《Transcending Chaos》Chapter 3

"Well aren't you the smart one. Naturally there will be a price, especially for a lowly mortal such as you to learn from one such as me." Said the woman arrogantly, but then her face softened ever so slightly that it was almost imperceptible, "Let's start negotiating, as there is nothing free in the universe, I am known as Isla Ravenshadow. Now then, what is your name?"
"Lute"
"I see, well then, naturally you have already deduced that I am a soul trapped in this needle, it is known as the Origin Soul Needle, ranked third out of the five Origin treasures that were born with the birth of the universe itself."
Lute glanced at the surrounding space. Black and blue as far as the eye could see. It certainly didn't seem impressive if this was one of the five greatest treasures of the universe. If all it could do was hold the soul of a single entity then there really wasn't a point of ranking it among the strongest treasures.
"What is the point of this then; it's not as if this needle is going to spontaneously make me become the number one under heaven on the Crimson Tide Continent." Said Lute in a shallow voice.
A glint appeared in Isla's eyes, slowly raising her hands to the back of her neck, she unclasped the vial from her body. Opening the lid, a large drop of blood that was the deepest of crimson appeared.
"Do you know about the fall of immortals and the rise of man? Of course you don't, nobody in the mortal realm should know." Spoke Isla in a somewhat arrogant tone.
"At the beginning of time, the true immortals were born from the universe itself. They were the Divine Beasts, True Gods, and Demon Clan. Of the three, the Beasts Qi was relatively neutral, it wasn't positive or negative, and because of this, the beasts have an extreme affinity towards one or more elements. The Demon Clan had extremely negative Qi, allowing for them to wield the powers of Death and Darkness with ease. Lastly was the True Gods who wield positive aligned Qi, which is primarily attributed with powers such as light and life."
"For thousands of eras, they ruled within the Primordial Chaos of the Divine Realm, creating Life and spreading their will to the lower life forms that they created or that were created naturally at the behest of the universe. But all must come to an end eventually. The Gods and Devils were like Fire and Ice, born to oppose each other. The beasts were divided, some aided the gods and the other aided the devils. And over the course of many millennia, wars were fought, each side vying to exterminate the others in order to have a universe that encompassed only their own unique vision and ideals."

Isla then stopped talking for a moment, seeming to get caught in the beauty of the blood droplet before her. It seemed as if she was reminiscing about the past. Clearly this blood had history. Which Lute could faintly guess based on how intently she stared at it.
"How does that blood droplet relate to this Age of Immortals?" Spoke Lute with earnest feeling of confusion. For how could a blood droplet be so important?
"Be quiet and listen, I am getting to the part where this blood comes into play!" Isla spoke in an annoyed tone. Apparently she didn't enjoy Lute interrupting her reminiscing of the past.
Finally she continued, "There are five Origin Treasures in the Universe. Ranked first is the Origin Chaos Sword. It is said to change its form and the way its power comes forth depending on who is using it. But it is an insufferably arrogant weapon and is said to kill anyone that ever tried to subdue it."
"Ranked second is the Pearl of Myriad Tribulations. Although this one is ranked second, in actuality it is far more dangerous than the first ranked treasure. As its name suggests, it will cause tribulations strong enough to wipe out an entire realm if the balance of its positive and negative Qi is disrupted. This is the reason the Age of Immortals came to an end. The pearl almost wiped out all life in the Divine Realm. It is said to be at the converging point of the four Realms, so no one dares to go near it."
"Ranked third is this very needle. The Origin Soul Needle, just by having this needle in your possession, your soul strength will increase to an unknown limit. It can store the souls of those who die in its vicinity if the owner of the needle allows it. But instead it will typically devour the souls of those it kills, under normal circumstances. If your soul is stronger than the souls of those that die, you can absorb a small portion of their soul's strength while the needle absorbs the rest."
"Ranked Fourth is the Primordial Chaos Cauldron. Although it is simple in effect, it is quite tyrannical. It allows for the concoction of pills, elixirs or poison without the slightest of impurities. Products of this cauldron are said to be at the bare minimum, four times stronger than if concocted in another cauldron."
"And the very last, ranked at fifth, is the Origin Stone of the First Qi. Its effect is ranked last, but the effects are heaven defying. If the cultivator who owns this item lives long enough, it is quite the evil little stone. It will constantly refine Qi and condense it to an even more pure and powerful form. It will increase the physical body strength of the cultivator and slowly increase the thickness of their blood essence. At first, its effect isn't noticeable at all, but given a thousand years or tens of thousands of years later, it can turn even the most ordinary Divine Realm cultivator into someone that can directly affect the balance of power in the entire Divine Realm with their mere presence."

Tsk! Annoying, this woman was really annoying thought Lute. He asked one question in earnest and she hadn't even answered it. Instead she began to ramble on and on about the strongest treasures in the universe. Honestly, he couldn't care any less. What was the point of fantasizing over such things if you couldn't obtain them? This woman needed to be more of a realist with the fact that he more than likely wouldn't obtain another Origin Treasure. The needle had only been found by pure chance, nothing more, and nothing less.
"About the blood floating in front of me." Said Lute in a slightly annoyed tone.
"You're such an unappreciative person! Most people would drool at the thought of knowing such treasures existed, and apparently they can even be in the Mortal Realm considering the needle fell to this lowly planet."
Isla almost seemed to pout. Seriously, she was not acting her age, she had to be twenty five at the minimum, but who knew how long she was sealed in the Origin Needle.
"You really stick your mind to one thing and never let go, the same with your emotions too, honestly that isn't healthy. Learn from this almighty one and don't fixate on one thing for an extended period of time, or you will go mad." Spoke Isla in an almost playful manner, whilst trying to sound haughty.
"Right, so you want to know this bloods origin?"
"Yes" Said Lute in an exasperated and tired voice.
"This blood, it has quite the history. Out of the strongest existences during the Age of Immortals, there is only one entity that remained a mystery, both then and now. He was known as the Invincible Spiritual God. He was an existence that was basically his own faction of power in the Divine Realm. Gods, Devils, and Beasts all payed extreme respect to him and no one from the three factions dared quarrel or fight around him. To have such power that all three factions wouldn't dare offend you, just how many secrets would you have?"
"The Spiritual God was an enigma to all. He spent almost his entire life in solitude; Gods, Devils and Beasts alike all attempted to find out his secrets and curry favor with him in the hopes he would join their factions. Of course it was to no avail. His powers were completely unknown, the only record of his power is when he was successfully enraged and participated in the ongoing war. The warring factions apparently brought their war to a planet the Spiritual God was particularly attached to, perhaps he created it. But needless to say, the planet was decimated; all life on it went extinct."
"In his rage, he entered the war on his own. A single entity entered the war, a single person. And yet, on that day blood was shed. In a bloody battle of Gods, Devils and Beasts, he took them all on by himself. Not one of them successfully made it out alive. He alone caused the war to end for a period of years while the factions recuperated and regained their strength. Ever since then, anything that was even remotely tied to the Spiritual God was off limits, the factions all had a unanimous agreement that the war was not to go anywhere near the Spiritual God."
"Now do you understand?" Said Isla in an extremely serious voice for the first time since Lute met her. "This blood is the blood inheritance of the Spiritual God. Toiling through countless ruins and slaughtering all before me, I finally obtained this blood, and yet for me it was unusable, I would have to sacrifice my entire cultivation to obtain it and that was something I simply could not do."
"However", Isla seemed to bore into Lute with her eyes as she put on a devilish grin. "For you who had never cultivated a day in their life, it is not too late to begin, and catch up to weak little mice of this planet."
