Alex blinked. He was once more within Vita. That was definately a weird thing to be thinking.

"Hello? Miss Vita are you here?" Alex quickly remembered the tree was Vita.

"Yes!!!" Vita.

Alex, turned and this time 'she' was there.

"Hihi!!!" Vita.

"Hello." Alex smiled she sure was full of energy.

"Sorry about last time!" Vita apologized and had her hands as if praying.

"Huh?" Alex.

"I was supposed to give you a lesson and I forgot. Hehe." Vita's body actually looked flustered.

"Oh. Roger. Can I still take it?" Alex.

"OF COURSE!" Vita.

"So what is it?" Alex.

"That lesson was for armor problems." Vita.

"Armor problems?" Alex.

"Yes I don't know if you've tested your bolt yet, but it has to be made right." Vita looked completely red.

"What exactly is the problem?" Alex remembered Sarah's fire-ball did the same.

"The problem is it will bounce off friendly armor." Vita.

"....Roger. How do i fix that?" Alex.

"It's the proper application of your bolt. Life is a very flexible element similar to air. Form it to be like mist, don't make it solid. When it collides unto someone it will flow through to find life and heal regardless, it can't sense undead though." Vita.

"Does fire work the same?" Alex, he thought of Sarah's fire-ball problem.

"Um.. I'm not sure. I've never liked fire." Vita was nervously scaning around.

"Alright thank-you for the advice." Alex was glad he hadn't had to use bolt on Eian yet.

"He-he might as well get the next power out of the way." Vita

"Roger! What is it?" Alex.

"A life-link." Vita.

"Life-link?" Alex.

"Yes. You have become strong enough to create a life link. Any of the healing benifits you've acumilated can be transmitted to someone through the link." Vita.

"What's the difference?" Alex.

"The difference is once the link is established you can heal someone from a long distance, you'll also be aware of their well-being." Vita.

"Oh that's amazing!" Alex, thought that could be very useful, usually he had to be very close to heal someone.

"Yes. Now a life-link can only be established with a single person at a time." Vita.

"Oh." Alex, that was a bigger limit than he would have liked.

"Don't worry! You'll get the power to affect more soon! That will let you heal more people from far! At the end of your path your link-link can prevent death, as long as your spirit holds out." Vita.

"......." Alex's jaw dropped.

"I know! It's amazing!" Vita smiled.

"What about ressurection?!" Alex.

"That...is possible, but you'll have to surpass your racial limits. That's for later sorry." Vita.

"It's good to know that at least it's possible." Alex smiled.

"That will be for my sister teach you." Vita acutally looked a little sad at first.

"Don't worry you will forever be my first ever." Alex teased playfully, hoping to cheer her up.

"HAHHAHAHAHugguh..." Vita laughed hard, bent foward and actually snorted.

"Heh. You took that a little far Miss Vita." Alex was only joking.

"Just call me Vita. I'd like that. Wanna be my friend?" Vita smiled shyly.

"Sure." Alex stretched out his hand for a handshake.

Vita stared at his hand and cocked her head.

"What? Do you want the symbol already?" Vita asked hurt.

"What? No. Usually we hold hands and shake it as a gesture." Alex.

"OH!" Vita quickly grabbed his hand with both of hers and shook vigourously.

"So....I promised to answer a few more questions you have." Alex.

"YES!!! HAHAAHA! YOU'RE THE BEST!" Vita hugged him.

"....A little space?" Alex felt distinctly uncomfortable with huge boobs pressed on his chest.

"Yes!." Vita backed away.

Alex spent a while answering her questions. A good while later Vita presented him another symbol. An circular pendant depicting two seperate circles inter-linked by a knot. Alex drew power from the image and returned.

*****

Alex felt a viney meta-physical feeling growing within him. Blinking Alex came to.

"Oh? One comes awake?" ominous male voice.

"What?!" Alex spooked and scrambled backwards.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Jessica.

"Alex! Get back here!" Sarah.

Something crashed into Alex's chest-plate, on the rib area, with prodigous strenght sending him sideways. The hit emitted a screeching sound as it passed over his armor. Alex saw a flash of white and heard screaming, it was difficult to see through the visor slits. When Alex gathered himself, he saw Jessica tearfully clutching her bleeding right arm. Sarah was sending a steady stream of intense white-fire upon a figure on the floor that was howling, it had a long-spear lodged on its side. It crumbled to ash and the spear-shaft crumbled as well.

"JESS!?" Alex ran over to her, he began healing the wounds and saw what looked like vicious claw tears on her flesh.

"..snf..it...hurts....snf....alot." Jess was in tears from in pain.

"Shh.......I got this." Alex was busy focusing on mending the horrible gashes, appearently she was even slightly singed from Sarah's fire as well.

"We're... we're not safe here." Sarah.

"What happened?! Where did that thing come from." Alex didn't even get a good look.

"It came from upstairs. Said we were noisy and looked delicious." Sarah motioned towards the third floor.

"It was a vampire!" Jessica said a little loudly, freaking out.

"Are there more?!" Alex was worried.

"Quiet! Both of you!" Sarah scolded as low as she could.

"R...roger." Alex.

"hic...okay..." Jessica.

"The city is probably infested with them. Alex. Let's check upstairs for anymore. Jess stay here and watch Eian." Sarah.

Alex led the way and Sarah held a white-fire-ball above her staff, which pervaded unbearable heat. Alex checked the area and saw there was a large bedroom. The bed was easily large enough for five people, but nothing or no-one was on it. They checked the area carefully, every nook and cranny. A large bathroom, a sitting area, and what he thought was a kitchen. They found nothing.

"Let's go down and check on the others." Srah.

"Roger." Alex didn't want to leave them alone any longer than was comfortable.

They went down. Jess looked frightened.

"Is everything okay?" Jess.

"Eian's still down." Sarah was looking through a small window.

"Yeah Jess, nothing else was up there." Alex.

"We should have checked the entire house. I thought since there was a bed-fame on the first floor there couldn't be anything else here." Sarah.

"Why is the city so run down if there are these things live here?" Alex.

"I don't know." Sarah.

"Will we be alright?" Jessica.

"I don't know. Let's go upstairs and Alex take Eian." Sarah was still looking through the window.

"Roger." Alex

"O...okay." Jessica.

Alex dragged Eian up, it took a significant amount of effort with the armor and his new weight.

"We are in trouble." Sarah.

"I know." Alex.

"Yes.. Sar....." Jessica.

"No. I mean I saw alot more of those things out there." Sarah.

"What?!" Jessica let out a yelp.

"Sh!.... Yes they were flying and had some wings growing out of their backs." Sarah.

"Y..you don't think they'll come here right?" Alex.

"None were walking on the floor, zombies and those fat...things were the only thing I saw on the floor. They might not spot the boarded up door." Sarah.

"We should have listened to Eian!" Jess.

"....Yeah." Alex had to give the point.

".....*sigh*..... Just don't tell him that. I can't imagine what it will do to his head." Sarah.

"Pft..... probably bloat it." Jess rolled her eyes, Alex was glad she was handling this better.

"Nah he's pretty cool." Alex.

"He's always angry..." Jess.

"I can't blame him. This is a pretty bad situation you know." Alex.

"...I....suppose..." Jess.

Silence descended and Alex saw Sarah fiddling with the leather on her right arm.

"My tatoo's glowing be right back." Sarah.

"Roger, don't take long." Alex.

"I won't." Sarah.

Alex saw her select something.

******

Sarah blinked and was in the vast mountain range again.

"Hello my little Sarah. How are you?" Adara purred.

"Ah!" Sarah forgot to close her eyes and the sight of Adara quickly sent heated up her body.

Adara was right beside her and was caressing her sides. Sarah breathed in quickly and attempted to focus. She felt the danger she felt outside helped her. She closed her eyes.

"Oh? What has you so worked up little Sarah?" Adara.

"I'm sorry. I'm in a city with monsters and a vampire just tried to eat me." Sarah.

"Oh dear! No wonder. Are you in any immediate danger?" Adara.

"I believe so. Many vampires are flying over-head." Sarah.

"Vampires are nocturnal. Find somewhere to hide out the night, but they burn easily. Come let us get you prepared." Adara.

"Thank-you." Sarah.

"Your safety is paramount." Adara.

Sarah followed Adara as she led her to face the sun.

"You have mastered simple flames by now. Every step higher will still make you more powerful, but the next ability is the ability to re-enegize off the sun." Adara.

"Off fire?" Sarah.

"No. Only the sun or extreme flames. The heat will reinvigorate your spiritual and bodily recovery." Adara.

"Ah! Spirit recovery?" Sarah asked excited.

"Yes your body will recover stamina as well and your mind will clear." Adara.

"That is amazing." Sarah.

"Yes fire is powerful. Sit cross-legged." Adara was extremely smug.

Sarah sat.

"Close your eyes. Open your fire-sense to the sun." Adara.

She did, it was powerful even from afar.

"Draw it's power to you." Adara.

She felt it's power, all around her. Suffucating, invigorating, tingling upon her face. She commanded it to come to her. It came and even she felt it's intesity.
