Author's notes: not much to say. i added a short scene in chapter 3 that detailed how the bolt throwing immortal died, as i didn't say what happened before, and so people might think the MC just forgot there were five and didnt kill the last one. Yeah you may have assumed he died at some point in the fight, i just want to make it clear he did die and state how. i will edit this later. i might have made mistakes in this chapter, and not just spelling, but the story itself. Well, enjoy

"Loki"

And sure enough, when Roland looked behind him, a tall man with sleek black light armor was smiling at him.

He had boyish good looks, young looking yet his features were perfectly aligned and pleasing to the eye. He often liked appearing as a young boy, as the current form clashed with his sense esthetics.

However, to greet his friend, he chose to come in thos form, if only for a while. The two had been friends for some time now and they could even be considered something like sworn-brothers to one another.

In fact, Loki would never show this amount of consideration to that many others.

Knowing that, it was evident how good their relationship was.

As a God, Loki was very powerful. His influence didn't simply exist in one universe, but spanned multiple universes and planets. He was not just a figure in any single planet's mythology or religion.

In fact, there were many planets under his jurisdiction. Many who worshipped not only him but others of his pantheon as well.

“Indeed. You look surprised, Roland.” he grinned.

Without waiting for Roland to reply, he continued.

“Here I was, just helping The Morrigan collect a few soon-to-be-dead souls, and I find you with a group of dead Immortals. Serves them right. They are getting quite arrogant these days. Well, with you here things won't get boring anytime soon! Oh, if you're wondering how I know you got here by summoning, I just read that red haired mortal woman's mind. I hadonly just gotten here afterall. So, how long do you plan to stay? "

“Before I answer that... Loki, since you are here, this planet must under the influence of the Aesir, right?"

Then Roland remembered the name he mentioned.

“Wait…Morrigan? No, that's not right, she's from a completely different pantheon. If the Aesir are dominant here, how...?"

Roland knew the Morrigan would not be collecting any souls on this planet unless she and her pantheon were the ones in control here. But, logically, Loki being here in physical form would mean that his own pantheon were the ones governing the planet.

Seeing his confusion, Loki started a rather long rant.

“Ah, let me explain. In most cases, Gods and Goddesses of different pantheons do not coexist together, even if the planet holds mythology from other pantheons. But, you know that already.

Anyway, usually there is always a pantheon that is dominant and allows Gods of that pantheon to materialize much easier on the planet they are dominant on. But there are special cases. You see, this planet is huge~. Much larger than your own. And the mythologies from several pantheons are nearly equal in power and influence here.

Namely, the Aesir, the Olympians, the Tuatha De Danann, and Solomon 72 Pillars. Well, the 72 Pillars are Demons and fallen angels, but still, they are quite influential even here. So, it was agreed by the groups to make this world a sort of neutral ground between them. Think of this planet as kind of like a little vacation spot for gods.

Meaning, any from those pantheons can materialize here without worry. Well, its a bit more comlicated than that these days, but that'ss the gist of it. And some gods and goddesses are major deities here. Which, as you can guess, means those who are worshipped more often or are simply more popular here. In fact, The Morrigan and I are more powerful on this planet than on some others, because to those who worship our pantheons, they place more importance on us. Or, you know, just like us more.”

He started laughing a bit.

“Thor is still sulking that I'm more powerful here. He always hates when others steal the limelight! Not that i really care about those things. I mainly just stay away from such annoying matters." Loki saw how Roland was barely paying attention. " Ah, and you don't have to make that face, Morrigan doesn't even know you're here yet. Even I didn't know of your arrival.”

Roland, who was still processing the information Loki just unloaded onto him, was showing an obvious displeased expression.

Loki wasn't aware of the history between Roland and Morrigan. He was curious, but he never got anything out of either of them.

Roland was momentarily more interested in how she and Loki were both on the planet, but now that his curiosity was satisfied, he suddenly remembered exactly why he didn’t like meeting Morrigan. Luckily she didn’t know he was here. If she did, it would be troublesome in various ways.

Thinking that, Roland wondered if Loki intentionally dropped her name. Probably to get a reaction like this from him.

A god of mischief indeed, he thought wryly.

Roland chose not to comment on it.

“if that’s true, then it’s fine. As for that question of yours, I don’t really know how long I’ll be here. I was wondering who would be able to make the summoning circle lock-on to me but Immortals don’t pose enough danger to make the spell call me. There were plenty of others who could have taken care of them. Yeah, as you said the compatibility between me and the red haired girl did indeed seem unusually high, yet that alone wouldn’t be enough for me to be called just to face a few Immortal.”

It really was a strange thing. The fact the summoning circle appeared before him meant the summoner was in enough danger where only a few beings could have been of help.

There were, of course, a few others who could rival myself in power, but the spell believed Roland to be the most suitable for the task. Not only that, but the transfer from his original location to here was extremely fast, which meant whoever summoned him must have quite a high compatibility with him. Which in itself was surprising enough.

Compatability took in various factors, such as innate potential and personality

A person whose personality was similar to his own, yet not only that, but who also had both talent and potential that was almost comparable to his own?

Very few could boast such a thing.

No, isnt this a first?

“By the way, why would you be helping Morrigan collect these souls? Should she not do it herself?”

He wondered if she was slacking off again.

“Yeah, well, there was a war not long ago. She is still busy collecting the souls of the poor bastards that were caught in it. She really wanted to come and do this herself since she was curious why Immortal would be chasing a few young mortals, but she didn’t have enough time to just run off. Since I was nearby, she roped me into doing it. Lucky for you, right? Anyway, I assume you want to help them out? The mortals I mean. It isn’t really your problem.”

Well, that was true, but…

“I think I want to help out. The Immortals are not enough of a threat to require my help, so there must be some others after them. And the curses they bear… I don’t even recognize which god could have made them. Do you?”

Loki shook his head. “No... I never saw a curse with any of those energy patterns. They are from a god, no doubt, but no one I have ever met. Honestly, I am interested.”

“So, we at least know that the curses were not place by anyone we know. Which rules out most of the gods in the more well-known pantheons.”

Loki agreed. “Yes, it does. But there are a lot of gods who have been forgotten through the passage of time. And they are all even much older than myself. And many more who I simply do not know of. The truly ancient gods have long since gone missing. I assumed they just moved to some of the more remote universes, but perhaps they have been hiding?”

“If so, I wonder why” Roland commented.

“Who knows? Anyway, perhaps one of them is responible. Butthe mortals there are still in danger. They were fated to die here, but your involvement was unforeseen.”

Naturally, thought Roland. When he was involved, fate is not able to interfere, which was something that those like the Moirai and Tyche didnt like him for, apparently.

Even if Morrigan knew they were supposed to die, she could not have foreseen that the summoning would bring Roland here.

His appearance changed everything.

Loki continued.

“Although, the gods that want them dead are likely very powerful, you know? They are probably the danger that was sufficient to call you here. I believe so because the Immortals were hollow, like they were under compulsion."

Roland had to agree. When he fought, he knew that the Immortals wanted to flee for their lies, yet they never once made a move to do so.

" They probably were told to kill whoever was in the way of completing the mission they were given. I dont think they were allowed to run. And the Immortals seemed so lifelike. it didn't appear like they were controlled at all. How powerful and skilled would you have to be to control a group of Immortals so precisely?

Going by that, they are probably not people that are messed with easily. They, instead of the Immortals, are most likely the threat the mortals acknowledged. Hoever, If you plan on giving the mortals there your aid, then naturally I will too~.”

Ah, Loki, you just want to get in on the fun, right? Well, whatever.

Loki was that kind of person anyway.

Roland laughed.

“It wouldn't be interesting if the enemy was weak though, right? So the stronger they are, the better. But since I don’t know about this world at all. your help is appreciated. Oh, and the other major pantheons are here as well, right? How exciting. I should give Aries and Astaroth a call. I haven’t had a proper duel with them in ages.” Roland smiled in anticipation.

Loki gave him a blank look. “Duel? Is that what a one-sided massacre is to you? I think those two still have bruises. You should have seen them after the last time you ‘dueled ’. They looked half dead" Loki shook his head. " No, forget that for now. We've been here talking for awhile now. Let’s go back to my Academy for a drink.”

“Academy?”

“Oh, yes, I never told you, did I? I am now the proud owner of a very prestigious "Academy". Students of all races and species are welcome~ We even have some young gods and demi-gods. Did you know that Hera and Zeus had a new kid hidden away? He’s 15 this year. Gonna be admitted as a freshman. I have to say, Zeus really does coddle that one. Compared to that Hercules kid, this one is pretty meek. A shame considering his namesake.”

Wait, hold up. There are so many things wrong with what he just said. First off…

“What the hell are you doing running a school? And are you mixing mortals in there? Are you insane?”

He snorted disdainfully at me. “Who’s insane? As if you have a right to judge. And just so you know I am a very capable Headmaster, dammit!”

Roland raised an eybrow and looked at him curiously.

“No, I never said anything about your ability to govern a school, you know? I just question why you, a god, are running one in the first place.”

Loki looked away.

“…. I was bored. Also, no, I'm not mixing mortals in there... Even I have limits. They go to a separate building miles away. The place I usually stay at is full of the more…special races. You know, elves, beastmen, and the occasional demon or other such existences. Trust me, it’s fine. Stop talking, let’s go already.”

“Wait, now? The others are still uncon—“

“It's fine, it's fine~. Don’t worry about it, I’ll bring them too. Now, let’s get out of here, shall we?”
