《Immortal Ascension Tower (OLD)》Chapter 76 - Red Body, Empty Mind!

Where... Is this?
""Ren Hong!"" A dark skinned, burly man with white hair bellowed.
As he spoke, his fist slammed into the body of a human with scales growing on his forehead, blowing him into smithereens. The burly man then turned and yelled.
""Why are you spacing out in the middle of a battle! Hurry, your Elder Sister won't be able to hold on of much longer!""
... What... This voice... What did he just say?... Did he call me... Ren... Hong?
The red skinned boy opened his eyes: they were like two rubies, red just like his crimson hair and scarlet skin... he wore a white, sleeveless undershirt and loose dark pants. His long hair fell down his back, almost touching the ground, a silvery feather dangled from one of the locks which also covered his right eye.
In those crimson jewels that were the young male's eyes was stupor as well as confusion.
He quickly surveyed the situation around him: in front of him were two people, battling their way through a seemingly never-ending army of cultivators. Off in the distance, in the middle of such army, was a complicated formation.
Sealed within was a woman together with six other unknown figures. The six figures kept trying to catch up to the woman's fast movements but in vain. As time went on though, the woman's breathing slowly grew rugged, while the six men simply propped pills into their mouth, recovering their spent energy, and resumed their chase.
Anybody else who entered the formation wouldn't be able to come back out, so the seven were stuck in this game of cat and mouse until the felines, in this case the six cultivators, caught their prey...
Such speed... Could that possibly...
""Dammit!"" The burly, dark-skinned man yelled once again as he bit his tongue: lightning crackled, mist began to churn as the man's body grew in size and changed its shape. Soon, it had become thousands of meters tall. He kept growing, each moment that passed, his figure would be two times bigger than it had been before! However.. his shape was not human. It was a Turtle.
A Black Turtle!
After a few breaths had passed, the beast had become astonishing in terms of both size and the terror it instilled into people's hearts: its two, no, four eyes glowed with otherworldly light as blazing killing intent burned within. On its body that seemed big enough to hold a whole country on its back, rivers flowed into lakes and trees grew.
Even live animals such as boars and the like lived on top of the turtle shell, as if the Turtle wasn't a beast all but was actually a mountain! This was none other than the Divine Earth King, ruler of the True Earth's lands!
The turtle bellowed in rage, its roars shook its surroundings, yet they did not harm the living beings on his back in the least.

As the Turtle morphed, the red skinned boy with crimson hair stared in shock and disbelief at what was happening. From his expression, it was as if his world had been turned upside down.
Eldest... Brother?
"Youngest Brother! Hurry up! Those guys planned this very well... Sister can't transform because of that sealing formation, we have to help her!" the voice of a male reached the red eyed boy's ears.
Youngest brother?
Just as the red-sinned boy turned his head in disbelief, a bald youth sped past him, gritting his teeth as he did a hand sign "Eldest brother, I'm going to borrow your water for a bit!"
The Turtle humphed, this simple gesture seemed to shake the world: the cultivators that found themselves in a radius of a hundred metres from his body were sent flying and exploded into a mess of blood and gore.
""Go ahead!"" the gigantic Turtle breathed in and then stomped into the ground. As soon as he did that, the lakes and rivers on top of the turtle's body quieted until they became completely still.
The bald youth's body was battered in wounds as he ran straight into the army of cultivators ahead, all kinds of techniques and attacks landing on his body and soon most his clothing got blown into smithereens.
The only garments left were a pair of worn out pants, necklaces and jewellery made out of teeth, fangs and bones, and a pair of sandals that were now emitting a strange homing sound...
The bald youth spat out blood as an extremely fierce cultivator appeared in front of him: he had long, ginger hair that resembled a lion's mane.
Fierce flames covered his fists and his whole body was covered by a flaming armour. The cultivator grinned and shouted "So this is all the Four Divine Kings can do! Even the four Divine Beasts cannot fight back against Tian's seal after all!"
A tall yet extremely thin cultivator stepped forward: he had a crooked nose and piercing white eyes. His skin was full to the brim with wrinkles, his hair had long since decayed.
His yellow teeth were arranged into a wide grin as he chuckled "Kukuku... That wench, Jin FengHuang, did indeed rock the Seal's Foundation... She shattered the Sealing Formation, however you, who had been bathing into the Seal's might for millions of years, will still be somehow affected even though it is now gone! The era of the Primordial Beast has come to an end! It is now the era of us Beasts! We shall rule the Heavens alongside Tian!"
The bald youth gritted his teeth and simply ignored the duo as his two sandals began to emit an eery green light...
The thin cultivator flinched at that. He turned and noticed that the Turtle had suddenly stopped moving, as if it was waiting for something...
"Crap! Stop him!" the man yelled as he spat out a purple needle and sent it flying towards the bald youth's head. This needle looked extremely terrifying and its decaying aura made people feel as if they were in the presence of Yama, King of the Underworld, himself!

The ginger haired cultivator also blazed with killing intent as he punched out once more! This fist held an incredibly sharp intent, as if it could pierce past any and all defences!
Both the blows struck their target head-on. However, the ginger haired cultivator's fist didn't bite into the flesh, the needle didn't pierce the skull... They both met no resistance! The figure of the bald youth suddenly fell apart and turned into water!
The red-haired cultivator cursed "Damn! Everyone, fall back towards the Sealing Formation! We have to take down the White Tiger first!" he tried to jump towards what seemed to be an extremely complicated formation, but was met with an earth spike that flew straight through his forehead!
The Black Turtle snorted as he retracted his gaze from the red-haired man's headless corpse: that blow had destroyed the man's consciousness completely ""Take who down? Here, right under our nose? In your dreams!""
On the Turtle's back was a large lake... On top of that lake, standing on the water, was the bald youth, his eyelids closed, his hands blurry as he kept doing countless hand seals. Finally, his eyes opened and a flashy blue light emitted from within!
"RAAAAAAAAAARGH!" The youth's veins seemed to turn into countless purple snakes as they began to crawl under the man's skin. Meanwhile, the azure dragon tattoo on the top of his head and on his back began to emit a blinding blue light...
Nobody, not even the gargantuan Turtle could look directly at the light. The red-haired boy also had to look away. However, this time, his thoughts were thrown into an even bigger mess! What is happening?
He had understood the identity of the Black Turtle, of the bald youth and already had a guess of who the female within the formation could be... However, this all didn't make sense!
Meanwhile, the bald youth's figure had disappeared. Instead, a humongous Azure Dragon had taken his place: its body was long and sinuous, although much smaller than the Turtle was, its blue eyes as deep as the ocean and as chaotic as a tempest stared down on the now terrified army of cultivators below.
The dragon's whiskers and what seemed to be purple hair fluttered in the wind, an intense will of storms and tempests loomed on the battlefield. The countless scales were not perfect, being as they were, covered by countless scars. However, these scars did not in any way make the beast appear in any way less fierce or weaker...
He floated in the air, the countless fins present on his body vibrating from the dense bloodlust of the Divine Beast, the King of the Seas!
The dragon lifted its head and roared to the sky "Those that serve Tian are those that shall meet Yama tonight! These words are mine, Ren Long's, do you perhaps doubt them? Then go ahead and experience my might with your own body!"
Dense clouds appeared in the sky, blotting out the sun. Crackling and thunders could be heard as the lightning began to fall down.
The Black Turtle snorted as, with a single glance, countless earth spikes, cracks and landslides eclipsed hundreds of cultivation from existence ""Always so flashy... Just kill them already! That seal binds down Elder Sister's cultivation even more with each moment that passes, otherwise why would she worry about such measly cultivators attempting to catch her?""
Ren Long, the Azure Dragon, humphed and then waved its two biggest fins, located about a quarter of the length of his body from the head, and its two eyes glowed "Rejoice! Rejoice in Death that I, the Divine Sea King, Ren Long, lowered myself to killing you with my real self!"
The Azure Dragon's body suddenly began to emit incredible bloodlust as the water forming the lakes near rivers on top of the gargantuan Turtle's body began to rise into the air, each drop looking like an incredibly thin yet extremely sharp blade.
Countless of these drops, enough to fill a sea, rose into the air and then assembled into the shape of a sea dragon made out of water: this dragon was bigger than the Azure Dragon was and it gave the impression of being as sharp as an unsheathed blade and at the same time holding a force superior to that of a tidal wave!
Ren Long grinned fiercely and then looked down "... Die."
Screams of pain and anguish echoed into the large battlefield as the water dragon swept through the large army like a hurricane sends wooden houses flying into the air. Soon, a path towards the sealing formation had been cleared and the two massive beasts stepped forward, speeding towards the light of the Seal.
What... Is... Happening?
The red boy hesitated. Attempting to shed light on his uncertainties... He looked downwards and examined his body.
As soon as he did that though, his legs went limp. He fell on his knees as unparalleled disbelief appeared on his face, his mind reeling with shock: everything that was happening... Simply shouldn't be happening!
The red skin... The crimson hair... The silver feather, the loose undershirt and even the black pants! He had the feeling that, if he really tried, he would be able to control any and all flames at will!
The only difference being that this was a male's body instead of a female's, for everything else this body was none other than... Divine Fire King's own body!
And the person that was now inhabiting such body...
Was none other than the reincarnated Xu Ling, Cheng Hao!

Gores, Sexual Contents, and Traumatising Contents are limited and I try my best not to write them. However, for the progress of the story, I can't help but write some of them in the latter part of the story. However, don't expect them too much ^_^ English is not my native language, so there might be grammatical errors (maybe a lot), but I'll try to fix them, so constructive critiques will be appreciated (^_^)

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
