《The Last King》Chapter fifty-two part 1

AN: ...I know im late, but it's still here. I will try getting the next part out by sometime today. It ended up longer than i thought and so I didnt bother to include the POV of anyone else in this one. But....i kind of accidentally lost the final 1/3 of this, which was actually a lot. So....i ended up not remembering much of what i wrote and in the end I came up with this. This isn't as good as that last one, i know that for a fact. So im not satisfied with this.

But, how it is? I didn't want to make it too serious, as I dont think Loki is an all too "serious" character. How's that dialogue, though? Any feedback?

I will edit this later, for now im going to sleep for a bit. Remeber to rate, review and comment.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apollo was a god of light, prophecy, music, medicine, spirituality and healing.

These are some of the known things he was associated with. But he's also a God of Destruction. Note the capitals. Gods of Destruction were damn annoying to deal with.

Especially this guy. He was more troublesome to deal with than most. Why? Well, remember that bit about medicine?

Apollo's darker side meant he was also a god that could summon and create plagues. Curses too. Basically this walking matchstick could also be called one sick fuck!

Loki lamented his cruel fate.

Seriously, what could he have done to deserve this?

Apollo floated high up in the air, looking at Loki with those shining eyes of his. Golden rays spread out from him like a flood.

"Loki, you think you are untouchable? You think you can't be restrained? Today I will show you just how small and insignificant you are!"

Apollo's body radiated heat to frightening degrees. It warped the air around him and was akin to standing close to a sun while wearing a suit of armor and having it melt on your skin.

"Fuck you, damn matchstick! Attacking others so suddenly, has your mother, that blasted woman, never taught you proper manners? Fine, then let this daddy discipline you! Thy ass is mine! By the end of the day imma have your hide hanging on my wall!"

Loki, who was he?

Being threatened so blantantly, how could he stand such humilation? Hmph, he wasn't one to shy away from a fight!

This damn brat, Loki would bend him over his knee and whack him with a metal padel until his bottom bled! Then rub salt on the wound!

Just see if he didn't!

Loki felt a wicked grin coming onto his face.

He brought his hands together and pulled them apart, a black staff with a large white crystal attached to it's head appearing from the space between his palms as they seperated.

"Take a look at this, matchstick, this long and thick thing is going to pop that cherry of yours! And no lube, either. Hear that? I'm doing this shit raw! Ha!" He laughed maniacally. " I'll take a picture and send it to everyone, you won't be able to show your face amongst any of the gods ever again! This is what you get when you pick the wrong fight!"

Loki wouldn't just beat this little shit, he'd ruin his social standing and thrown him into an abyss of despair!

He changed changed his form, becoming an adult version of himself with sleek dark armor. He couldn't exactly take this bastard on as a kid, now could he? Indeed, in battle he prefered this form. He only liked staying an adolescent when lazing about or seducing beautiful women!

Loki multiplied, creating dozens of clones.

"Numbers won't help, I'll decimate them all!" Apollo brought a hand up and summoned sickly-green miasma that expanded and hurled itself towards Loki.

The gas was, of course, some type of plague. It had the power to spread and wipe out the population of an entire planet in a matter of days! But a simple plague, against a god? Obviously this couldn't be a normal plague. Apollo wasn't a fool

As it touched the high, skyscraper-like buildings it melted the stone and glass with ease. But it didn't enter, it's goal was only Loki.

The multitudes of Lokis watched it coming at them with amused expressions. However, it slowly become more alarmed.

"This bastard, what the hell is up with that thing? If it hits me won't I have a feeling it won't be good! Dammit, it'll be a real bitch to materialize in physical form again if I get killed. Damn boy, don't be causing so much trouble for your elders!"

Apollo wasn't aiming to truly kill Loki. Not aiming to try squashing his divinity and extinguish his existence. No, he was pissed off and that meant he was going to destroy Loki's body to appease his anger. How hard was it to truly kill a god? Something like that wasn't easily done, but destroying their bodies was not so complicated.

Apollo sought to slap this arrogant brat in the face by making him understand that he wasn't someone that could do as he pleased!

The Lokis raised their staffs and created a barrier around the dark miasma, encasing it. But it did little. It kept growing and ate away at the barrier.

Not only that, some wasn't caught and kept going towards them.

One of the Lokis let out a small gasp.

The rest turned towards the sound and were shocked.

His face turned gangerenous, his entire body rotting and shriveling up. His face, arms, fingers, all of it quickly looked like that of a green, thousand year old corpse. Like twisted, disease-ridden tree bark.

It was truly hard to look at. It was disgusting, a sight that made you fascinated for the first seconds before you got a sick, queasy feeling in the pit of your stomach like you would lose your breakfast.

It was the kind of feeling that made your eyeball feel itchy, shifting away quickly to try and forget the image but having it imprinted onto your mind so that you couldn't feel at ease.

Several Lokis retched, throwing up their last meal.

Something like this was too sickening to watch!

Not only that, but he infected Loki's eyes let out blood and in the next instant becoming dried out before being sucked into their eye sockets.

It was horrifying, something straight out of a nightmare.

The worst part? He was still alive!

"Dammit, we can't leave him like that!"

One of them mercifully threw a green bolt of fire at the poor clone and turned him to ash.

For a moment everything was silent.

Then they turned towards Apollo.

"...Kill him!

"Let's fuck his pretty face up!"

"To hell with that, I'm going to make him my bitch and sell him off the streets! I won't let him, that bastard, know any peace!

"No, we should defile his body up real good and send him home to his mother in a damn box!"

"I'll chain him in a dungeon and let Mercury have her way with him!"

One of them let out an exceptionally sick and disturbing threat just then.

"Is that really necessary?!"

"Fuck, isn't that too cruel?!"

Another two shot back, thinking it too harsh a punishment.

Despite that, they were now all riled up into a frenzy and out for blood.

But Apollo had no intention to play their litttle games. He manipulated the faint whisps that had remained unsealed and directed them toward the loud, obnoxious Lokis!

The Lokis were dodging the whisps with all their might by teleporting everywhere but even still some of them met the same fate as the first Loki.

Apollo sontrolled te whisps with expert precision, not letting them rest at all.

They couldn't help it.

Their attention was torn between dodging the tendrils of gas and maintaining the barrier around the majority of it.

It kept growing, too, pressing against the barrier with great force. It grew increasingly hard to keep the barrier up and avoid the pursuing gasses at the same time.

They couldnt't let the barrier go or else it would cover every inch of the city and there would then be nowhere for them to teleport to that would be safe.

For now it targeted the multitudes of Loki specifically but if that didn't work then Apollo would let it run wild.

He could, of course, escape this by teleporting to the city below this one or any number of places. With his teleportion ability there was no need to fight at all.

Loki's escape skills were top=notch. This was one of the reasons he was tolerated. Very few of the gods he messed around with could catch him!

Sure, some gods or other beings could teleport but not all of them. A vast majority couldnt't. Oh, they could move very fast but they couldn't go from point A to point B instantaneously like he could. To the perception of lower beings the two were indistinguishable but were actually worlds apart!

With such an ability at his disposal this battle was therefore meaningless!

So why did he remain here to fight?

It was due to his pride!

How could he simply run away? Why should he? Loki, who was he? For what reason did he had to run with his tail between his legs from something like this?

Dammit, if he ran then that damn overgrown matchstick would this him someone easy to push around! He would thorough teach that bastard a lesson he wouldn't forget!

The various Lokis continued to dodge the whisps with fire in their eyes.

Even so some of them still died. How could they not, what with their attention being so divided?

They had to keep the barrier up.

If it was released and Apollo let it grow unhindered then it would expand everywhere, claiming the lives of the people below. Apollo's own people would live, but the rest who were not of the Apollite race would perish.

But why would Apollo care about that? Their lives were insignificant to him. Would anyone care about the lives of bugs they step on?

Apollo was a god, lower beings like them were unimportant to him.

He probably wouldn't be so calous were he in his right mind but his fury turned on his darker aspects. He was not currently a god light, not some righteous god that was full of benevolence. No, right now he was Apollo, God of Destruction! Their lives were something he would not waste the time to care about.

Loki was similar. But their lives still were not meaningless to him. He wasn't one to be so indifferent. But even so he wasn't too concerned with them.

No, but even so, he didn;t want to drag them into this. At the very least he had to make sure the majority of them lived!

Why?

Well.....

If Roland, learned Loki let so many people die.....

No, he didn't even want to think about it.

Actually, maybe he wouldn't be overly unhappy over that along, but Loki knew he was currently enjoying his time with at Wife and daughter of his.

If that was disturbed then who knew what that evil sadist might do?!

He might kill both Loki and Apollo then revive them just so he could kill them again and again until he grew bored of it! Or he might beat them until they couldn't rise before then telling them to stand up, or else he would beat them again!

That guy, he had at least done that last one to people before! Loki had seen it!

Suffice it to say, Loki felt it would be a bad idea to get that guy involved. He was one to not show mercy towards his friends. He calls it "tough love".

Mephisto had even told him not long ago after he arrived on this planet that Roland put a hole in his chest and then kicked him....

The Lokis stopped dodging the whisp, and instead teleported to the eye of the storm, the one causing all this mess, Apollo!

Their staffs glowed with a green and red light as the Lokis converedg on Apollo. They surrounded him, thrusting their staffs down upon him.

But the youth's body flickered.

He had disappeared!

The staffs, their original target gone, collided. A massive burst of energy erupted forth, causing a gigantic wave of destructive power that created a explosion of red-green light.

They were thrown back by the force of it.

Apollo, a god of light, was just as fast as that which he had authority over! The speed of light, somthing which was rare amongst even gods!

Apollo used such speed to it's ful potential.

This ability of his was much more than simply an incredible speed. It meant he could augment his physical attacks' strength. In other words, he could hit something at the speed of light, causing immense damage!

He hit each Loki countless times as they flew back. A thousand, ten thousand, a hundred thousand, the force of each attack largely increased due to their speed.

"I've played with you long enough. Can you say you are capable of standing against me if I choose to personally get involved? You may have surprised me last time, you may have bben prepared back then, but now? You don't have any hope of facing the current me."

A unsurpassable arrogance!

It leaked out from his every pore.

Apollo was always proud, always feeling very entitled and superior to others. He didn't lord himself over others, didn't act like some overbearing ruler. But in his heart he always felt better than others. It was something that was not noticable to even himself, but it was always there in the depths of his very being.

But when this side of him awoke, when this dark aspect of himself was unleashed, so too was that inborn arrogance and pride of his!

The Lokis were hurled back everywhere. Their bodies fell through buildings. The cities withing the Delphi was truly large, much larger than the actual ship.

The inside of the shipe was like another world, capable of having an actual ocean inside with room to spare.

But the cities were still within the ship, which meant that it was surrounded by giant walls of the same golden material the ship was made of.

And it was in these walls that the Lokis were embedded in. Their bodies made small depresssions in the material, such was the force with which they had flown back.

They coughed out blood, their insides feeling like all their organs were thrown insided a blender. Their bones felt broklen, although they weren't.

Their muscles, they were sure some of them were torn.

Breathing was more difficult that sucking air from a thin straw.

"Son of a bitch, that fucking hurt!" One of them said.

"That brat, he thinks we'll be brought down by something of this level? Fuck his mother, that matchstick is going down! Dammit, In place of his father, I'll fuck him up right good!"

"You're just a brat but believe you can win against me? You're several eons too early for that!"

"Just go gent bent over a fence by your grand-daddy."

They hurled abuse at the sun god.

"....Ah, look at all those people running for their lives...."

One of them said, off-topic.

They looked like ants....

Apollo ignored them.

He had a golden bow in his hands, a radiant arrow ready to be fired.

"Fools. Thinking you can do what you want without consequence. Arrogant to the extreme." He snorted coldly. " I may not be able to hit with 100% accuracy like my sister, but don't go believing that it will be easy to escape from this."

"Ha, matchstick, you think you have the upper hand?" One of the Lokis sneered.

"Bitch please, we're not that weak. Come, prostrate yourself now and we might consider being lenient!"

"Yeah, or else we can stick this staff up your ass and make you squeal like a pig before sending you off to your parents a changed man!"

"Fuck your mother, we'll mess you up worse than my love life!"

Apollo remained indifferent. " All you do is throw out hot air, enough. You will all die here. Once once i'm done here, I'll find that daughter of yours and send her with you...." His eyes flashed with dark promise.

Had he not been so angered he would not have made such a threat. He was not usually so petty but right now he wasn''t above such things.

The Lokis sneered at him.

"Ha, this noob thinks he can be a match with her? The poor, stupid little fool...."

" That girl isn't as playful as us, my pretty-faced friend. She won't even bother to lift her head head and simply use a paw to send you to the next life. Don't even bother."

"THat daughter of ours won't go easy on you like we currently are. Ah, she'll take that ego of yours and shove it down your throat. You have zerio chance. Give up."

They actually thought him pitiful. However, the man's words did ignite a substantial anger in them. Threatening thieir daughter, he was asking to die!

"Well, I think this has gone on for long enough. Alright men, form up!" A Lokl called the others to attention. "Come on, let's show this pretty-boy's who's top dog. "

"Yeah, let's really fuck up his day!"

"I kind of wanted to play with him more...."

"But he dared kill some of us, this is a grace sin. I vote that we lynch him, then boil him alive for good measure."

"Whatever, let's just hit him with every goddamn spell we know."

"I want to revisit that Mercury threat of mine."

"You're one sick fuck, you know that?"

"Your mother."

"...Idiot."

One of the Lokis spoke up. " Oi, you bastards, shut up! Let's get this over with! Attack!"

"Attack!

"Kill him!"

"Sell him to a brothel!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

The Lokis, their eyes ablaze, got ready to hurl all kinds of spells at the sun god.

But would Apollo allow them to organize themseleves?

No, he ignored their inane comments and simply shot his arrow.

It split into hundreds, thousands, forming countless arrows.

The various Loki scattered about the city were going to be impaled by untold bumbers of arrows.

They all teleported at once, dodging the arrows. But that wasn't all that chased them, the whisps of miasma had also not been forgotten.

The arrows of light moved at ungodly speeds and some of them lost their lives.

Though they could teleport, they still had to be aware of incoming attacks to dodge them. The arrows were too fast, they could barely see them.

Some of them got smart and simply teleported out of existence as soon as they materializeed, moving about the area randomly.

As this was happening, as they began to throw spells at the man, they didn't notice one thing.

The barrier from before....it was cracking.

And Apollo was getting ready to create another equally terrifying plague for them to deal with....
