

"...Thanks." Sarah mumbled the words and walked into the room, Eian simply shrugged.

A moment passed.

"We just need a few more pelts for comfort. Alex maybe you can try working on that? They'll stink, but I figure at least they're comfy." Eian turned to watch him.

"Roger man." Alex nodded.

He borrowed the dagger from Jess and got to work on the pelts.

At least work could distract his mind from everything.

He begun to realize why sleep was so important, without it people begin to fall apart.

Then a thought struck him, they had been so distracted by drama Eian must forgot about something important.

'I only killed one wolf and one of those four armed monsters, but Eian killed a few.' Alex looked at Eian.

"Hey did Eian did you get an upgrade?" Alex scratched the back of his neck.

"Aleeeeex." Jessica pouted at him, her eyes began to water up and she crossed her arms.

'Oh shit! She got a lot of kills too!' Alex blushed, he fucked up.

"Yeah, I did." Eian's voice snapped him out his thoughts.

"Huh?" Alex turned to look at Eian and felt lost.

"I got an upgrade waiting, but I wanted to make the rooms first. Also we have all night, so no rush." Eian grinned at him and was rubbing the back of his neck.

"...Oh...Cool man." Alex sighed.

*******

Sarah lay on a bed of stone, it was very uncomfortable, but she gazed at her tattoo marks.

They were glowing and she had to select spirit.

They read Body one, Mind five and Spirit eight, she would soon reach the zenith of human spirit.

She was wondering how Adara would contact and teach her after she hit ten.

Jessica had mentioned her guide would contact her when she was ready, that implied the guides could contact them whenever they wanted to.

Sarah's eyes narrowed in suspicion, this question had plagued her for some time now.

Was Adara lying to her?

Sarah took a deep breathe and tried to calm her nerves.

She had so many questions now and she wasn't sure she would like the answers, if she even got them.

Perhaps Jessica's guide was simply different as she was a Mind guide and not a Spirit guide, the possibility was there but it seemed unlikely.

Why would Adara not give her as much teachings as possible, or at least preparation for when she did get that power?

Why was she hiding important information from her?

Eian and Alex all claimed their guides helped them greatly.

Why would they do that?

Why were they here?

Where is here?

She spent much time contemplating these mysteries, perhaps longer than she should have.

Laying there feeling vulnerable and betrayed she too a deep breathe.

Selecting spirit, the world washed away in white.
