Time passed without incidents for these past years, we stayed in our wing of the palace without disturbing anyone and no one came to make things difficult for us, so we managed to grow quite powerful without no one knowing apart from our mother.

Today is our 8th birthday and Julie says it's the time when our stats stop growing without limits and the leveling system kicks in. I personally managed to use this time in the most useful way possible and I can now use more or less all of my old abilities, but I still need to implement my skills in my martial art style.

The time with our mother was the best thing I ever experienced in both my lifes; the feeling of being protected and loved no matter what you do is amazing, and when she cuddle me, then I simply melt each time in her arms, while my mother chuckles.

She's the most perfect mother that one could hope for, but she should never be enraged, or a demon appears behind her; in the beginning I thought of it as a magic to influence us, but I soon found out that it's her aura that leaks when someone manages to piss her off.

Sometimes she takes us outside the palace and we go into a forest to train, she taught me everything needed to be an huntress, but my bow abilities are not as good as hers. She can easily hit the head of a not moving target in a five kilometers range, while everything moving in a three kilometers range is fair game... scary.

I think I can consider myself quite powerful for my age, but as I concentrated on raising my stats, my skills level fell behind by quite a bit. The most useful skill is obviously the Yin twin soul, as I can benefit from my sister stats; they don't show in the status, but I can feel it when we are more than 100 meters apart.

I also noted that the more we stay apart, the worse it is, like if something is missing, and I'm not talking about the stats; I fear that if one of us ever dies, then even without the sharing of the health and mana pool, the other will soon follow. That's how much we have grown close to each other.

During some of the nights, I also sneaked in the other wings of the palace, and what I found only confirmed my fears: everyone in the palace is racist to the extreme, they see us as livestock ready to be married off.

All our royal brothers and sisters have grown to be the classic definition of idiot nobles, they see themselves as invincible Gods... don't they know that a blade can still easily kill them in less than a second? I'll never understand.

The only prince that's different from the rest is the 9th prince; I started to investigate on him when I found out that he and my sister became friends during the time spent in the royal library.

He's actually studying how to manage the kingdom because he's convinced that his father can clearly see who's more suitable for the throne, so he's letting the 1st prince and everyone else do the part of the jesters while he's accumulating favour from the king.

I must say, even though he's quite cunning and double faced, he can understand the situation better than his brothers and it's not like he's evil, he just doesn't want to leave the kingdom in the hands of an idiot; for the rest he's quite the good guy that can discern right from wrong and imagination from reality.

Because of his character, he could probably feel my sister's aura and tried to befriend us, not that I mind, there is a saying: better alone than alongside idiots; but if there is a good ally nearby, I intend to take the offer.

You never know when you could need some external help. Because of those reasons, I once entered in his room while he was sleeping, and after waking him up, I offered our help if he ever needed, in exchange he would look our backs.

I'm pretty sure he understood what I meant; even though I am already in the palace, entering in the sleeping room of a member of the royal family is not something that a common assassin can do.
