Chapter 7: When Hardwork Pays Off
Caleb looked at the R.O's site trying to find some information about his class, he was stunned by how many posts were there about classes. Looking at the list of classes found by players he saw that the warrior class was in the top 20 most used classes this didnt bother him at all knowing that there are class advancements for each class in the future.
Looking at the world rankings he saw a familiar name in the top 10 list, BlueRyuu was ranked 8 his level was 67 smiling at his friends rank Caleb decided to log in R.O again.
¤¤¤
Logging in he was staring at a familiar sight, he laughed lightly at the sight knowing this was the place he defeated the bear but a few seconds later a frown found its way on his face remembering this was also the place he got the sadist skill. Looking at the surrounding he noticed a worn out piece of clothing laying in the far most edge of the cave. He went near it and found out that there was scattered human skeletons around it.
'He must have entered here not knowing it was a bears lair. May you rest in peace.'
Picking up the worn out cloth he saw a ring buried slightly at the ground, reaching for the ring a sudden sound made him jerk a little.
Ding!
You found a Rusted Ring.
You stumbled upon the body of Adam Tabed.
While looking for herbs and other materials he made a mistake entering the bears cave taking shelter from a storm. He met his untimely demise facing the beast. His family never found out about what happened to him.
Bring the ring back to his family living in the city of Splendor and help them find closure.
Difficulty: E
Rewards: Unknown
Do you want to accept the quest?
"Yes." Requiem sympathized with the mans family not knowing what happened to him. "Don't worry I will tell your family."
Burying the body at the entrance of the cave he walked out and decided it was time to return to his master and finish his quest. Looking at his inventory he examined the Executioner Blade, it was a quest item and he cant equip it. "It would be great if I can use this sword." He said heading out. He had 5 stacks of elk pelts and 3 stacks of wolf pelts both normal quality mats. He also had stacks of meat from grinding mobs causing him to smile, the items can be sold for a good amount and not to mention the high quality mats he gained from killing the mini bosses. He noticed a rare unknown branch in his inventory he remembered he got it from his work chopping wood and clearing out branches it had a good quality and it said it was good for making bows or staffs.
He wanted to find a master tailor that can make use of the quality items without degrading the mats quality to make his new items but that would come later as he needs to deliver the ring first.
As he traveled he saw a pack of wolves ahead of him, instantly he dashed towards them dealing first blood. 'Experience come here.' He grinned at them.
The pack didnt give that much experience points anymore seeing as Requiem was at level 50 from all the battles he did. Half way through the mountain he wondered why he never saw mobs anymore not like when was looking for the cave, he constantly saw mobs as he looked for the place he needed to go. Requiem didnt know that the monsters steer clear out of his way only the unlucky pack of wolves didnt see him coming causing them to be annihilated. The travel was smooth sailing as he nearly reached Shibos territory.

Shibo was clearly disappointed at Requiem, the boy had gone out for a month now and he still didnt return. He wondered why Requiem didnt return fast, the quest was easy because if the boy was using his head he only needed to wait for the bear to hunt for food and get the sword. Shibo thought maybe the kid got killed by the bear and he never came back because he got scared.
He expected that Requiem cant kill the bear but he didnt expect the kid to quit. Walking outside he stared at the majestic mountain letting out a disappointed sigh. He was about to swear to the Gods that he wont ever take an apprentice anymore when a familiar figure was slowly descending the path he made at the back of the shack. Shibo was smiling like a kid in a candy store as the boy came closer but like always he hid his emotions to his apprentice.
"Oh I thought you died and decided to run away and never come back." The man said ofcourse what he felt was the opposite of what he said.
Requiem nodded apologetically to his master, "Sorry master it took me a longer time to locate the cave and kill the bear." Taking out the Executioner blade he handed it to Shibo.
"YOU WHAT?!!!" His master shouted.
Requiem looked dumbfounded at his masters reaction. 'Did I say something wrong?' He thought. "Master did I not met your expectations?" He added.
Shibo quickly regained his composure and decided to play along with his apprentice. "Yes you did well. " Trying to act cool about the sudden outburst he just did.
"Thank you master." Requiem looked at him like a kid waiting for some goodies to eat.
"Yes, yes now come inside." Shibo couldn't believe what just happened. The kid isnt the type to lie about things and seeing as the kid looked more manly now, 'He really did kill the bear.'
"First tell me what you did the past month." Shibo said to him as he sat down near the fireplace gesturing Requiem to sit also.
"Yes master."
Requiem told his master what he did the past month. He told him about the places he went to and how he grinned levels as he searched for the cave. He also told him how he saw the bear the first time and how he got to the elks grazing area. As he talked Shibo was really getting excited about his apprentice, the kid really was one of kind. He really did exceed his expectations by a mile. Continuing he told his master how he got killed by the red horned elk and how he took revenge by making the elks battle the wolves. He showed the mats from the mini bosses as he talked.
Getting hungry from just hearing the story Shibo told him to continue after they eat a meal. Shibo really was amazed at how he found a talented individual. When he was starting his adventures he was called great but the kid was different, he even cause two species to declare war at each other. The kid is in a different league from everyone, if Shibo was a prodigy then what would Requiem be? Shibo looked at the kid, 'What a monster.' Now Shibo is really anticipating what will happen in the future.
Requiem continued his tale and he told his master how he battled the bear. He fought the bear with all he had and when he was about to lose hope that he cant beat it the beast died. Ofcourse Requiem didnt tell him how he inflicted the finishing blow.

Shibo grinned at him and stood up, "Did you accept the class?"
"Yes master." Requiem answered.
"The job has many class advancements you will learn them in the future and you will find the best suited class for you. My job also started with the warrior class but as i advance in class i obtained what you can call one of the best hidden classes in this world. Remember an avalanche starts when a pebble starts rolling down at the peak of a mountain. Everything begins small." His master explained. "Now for your rewards."
Ding!
You have finished Master Shibo's Quest!
The War God Shibo saw how determined and diligent you were with the quests he asked you to do and because you exceeded his expectations he has been gracious to reward you handsomely.

'Whoah!' Requiem was having a concert in his mind. He cant believe the rewards he got from all of the quests he did. Now he had to check the sword and the book in his inventory.

"What the..." It nearly made Requiem jump for joy as he received his rewards. All his hardwork really paid off. Listening to his master explain all he can do was listen there slack jawed.
"I will also give you this skill book, I developed this my own and its only for my class so I couldn't teach it to you directly but with the help of this book you can by pass that and learn it. You will feel it as you take damage and when the maximum damage is accumulated your weapon will glow red. It will help you dearly in the future."
Ding!
You have used the skill book Burst Damage. You have learned the passive skill Burst Damage.

Burst Damage passive beginner level 1(00%).
Tears fell one after another streaming down his face. All Requiem could do was thank his master for all the things he had given him. Now he can really start his adventures. Thanking his master once more he bowed to Shibo and his master smiled at him. As he was about to open the door his master stopped him.
"Also Requiem visit the swordsmith Rucha in Splendor and thank him as he is the master who created your weapon. Tell him what you did in the quest also."
Looking at the old man Requiem bowed once again, "Thank you master I will do what you said. I will start my travels soon and visit when I can." Walking to his master he embraced Shibo causing him to be startled at first but a few seconds later his master was embracing him as well in a bone crushing way.
Shibo looked at his apprentice as he walked away. He smiled at the kid knowing that he will do great things in the future.
¤¤¤
Requiem was walking to reach Splendor city. He already walked for 2 days and he needed 3 more days to reach it. As he traveled he saw many players along the way hunting or doing quests not like when he first traveled to Mount Majesty no players were there only monsters. As he passed by players he received stares from them causing him to walk faster.
Stopping for a rest he headed to a tree on top of a hill. Sitting there a few players headed his way.
"Excuse me do you want to hunt hyenas with us?"
You received a party invitations. Do you want to accept?
Staring at the ground he slowly looked up at the person who invited him.
"Im sorry I need to return to the city fast." He told the guy who stood infront of him.
Party invitation declined.
"I see, sorry to bother you." The guy who wore an armor said to him. Walking away with his party which consist of 6 players in all. Looking at them walk 2 beast tribe players returned to him. A girl who wore her hair in a pony tail who had rabbit ears and a fluffy tail and another who had a hair band on her head who looked like a fox with her pointy ears and bushy tail.
"Do you need something else?" Requiem asked the two.
"If its not a bother can we please accompany you to the city?" The ponytail rabbit girl shyly asked him.
"We have been hunting none stop and we have to return to finish our quests. The party which we joined told us they were going back but instead we hunted mobs and went farther away from the city." Added the headband fox girl.
Looking at them he was about to talk but the ponytail rabbit girl interrupted him.
"We didnt tell them were tired of hunting and we wanted to go back but the way back is infested with monters, we dont want to lose a level and skill mastery so we went along with them." The girl explained.
"Whats wrong with those people," Requiem let out, "You can join me back to the city." He added he remembered his siblings as he stared at the two girls.
Both the girls smiled at him and thanked him. Standing up Requiem asked the girls to follow as he walked heading to the city.
The travel was pleasantly well, Requiem enjoyed the girls company as they talked none stop about things. He learned their names as they introduced their selves. The ponytail rabbit girl is named Mandy shorter version of her real name which was Amanda, the headband fox girl was Annie shorter version of her real name which is Anniebeth. The two girls were high schoolers senior year and they are best friends in real life. He told them his ingame name but not his real name which caused them to argue about him being unfair. Requiem gave up later and told them so that they would stop bothering him about it.
Night came and the 3 decided to camp along the road but Requiem told the two to look for a better spot to rest. They dont want to be attacked as they rested. Annie found a good place and its aboveground seeing as it was a tree with large branches intertwined and can hold the weight of 3 people. Resting there Requiem told them to log out and meet again after the two sleep in real life, he noticed that the girls were up playing straight without sleeping so he wanted them to rest first and log in after 6 hours. The girls argued again but they knew they couldnt win so they did what Requiem asked.

Caleb looked at his schedule for the month and the day he needed to teach was coming. A few more days and he will start his work. Sleeping for 3 hours he woke up and exercised for an hour then he went to for a run around the neighborhood for another hour. Returning home he took a bath and ate a meal then logged in.
¤¤¤
Requiem was staring at the two girls who were waiting for him. He asked the two if they slept and they nooded. 'This girls are gamers for sure' He thought. "Okay lets continue our journey. "
As they came across mobs the two girls fought them. Mandy was a brawler whose strength and speed got buffed well with the rabbit tribe while Annie was an archer whose abilities got buffed by being in the fox tribe their teamwork was really good and they killed mobs easily but their problem is when facing a group of mobs. The beastman race had its strength and weaknesses but when used to its full capabilities you will have a lot of fun playing in the said race. Mandy being in the rabbit tribe had perks with her job being a brawler because of the mobility and damage the race gives while Annie whose a fox had the ability to attract less attention which works well being an archer and the mobility it gives also helps a lot seeing as the two girls were short. The two of them were great against 5 enemies at most but higher than that they would get killed. The mobs were also the aggressive type so when they see you they will attack so the two of them cant return to the city without dying. The mobs were around level 15-30 and the girls levels are both 19 so they really will have a hard time if they traveled to the city.
Requiem decided to help the girls level up a little as they continue to the city. He acted like a tank letting the girls kill the enemies. At first the girls wondered what job he had because of the sword he only told them the truth about being a warrior but the girls didnt believe him saying he has a hidden class.
As they traveled Requiem decided that they grind a bit for levels causing the two girls to grin happily at him. The girls actually wanted to ask him about it but they were embarrassed to ask him. Finding a good spot to grind Requiem tanked the monsters for the girls to kill. They hunted like this against foxes, vipers and man eating plants. The girls leveled up to 24 as they hunted for 3 days while Requiem gained less experience because of the level gap with his party and the mobs. Now the girls can fight more easily as Requiem teached them both about tactics and ways to defeat an enemy faster. The girls never saw Requiem fight he only tanked the mobs for them, the girls wondered what level he was but only received a smile from him. They pestered him about it causing him to accept their request, as they walked to a group of mobs the two girls were about to speak when suddenly he dashed towards the monters and annihilated them within seconds as he walked back the 2 girls were waiting for flies to enter their mouths causing Requiem to laugh at them which broke the girls trance.
"What the heck was that?" Asked Annie, "Yah what the hell, you obliterated them in a few seconds," added Mandy.
Like usual Requiem only smiled at them and continued walking.
As they reached the city outskirts the girls thanked Requiem for all the trouble he faced with them. He only patted the girls heads, "I had fun traveling with both of you." Requiem really enjoyed his time with both of them not like when he did his quest, he had no one to talk too. A few players started to gather and some females were thinking how can two little girls know someone as cool as him seeing as the guy had an awesome looking blade strapped on his back and much more he looked pleasing in the eyes.
The girls were looking at each other as if they wanted to ask something from him. Requiem smiled at the two knowing what they were about to ask. He looked at the two like they were his younger siblings in this case younger sisters seeing as Requiem had younger brothers.
You sent a friend request to Mandy and Annie.
The girls instantly leaped and fist bumped the air then each other and doing a victory dance which looked cute because of their races causing Requiem to grin at them. Saying there farewell Requiem told them to pm him if they needed anything.
Parting ways the girls headed to submit there quests while he went to the weapon shop first.
