《Immortal Ascension Tower (OLD)》Chapter 84 - Sharp Tongue, Small Dong

Xiao Wu and Fu Yin stared at the two contestants exchanging blows on the stage.
One was the young cultivator who had also fought for the right to become the Sect Head, the one who had a body that shone like an electric bulb, Hu Song.
The other was none other than the disciple of Sect Protector Fa Guan, Dan Yang. At the moment, the two were equally matched, however it could be seen that Dan Yang had the initiative over his opponent.
His hands moved like lightning as what looked like silver threads whistled through the air, slashing towards the shining youth, attempting to trap him within. Hu Song gritted his teeth and dodged to his right, just in time to evade the threads.
The two fighters both stopped where they stood: while Dan Yang seemed completely unhurt and looked perfectly able to go on, Hu Song was completely drenched in sweat and most of his clothing had been turned into straps of cloth.
"Giving up already?" Dan Yang asked, his robes fluttering in the wind, his stern face made him look ever similar to his master, Fa Guan. Some who made the comparison had to hold in their laughter: the two were the exact same!
"Whatever might you be talking about?" Hu Song inhaled as his grey hair fluttered in the wind and his handsome face showed a wide grin "I just finished warming up!"
"Watch out not to heat up too much... You might end up burning yourself!" Dan Yang, smiled viciously and then waved his sleeve, five silver threads appeared, each connected to one of his fingers.
He then grabbed the five threads and gave a light pull: suddenly, silver threads appeared in the air all around the young Hu Song, as if they had been laying on the ground, waiting only for that moment to show themselves!
They were so dense that there was no escape route left available! Like a spider entrapping his prey in his web, Dan Yang had waited for the right moment to strike!
Hu Song stared in shock at the countless threads: he now understood why Dan Yang had not finished him off before, when he could have done so with a little more effort... It was because he didn't need to!
Hu Song had already fallen for his schemes!
Dan Yang gave a light pull and the threads, looking like countless thin blades hovering in mid-air, suddenly approached Hu Song and only stopped when they each drew a drop of blood from the boy's body.

Hu Song gulped and didn't dare move too much "I... I forfeit!"
Hearing that, Dan Yang wiped away the vicious smile from his face and then bowed "I thank fellow disciple for your guidance! Your technique is truly pleasing to the sight and this disciple had to use all his strategic planning to be able to break through it! It might have seemed easy at a first glance, but due to fellow disciple Hu Song's sharp eyesight, this disciple had to be careful..."
A single tear streaked down Hu Song's cheek as the boy shouted in his mind:
'I don't care about face, just remove these freaking threads! I can't feel my legs anymore!' He gritted his teeth "I know you are doing this on purpose because I was flashier, I apologize! Wu wu, why do you always have to be the center of attention?
...
Xiao Wu and Fu Yin nodded at the same time in appreciation. The girl opened her mouth to speak but the boy was faster "To use threads like that... truly, an ingenious way to wear down the opponent and then give the finishing blow, straight outta nowhere!"
Xiao Wu nodded "And such flattery! What technique!"
Fu Yin smiled knowingly as he shook his head "I truly need to learn Senior's art! Such skillful use of the tongue must be unparallelled in a radius of hundreds of miles! Truly, I cannot miss such an occasion to learn from the words of a true master!"
Xiao Wu sweatdropped "Are you sure you should be saying that?"
Fu Yin chuckled "Everyone has their own perk... I have many of them!"
"Modesty isn't one I suppose..."
"Haven't been killed yet, that should be counted as quite the achievement!"
"..."
Sou Rou looked at the two bickering children and smiled in her head "You two... Shouldn't you be paying more attention to who is going to fight in the next match?"
Xiao Wu and Fu Yin both turned and tilted their heads in confusion.
"Uh? Who?" Xiao Wu asked.
"Fang Lu of course!" Sou Rou smiled knowingly.
Hearing that, Fu Yin's expression grew serious. He turned to look at the stage and, surely enough, he was there. Xiao Wu also bit her lips as she looked at the chubby youth standing without a care in the world.
If someone was to ask who she would want to fight the least in the whole younger generation of the Golden Emperor Sect, it would have to be Cheng Hao. However, aside from him, there were two more existences she feared just as much.

One was Fu Yin: few beside her knew of the real strength of the young boy as well as how many cards he had up his sleeve. He also was really sharp and, in a fight, where a single misstep could spell life or death, those lifeless, blue eyes would catch them all!
The other was none other than Fang Lu! After all, the chubby youth was a mystery to all and everyone! Few have ever seen him fight, but those who did would be scared speechless at the mere mention of his name! And nobody had ever seen him go all out!
As the man had been smart enough not to fight at the time, Xiao Wu and Fu Yin didn't have the chance to see him battle against Cheng Hao during the fight for the Sect Head seat, thus they had no way to measure his power. That meant, no one had ever seen Fang Lu get serious in a fight!
And that was also the reason why Xiao Wu seemed so nervous: if she won the first round, which she had a good deal of confidence in succeeding, she would be up against none other than... Fang Lu!
...
"Pfff, what am i looking at here?" The young man standing a few meters away from Fang Lu scoffed "What is such a lamb such as you doing here, in the wolves' den? What's up, fatty?"
His Sect robes seemed about to burst apart from the tension as the man flexed his muscles and stretched.
He was pretty buffed and had red hair that reached down his waist as well as a fiery, red beard. He looked no older than twenty, yet he was still so tall and large he looked like a small, moving mountain!
What's more, his fat belly and chest hair sticking out weren't really too pleasing to the eyes. Especially the smell and his breath. Some of the members in the audience had to fight back the instinct to hold their noses from the strong smell of alcohol and urine.
That was no cultivator! He was a gorilla with drinking problems! Even his lineaments recalled a monkey's! However, no one would have enough courage to say this out aloud...
"Are you... Really a cultivator?" Fang Lu chuckled as a vein popped on his forehead "You are more like a big monkey... A monkey that has drunk so much it forgot the only verses it should be doing are screeching and smooching sound when they lick their butts!"
Up in the sky, Mu Gu sighed as he shook his head "Seriously Little Lu... You should stop getting enraged over something so small... Calling you a Fatty is no big deal, why do you have to get so angry over it?"
"He actually went ahead and said it!" The crowd paled: that red-haired man, no matter how he looked like, seemed extremely strong! He was one of the Core Disciple that had joined the Sect after it changed its name into the Golden Emperor Sect, so few knew what his true strength was...
And now, Fang Lu had actually dared to antagonize such an existence!!
"You... What did you call me?" As expected, the man's shoulders trembled as veins popped on his forehead "You dare call me, Tai Dong, a drunk monkey?"
"Oh? So your name is Tiny Dong... Guess it suits the man..." Fang Lu crossed his hands in front of his chest, his eyes burning with a never seen before killing intent.
"Ti-Tiny..." Tai Dong paled.
"Pfff!" Fu Yin fell from his chair as he held his belly. As soon as he sat back up he began laughing uproariously and could not recover for at least ten breaths.
"That... Was genius!" Fu Yin wiped away his tears "Genius, I say!"
Seeing the scene, the girls in the crowd also giggled and the men roared in laughter as some particularly confident male members of the audience pushed out their chests in pride.
Tai Dong's face turned red, purple, green and then red again. He stomped his foot on the ground and roared, his cheeks red "Silence!"
However, how could he possibly shut up the crowd of thousands of people all by himself? In the crowd, an old man who wore the Sect Protector robes was also laughing nonstop: had Tai Dong seen this scene, he would have probably stared in disbelief, because that man... Was his own master!
With but a few words, Fang Lu had captured the heart of the whole audience, even the other's master's, as well as lowering the morale of his opponent!
Xiao Wu stared in shock as she couldn't help but snicker in her mind "Is he truly Fang Lu? Had I not known, I would have mistaken him for big brother!"
Fu Yin also nodded as he wiped away the tears "Who was the first to claim that words hurt more than blows? Had he seen this scene, he would have died happily!"
