Chapter 8: The So Called Bodyguards

Annie and Mandy's PoV

As the two went to submit their quest they were approached by female players.

"Is your brother single?" Asked a girl who looked like a hooker with her skimpy clothes.

Instantly the two looked at each other, "He's taken and you wont pass his criteria if he's single." The two said in unison turning down all the females who asked them questions.

Pming each other the two conversed as they walked away.

Annie: They think he is our brother lol.

Mandy:I know right. We were so lucky we asked him to let us travel with him to the city.

Annie: Yah, its like a prayer answered when he showed up.

Mandy: If you didnt accept those guys party request we wouldn't have the chance to meet him it was like a blessing in disguise.

The two laughed at each other.

Mandy: Do you think he will let us call him kuya? (Kuya means older brother in Philippine language)

Annie: I dont know, should we ask him?

Mandy: Yes we should because its once in a lifetime where we find a good looking guy whose not only kind but awesome also and most of all cares about us.

Annie: Yah I know his so dreamy and his also kick ass. He not only help us go back to the city but also teached us about hunting and did you notice how he was mindful about us? He was attentive about how he would help us as we grind for levels.

Mandy: True, he always considered our well being first. It was really hard facing mobs but he tanked for us and letting us kill them taking most of the experience.

Annie: Yah I really like him.

Mandy: I like him too, I hope he will let us call him kuya.

Annie: Yah we should pm him later.

Mandy: Yes definitely.

They continued to walk to the Adventurers Guild with a smile on their face and a mission to fulfill.

Walking into the shop Requiem was greeted by the shop owner.

"I see you have grown much since the last time I saw you." The owner said to him.

Requiem nodded to him, "Yes Sir Rucha."

Rucha smiled at him and offered him to sit down, "So what do you think about the siege blade?"

"No words can explain how grateful I am Sir Rucha." Requiem bowed at the swordsmith.

After a while Requiem told the tale about his journey to him. The swordsmith had a silly expression plastered on his face. At the middle of the story a customer came inside and was shooed away by Rucha telling him to come back later. Closing the shop Rucha saw a familiar quartet walking by, the four girls were making a name for themselves in the city and they were widely known by the npc's as the bewitching beauties of Splendor. The four girls waved at him and the swordsmith waved back with a smile as he closed the shop. Continuing his story Requiem showed the mats dropped by the mini bosses, the swordsmith was awed as he listened to the tale. 'What a player to have defeated 3 mini bosses for a quest.' Rucha thought. Finishing the story Requiem asked if he knows a master tailor that can use the rare pelts he gained from the hunt but Rucha had a sad face and told him that there was a master tailor here in Splendor but she lost his son causing her to stop her craft, Requiem didnt press more about it and once again thanked him for his wonderful blade.

Requiem then asked if he can make weapons out of the bear paws and the unknown branch for his companions. Taking out the materials Requiem was bowing as he held them out. The swordsmith was so happy that he agreed instantly seeing as his boredom was easily changed to an ecstatic feeling. Remembering the ring Requiem asked the master weapon maker about it as he took it out the master instantly shouted, "Where did you get that?" Rucha took the ring and he was right about it. He looked at the kid, "Are you just lucky or is it fate?" A questioned look came to Requiems face, "Pardon sir?" He let out.

A few minutes of silence enveloped the area then Rucha spoke, "I know who the owner of this ring is and I can tell you where you can find the house." Taking out a piece of paper Rucha drew some kind of map and handed it to Requiem, 'Atleast its not a traffic light map again.' He said to himself. Rucha told him to come back later for the weapons once he finishes his quest.

Requiem walked out of the shop when he received a pm from 2 bubbly teenagers.

Annie and Mandy: uhmnn Requiem can we please call you Kuya? Please please please please.

Requiem laughed at the pm, he already considered the two girls as his sisters. When they were traveling the two girls were like an open book who never spoke a lie to him. He liked honest people and the two teenage girls were only talkative which made the journey pleasant. They once talked about whats cooler a ninja or a pirate and the scene was so funny as they acted out some moves the character they portrayed do, Requiem laughed really hard on the ground as he couldnt take much more of the scene happening infront of him.

@ Annie and Mandy: Ofcourse you can, maybe you want to join me for my quest?

Annie and Mandy: Sure Kuya where are you at?

@ Annie and Mandy: I'm infront of the weapon shop, I'll wait for you guys here.

A few minutes later the two girls arrived panting which caused Requiem to laugh again, "I didnt say come fast."

Mandy raised her head, "We didnt want you to wait Kuya." Annie smiled and nodded.

"So where should we go?" Asked the headband wearing Annie.

Requiem showed them the map and they headed for the direction it tried to show.

As they walked Requiem was kinda getting embarrassed as the two girls held hands with him, Mandy on the left and Annie on the right. The two girls were short maybe around 5'2 or 5'3 and standing beside Requiem who was 5'9 they really looked like his sisters. A few seductive glares were being thrown at him but instantly one of the girls would say some comments and instantly the female got shutdown. He was happy that now he had some sort of a shield against people who came to him and tried to befriend him for the wrong reasons.

As the 3 passed by the cafe 4 familiar people noticed Requiem.

"Isnt that Caleb?" Snow a.k.a Nisa told her friends.

Primrose a.k.a Scarlet nodded her head as she looked at the long haired man sandwiched by two short beast girls. The three of them never saw Caleb ingame and seeing him now with longer hair was another experience for the three friends. Queen looked at her friends, "uhmnn Shall we follow them?" The three nooded instantly knowing Queen made it her mission to apologize to him.

Requiem stared at the mansion which looked like a hunted mansion, the garden was not maintained and weeds and other flora were growing in them. It looked creepy as hell seeing the dead trees near the mansion.

"Are we going in there?" Pointed Annie with trembling hands, Mandy was doing the same thing as Annie.

Requiem slightly held their hands tighter, "First we should wait and see if their is someone living in that mansion." Comforting the two girls he smiled at them causing them to calm down.

A moment later a maid passed by them and entered the mansion. The three looked at each other confirming that the mansion indeed has living people living in it. They walked to the door and Requiem knocked.

"If you dont want to die dont ever come here again." A feminine voice said at the other side of the door. "We are not an attraction sight for you people to come and see." Another one said.

"Please you have it all wrong." Requiem answered, " As I was exploring a cave in Mount Majesty I came upon a ring which belonged to Adam Tabed."

Upon hearing the name Adam the door opened instantly and the maids faces were hard to describe for the three. The mansion was well maintained inside, the floors were wiped clean as they seemed to sparkle and everything was in order.

One of the maids ran up to the second floor and disappeared as she ran towards a door. "Please have a seat." The other maid showed them to the waiting area.

"What made them change their minds, earlier they threatened us now they are polite." Mandy spoke silenty to the two.

"Its the name Adam." Answered Requiem.

A few moments later an old lady wearing a gown came down the stairs. Looking at Requiem menacingly.

"Please forgive Madam she had too many people come here saying they know what happened to her son but cant show any proof about it." Spoke the maid.

@Mandy and Annie: Follow what I do.

Bowing his head to the lady of the mansion the girls did the same things. "Show me the proof or else I will call the guards and throw you in prison." The angry lady spoke harshly at the three.

Taking out the ring and handing it to the lady, the mansion echoed with cries of hurt no cries of longing would better explain it. The lady wailed as she held the ring near her heart. Annie and Mandy were crying as they looked at the state the Lady was in, the maids also cried as they looked at their Madam. Requiem stood there and looking at the Lady it broke his heart, tears fell from his eyes. (If you lost a love one, a really close person to you, you will know what im trying to say in this scene) A parent should never bury his/her own child.

3 hours passed when the lady calmed down. She hugged Requiem and the girls thanking them for bringing the ring back to her. Requiem told the story about how he found the ring. His Master had him do a quest where he fought the bear to a death match, after the battle he looked inside the cave and found Adams bones. He explained that maybe the son was taking refuge their from a storm but didnt know it was a bears lair. After burying Adams remains he had to bring the ring back. The girls couldnt believe what they just heared, the bear was a mini boss and its level was around 70 and Requiem defeated it in battle. Requiem took out the bears hide from his inventory and all the of them stared at it slack jawed.

The Lady thanked Requiem for bringing justice to her sons death.

Ding!

You have finished the quest by bringing the ring back.

Now Adams soul will rest in peace and his family has found closure.

Requiem looked at the Lady and then to the two girls who were smiling silly at the 4 levels they gained from the quest.

"My apologies for my rude behavior earlier Sir Requiem, my name Maria and I want to make an offer for you services for my son and my family." Spoke the Lady, " I want to make your equipment from the materials you gained from your quests."

Requiem was taken back but after a few minutes he pieced the puzzle together. Rucha told him about the master tailor who stopped doing her craft, seeing as Lady Maria offered her services she must be the one Rucha spoke about.

"Thank you madam, please make me a suitable armor for my fighting style and please make some armors for my sisters as well." Taking out all the pelts he gained he laid it in front of the table. Bulks of elk and wolf pelts made a mountain on the table. The mere quantity of items awe strucked the people in the room.

Lady Maria had them follow her in another room, she had sewing machines and other tools to make equipment in the room. After a few giggles and lust full comments from the maids later, Requiem was seated in the sofa trying to get rid of the things the maids did to him as they took his measurements. Annie and Mandy were getting out of the measuring room and headed to his direction, "Kuya did the maids do something to you?" Mandy let out.

Trying not to think about it Requiem stayed silent. Lady Maria told him that his equipments will be made out from the mini bosses materials and his sisters will be from the other mats. The two girls nodded at her and requested that she make a cloak that has a collar which can hide the lower part of their brothers face. They told her how many times girls tried to hit on him causing Lady Maria to chuckle at the thought. Requiem just stood there nodding as the girls conversed with Lady Maria.

'Girls and their fashion sense.' He thought looking at the two girls who were explaining what style they wanted to the master tailor. Looking at the sketch for his cloak he saw that the collar can cover the lower part of his face from the nose down, the cloak didnt have a hood seeing as he had long hair and it would be a waste to hide said the two girls.

It was already midnight in real life and the 3 decided to log out to sleep before coming back after 6 hours.

"How long will they stay there?" Sarah asked her friends.

"Yah we should rest and come back tomorrow." Added Snow.

Looking at her friends Queen nodded, "I hope we can see him tomorrow."

"Atleast now his back we just have to find him later." Answered a sleepy Sarah.

"Yeah, see you guys later." Primrose yawned and each one of them logged out deciding to try their luck the next day.

Logging in Requiem saw a set of items in a stand, he examined them and they really were of great quality.

"Put them on." Lady Martha spoken out.

Coming out of the changing room whistles were heard in the room. Requiem looked at the onlookers seeing the girls and the maids whistling. Lady Maria had a smile on her face as she looked at him.

Standing infront of the mirror he looked at himself. The color combination of his items were excellent. The armor, pants, gloves, and boots had a few stripes of red in them each forming a distinct style which looked great as he walked. The cloak complemented the set also being colored red it also has stripes of black forming a cross and it hugged his body well. Taking out his giant blade he strapped it on his back and now looking at the whole outfit he looked like a character from Devil May Cry. He did a couple of stances and the items didnt restrict any of his movements.

Smilling at how he looked he noticed that the girls already wore their new items, Mandy had a track suit which covered all her body and wore a skirt which complements the suit, she had a leather breastplate also and a big ribbon tying her hair in a ponytail, the items complemented her rabbit features also. She looked quite stunning in her pinkish outfit. Annie on the other hand had skiny leather pants and boots dyed in black, the boots has knives strapped on them. She wore a tight top also covered in a leather armor which made her look like an assasin instead of an archer. She had three clips now instead of a headband on her head which made her hair fall on the side of her face which went well with her fox ears and tail. The both of them equipped their weapons, "You guys look stunning." Requiem complemented the two which made them blush.

"Thanks for the items Kuya." The two said in unison.

"Dont thank me, Lady Maria made us our equipments." Said Requiem looking at the old lady who smiled at the three.

Bowing their heads the three thanked Lady Maria and the maids for what they did for them. Now they look more like real adventurers.

As they stepped out of the mansion 4 girls walked up to them. Seeing the 4 beautiful girls coming nearer, Annie and Mandy instantly went to defense hooking their arms at Requiem taking their positions respectively like before.

"Its been a while Caleb." Greeted Primrose as she held out a hand to Requiem but instantly shooked by Annie.

"How do you know our brother?" Annie glared at the group.

"I didnt know you had female siblings, hello their little sisters." Primrose added.

Mandy grunted, "Aunty please were not your younger sisters." She let out.

A sudden burst of laughter filled the air as Snow and Sarah laughed out loud. Queen was trying to suppress her laugh but to no avail she joined the other two. Primrose was shocked at being called Aunty she stood there like a statue. Suddenly a cry of pain was coming from Mandy as she held the top of her head with tears starting to gather in her eyes.

"Sorry about that Primrose, my little sisters are just overprotective." Rubbing his hand at the place where he hit Mandy which made Mandy smile.

Regaining her composure Primrose answered, "Thats okay I know she meant it as a joke." She smiled widely at Requiem.

A few moments later all of them were sitting inside the cafe. The group of witches seated infront of Requiem and his sisters. Looking at the menu of cakes, Annies mouth started to water. Annie had a sweet tooth causing her to be taken advantage off by the older girls future.

The group of 4 asked Requiem about the things he did the past months which of course Requiem only answered slightly. Nisa and Snow only got a yes or no response from Requiem while Primrose had sentences being answered to her questions. Queen tried to speak up but as she tried to ask she was given the silent treatment by Requiem which made her want to cry. Mandy and Annie constantly glared at the other 3 while they felt a little sympathetic to Queen.

Queen's PoV

You received a friend request from Mandy and Annie. Do you want to accept?

'Yes.' I said instantly in my head.

Wanting to leap for joy I smiled at the two girls. I ordered a large cake for them and they instantly did a thumbs up with a look saying we will help you.

@ Annie and Mandy: Please help me with your brother, I did a horrible thing to him in school and I've been wanting to ask for forgiveness since then but as you saw earlier he wont even spare me a look.

Annie: What did you do?

Mandy: Choose your words wisely because if we dont like what you will say we wont help you and delete you from our friends list.

Annie: Dont lie to us we will know when you do.

@Annie and Mandy: Yes, eversince I was young I had troubles making friends which caused me to do stupid things when I get nervous. At the start of school I always saw your brother teaching someone or reading a book. I wanted to be friend him but me being shy caused me to just look at him at school, I once had the opportunity to sit beside him in one class but when I was about to introduce myself my nervousness made me yell at him to make him introduce himself to me. What made it worse was when I accidentally spilled my coffee on him, I was about to go out of the classroom because of the scene I caused but when I was about to turn around my sweater was caught in the chair which caused me to let go of the cup which as I said spilled on him. Please please please help me speak to him. TT_TT

@Annie and Mandy: I know i acted like a person who boasts her status in life to him but its not really what i wanted him to see me as, ive seen him help people in the school. I, uhmnnn I really like that side of him. He always make time for others and if i can turn back time i would re do that moment. Im not like that so please help me Caleb's sisters.

Mandy: whoah your worse than Annie then lol.

Annie: Yeah thats true, still what a bad day for you to have.

@Annie and Mandy: Please help me little sisters, I will buy you cakes if you want to eat cake. Please help me.

Annie:Yay! Unlimited cake to eat.

Mandy: Okay we will help you, we will set a date where you can talk to him but its up to you if you want to be forgiven.

@Annie and Mandy: Thank you so much little sisters.

I smiled as I gained allies to help me. I looked at him and he avoided my eyes. If only you know how sorry I am.

After a while they said there goodbyes and walked towards the opposite directions. The two girls nodded and said something to Queen as they chased after Requiem who started walking ahead. "Did she do anything to you?" Asked Requiem at his sisters which instantly made them shook there heada sideways. Not wanting to know further he decided to just let it go.

"By the way I have one more gifts for you both." Smiled the happy big brother at his little sisters as they headed towards the swordsmiths shop.
