There's a common saying which states you don't know what you have till you've lost it. We never truly appreciate what we have, the convenience of toilets, showers or the miracle of soap and toothpaste. These things are all small and individually they don't make much diffrence, but altogether wtihout them we would be little better than apes. These conveniences were all denied to this group and Eian personally was beginning to feel the after effects of the lack of convenience. How he ended up under a giant spider bathing in some of its innards, while attempting to extract his spear was a damn good question in his head.
"This shit sucks. If I don't get a proper shower by the end of the day I'm going to smell worse than pig-shit." Eian was feeling weary of all the combat he had recently undergone, he sighed and rubbed his face.
"Ughh... Don't remind me please, you and Alex already smell." Jessica turned up her nose at them and contorted her face, while Alex looked mildly embarrassed, she was helping him walk.
"We're all going to smell bad soon. Alex and Eian just smell worse becasue they've been getting covered in spider juice. Best get used to it, unless one of you happens to know how to make scented soap." Sarah rolled her eyes at her.
"I'd give anything for a burger right now. Well,...... on second thought maybe not anything." Eian rubbed his belly and sighed after thinking what pieces he wouldn't want losing.
"Your covered in that, and you feel hungry?" Jessica lifted an eyebrow increduously at him, feeling only a slight tinge in her belly.
"Killing the forces of evil is hungry work." Eian straightened up proudly, though he himself was wondering as to why he felt so hungry, he could usually go without breakfast and lunch for quite some time.
"Pphhh. What evil? They're just big spiders." Jessica teased lightly and grinned.
"I don't see you lining up to kill them. You want to try? Feel free." Eian frowned then glared, he didn't appreciate her mocking his efforts.
"Eian, we're all stressed. Jessica, Eian's obviously dirty, hungry and angry try not to aggravate him please. We have more important things to worry about." Sarah stepped between the group, trying to focus them.
Eian continued to grumble under his breath about fairness, while Jessica quieted down. There were a few eggs laying about and Eian voted Sarah break as he didn't want another glowing tattoo at the moment. She managed to crush a total of four eggs, but still didn't get another glow on her tattoos, it was obvious the eggs gave far less than spiders. They got up and continued their trek, paying close attention to their surroundings. Eian being in front heard something crunching and quickly motioned them to stop.

"Might be another bitch." Eian whispered apprehensively, though he thought perhaps Jessica fit the description as well.
"It can probably hear us you know, animals tend to have better senses than people. Go on." Sarah narrowed her eyes at the monster.
Eian began to suspect showing off her big brain helped her cope.
"No use stalling then lets go." Eian breathed in, grit his teeth and resolved himself to a fight.
Soon the dim lighting revealed the source. At first Eian noticed the it chewing down on one of the smallest of the large spiders he had seen in the cave to date. A snake was the first thing that occured in Eian's head, but soon realized snakes swallow their food whole and then squinting he spotted what could have been some limbs. It was clearly a large reptile of some sort, and he had a healthy dose of deino-phobia to know he wasn't too thrilled of getting close. Whatever it was, it halted its meal and was blatantly staring at them as if taunting them to come near.
"What exactly is it?" Eian drawled out, while on the alert and looked at it funny.
"Looks like a.......komodo dragon, but spikier. Maybe a big iguana?" Sarah squinted, then looked at the ceiling with a far off look.
She seemed to be trying to remember something she read.
"Sure.... why the hell not... Big spiders. Big Iguanas. What's next big Bats? Just supersize everything in the damn cave why don't you?" Eian sighed dejectedly.
"That's weird though, reptiles are cold-blooded. I'm not sure they can live inside this kind of cave." Sarah bit her lip and was focusing on what little she remember about lizards.
"Eian, just hurry up and kill it. I want to keep going." Jessica pointed at the thing.
"Yes! At once your royal highness! Your wish is my command. Want me to carry your handsome boy-toy on my back, while I'm at it?" Eian sneered and shook his head at her, he was beginning to grow tired of her attitude.
Sarah shot them both a dirty look and Alex smirked at the banter, he hadn't seen much of this since highschool. Eian quickly gathered his wits, its just an overgrown geko he thought. At least with lizards you actually know where the brain is. He recited a mantra over and over in his head, pointy end goes in the head. He edged closer and closer slowly building up his courage, but he knew lizards were fast bastards so he was extra-careful. The lizard had the gall to cock its head to the side as he was working his was slowly to him and suddenly at about five yards away the lizard sprung into action. It bolted in the opposite direction leaving a confused, but relieved Eian gaping at its absence.

"Well... That was unexpected." Eian knit his brows and close his jaw after recovering his senses.
"Not really. It's eaten and we're four against one. I'm actually surprised the spiders haven't been doing something similar. Let's keep going." Sarah shrugged.
"Hopefully all the other animals will run too." Jessica breathed out a sigh of relief with what little hope she could muster.
They followed the tunnel futher and heard something make noise directly up ahead. This part of the cave held less glowing mushrooms than usual imparing their vision, but Eian thought he saw movement up ahead. They snailed their way closer till they saw the outline of five children jumping and hooting at something. Suddenly the kids spotted them and went dead silent. Quickly as one they shreiked in an inhumane voice and rushed towards them holding armaments.
"Holy shit! Goblins!" Eian hollered and his eyes went wide, even he knew what ugly little green people were.
"What!?" Sara yelped bewildered by the turn of events; spiders and lizards were one thing, but little green people?
"Kill them! Quick!" Jessica screamed at no one in particular, as she freaked at the unwelcome addition of those abominations and let go of Alex.
"Mmmm" Alex nodded his readiness for battle as he gripped his torch-staff for battle as he hobbled foward on one leg.
Eian held his spear as he would a bat and the first one to approach got a powerful swing to the skull with the pointy end of the spear. The second lunged his own spear at Eian and he was forced to scramble backwards waving his spear defensively to prevent getting impaled. Sarah in a valiant rescue effort jabbed her staff at Eian's assailant catching it in the jaw sending it tumbling and defesively blocked attacks from a third goblin. Alex released the most powerful swing he could muster at the fourth goblin, while the fifth attempted to stab him. Faster than he thought possible Alex batted the spear away with sheer luck with one hand and then grabbed it on his second attempt.
Eian stabbed the goblin Sarah threw to the floor on the head taking it out and quickly ensured the first wasn't getting up. Sarah managed to dislodge the spear from her combatants hands and it fled in fear. Alex one handedly cracked the fifth goblin on the skull and caved in its skull with a few vicious strikes. The fourth goblin was dazed on the floor from Alex's initial viking swing and was dragging itself on the floor pathetically, Sarah clubbed it on the head to death. Silence descended upon the group and retching sounds were soon heard in Jessicas vicinity.
"I....What should we do?" Eian looked around quickly, eyes wide and confused, mind in turmoil.
"Those things!... They were going to kill us! We did the right thing." Sarah screeched, though she was feeling a light headed and nauceous, while avioding looking at the aftermath.
Alex was breathing heavily and rubbing his forehead. Jessica was wiping her mouth and trembling with the implication of their actions. Eian was trying to convince himself they were monsters, but they were vaguely human in shape and that in itself was disturbing. Sarah was the first to fully master herself.
"Look, if they were people, they wouldn't have just come at us like little monsters. They would have at least done a warning call." Sarah solemly declared and nodded, she had to reasure them or they would waste time.
"How can you say that? They might have just thought we were monsters." Jessica's eyes and tone implied the verge of yet another break-down.
"IF?! If they thought we were monsters, they would have run away! That one I was fighting did after it lost." Sarah reasoned, while attempting to console them.
"Sarah's right. Those little shits wanted to kill us. Even if they were people, we have the right to defend ourselves." Eian had calmed down and nodded along with Sarah, he wasn't about to just sit and wait for something to kill him.
Eian got up and went to check the original spot the little monsters had congregated. He called the group over alterting them to the situation. Jessica once more supported Alex with walking and Sarah collected the weapons on the floor as they shambled over. There speared to death was the iguana they had first spotted , or at least one that favored it greatly.
