UNCLAIMED SPACE- EDGE OF UNK425
IRN Riptide- Bridge
One month is what it took to map the Binary system, it was amazing being able to scout a binary system but the radiation from the two stars was slowing down the mapping process. John had received coordinates from Captain Jones on where they could go to meet up and receive a reward for helping take down the Red Dawn. Going and getting the rewards could cause trouble with both the crew and FleetComm though. Every choice had a consequence...
'Jeeves can you tell me how long it would take to get to the coordinates we received from Captain Jones' John asked his A.I.
About five minutes later the chipper A.I. cam back 'Based on the coordinates it is about 36 hours away from our current location, I am sure the ship's navigator would be able to cut some time off from that estimate but I am not him' John thought about his choices and then sent the coordinates to O'Hansen saying that we would head there next.
After the last month and a half, the crew could use some downtime on a planet or station. Hopefully, the Xaranx would have one or the other at the coordinates. 'Kate, send a message to the XO that we are going to the coordinates provided by the Captain of the Rising Tide and that I want to work out a schedule for 12 hour passes for everyone. We have been stuck in this system for over a month, everyone could use some R&R. If whoever is in charge over there ok's it' John told the ships A.I.
"O'Hansen break orbit as soon as we are done here and head to the coordinates I gave you," John called out as he reviewed the system analysis.
UNK425 Component 1
Sun- Yellow, Early stages
Planet 1: Irradiated and unsuitable for colonization or mining
Planet 2: Green Zone Planet, has 1 mega continent with 3 large bodies of water, would be useful for large scale agriculture
Planet 3: Green Zone Planet, has a large amount of water and the land masses are mainly islands, under-water mining would be possible.
Planet 4: Gas Giant with small Deposits of H3
Planet 5: a Rocky planet that is small and could be used for mining and support underground and domed colonization

UNK425 Component 2
Sun: Yellow, Early stages
Planet 1: Irradiated and unsuitable for colonization or mining
Planet 2: Irradiated and unsuitable for colonization or mining
Planet 3: a Rocky planet that is large and could be used for mining and support underground and domed colonization
Planet 4: Green Zone Planet, 5 smaller continents with 8 bodies of water, Irridium is present
Planet 5: Gas Giant with Large Deposits of H3
Planet 6: Gas Giant with no Deposits of H3
System Notes- This binary system has 3 planets in the 'Green Zone' that can be colonized, due to radiation from the binary stars, mandatory inoculations for radiation poisoning for any settlers on ANY PLANET in the system. 4 large asteroid belts with 98 rogue asteroids and 120 meteor storms, due to the proximity of the Xaranx it would be recommended that we minimize the military presence in UNK425 until a treaty is signed.
"Ok, sir it will be 35 minutes until the Mass limit of the system then and then 34 hours until we reach the coordinates, based on the star charts its a star system and not a void space. I will drop us on the edge of the system so we can eyeball the star system before we get too close." O'Hansen called out.
XARANX SPACE- EDGE OF THE THORIN SYSTEM
IRN Riptide- Bridge
35 Hours later.....
"Ok people lets be friendly, make sure the weapons are on standby though. Ensign Daniels, what do we got out there?" John called out.
"Stealth Suite is active and we are moving into the system at ten percent speed, weapons on Standby Mode only." Lieutenant Johnson called out.
"We got a Red star with six planets around it, sensors are picking up a station around planet number four. We got about thirty destroyers and frigates around the system running patrols and about fifty freighters and tankers mainly around the fourth planet and the station there. I am picking up comm traffic all over the place as well and a Comm Buoy for out system comm traffic." Ensign Daniels called out from her station.
"Ok, go ahead and drop us out of stealth and hail the station," John commanded.
"Welcome to Thorin system, everyone is welcome. I see you are on a Warship, do you have some business with the Free Trade Guild or are you just visiting here for some R&R?" the station called out

"Hi I am Captain John Port of the Riptide, I am here to meet Captain Jones of the Rising Tide and I was wondering if I could send over my crew for some R&R, I just need to know the rules and regulations for visitors of your station so we don't break any," John responded.
"We will send over a packet with the rules and the coordinates on where you can station your ship until you leave, as you are a warship we will no allow the Riptide near the station. You and your crew are welcome to visit though. Captain Jones of the Rising Tide left the Thorin system around two weeks ago after completing repairs to both of the ships under his command, the representative of the Xaranx government is on the station and would like to see you through. I hope you and your crew enjoy your stay here." the station responded.
"Ok, from the info package we can have no more than fifty people from our ship on the station and no more than one hundred on the planet. They are willing to provide shuttle services to and from both locations at cost and no one can be armed with more than one blade and/or sidearm. It does not cost us anything to park here, but if we want to trade the Guild takes five percent of any transaction. We also will be escorted to and from where we will park." Ensign Daniels reported.
"Ok take us toward the fourth planet at twenty-five percent of max speed, I don't want to spook our hosts. 'Kate let the XO know that the locals approved R&R for our crew and forward the rules they have for them when they are on the station/planet'" John ordered.
About another hour later the Riptide stopped at the designated coordinates they had been given. The crew would have eight hours of shore leave and would be going in lots of forty toward the planet and station. They had to stay in groups of four at all times and report in every two hours, no drunken brawls would be allowed or they wouldn't be allowed shore leave next time they got into port. Two marines would be coming with John to the station to see the ambassador. After that maybe some alien food and then back to the ship.
One hour later he was in the office of the ambassador finishing up the conversation. "Well Captain, my cousin spoke very well about you. How you both saved his crew and ship and somehow managed to capture the Red Dawn. That ship has been...an annoyance for not just the Xaranx. You earned a lot of goodwill be stopping them. Now I know you are just a captain in the Remnant military machine but if that changes and you need our help, don't forget you have friends out here."
Secret Mission Complete: Friends in Strange Places
Description: Have at least 1 foreign government that is friendly toward you and your crew.
Rewards: The Xaranx views you and the Riptide as friends and will come to your aid if you need it. This can affect how other Factions will view you and your ship. (Note: If you establish an Alliance Faction this relationship can carry over.)
"Now Captain I have plenty to do today, enjoy your stay here at Blackrock Station. If you come around here again, feel free to look me up." with that John left his office and headed toward one of the common areas that had multiple eating establishments. 'Jeeves tell me everything you know about Alliance Factions?'
Alliance Factions: groups of travelers that work together for a common goal. For every traveler, you can have 10 locals within the faction. As your Alliance Faction grows stronger you will have benefits from it as well.
Requirments to found a faction...
Compact of an Alliance
10 Traveler signatures
Base or Facility to operate out of
Must be filed within 1 month of founding with any Faction
So it was a guild, in other words, one that allowed NPCs to be a part of, interesting. As John and the marines made it into one of the common areas of the station he saw dozens of beings. Some were selling products and/or services others were talking to neighbors, even some players were running about although those were few. Time to find some lunch then back to the ship...

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y
