Jack viewpoint
I can feel it, whatever the string is attached to is coming to me, but that is only natural, I already knew that it would happen, I simply decided where I would die.
The moment I pressed the switch that ignited the C4, my string became blood red before disappearing, while all the others relocated and increased their size.
Now I'm here, near the place where I buried my sister, waiting for something that has to come; I could try to flee, but what for? I have a feeling that it will continue to follow me until the end of my day if it needs to, and I have no desire to run for all that time.
The last thing I did before coming here was to leave all my money to an orphanage, hopefully, they will have a use for it, no need to keep my money even in death, right?
Oh, it seems arrived... better start calling it with the real name: an doll, it seems the ones in the laboratory were awakened... though it doesn't matter, it was one of the things I accounted for and told to the authorities about, so they should have come prepared for it.
The strange thing is, I can clearly tell that she doesn't even have two hours left to live, but her string says the reverse, only judging from it, she should live forever, or even more.
She's also a lot weaker than Elise, but even with that I'm not a challenge for her, I learned more or less all the martial art books in existance (amongst many other subjects), but I never practiced them, so my muscles, bones and tendons are not developed.
She's coming near me right now, but I can't feel any desire of avoiding her, it seems I'll die at the hands of the person i killed... quite funny. I smiled when her arm pierced my body, right through the heart.

What's this? shouldn't I be dead?
-WELCOME MORTAL, IN THE PLACE WHERE ALL THE LIFE IS JUDGED- said a small girl of more or less six... I'm not sure why, but shouldn't she be a beauty that could shake heaven and earth, for whom countries would wage wars, with a lot of light from behind her in order to appear even more grandiose and holy?
-EHI, you, don't you think that a goddess can hear what you think?- complained the goddess.
-mmm... it makes sense, so... shouldn't you be a beauty that could shake heaven and earth, for whom countries would wage wars, with a lot of light from behind you in order to appear even more grandiose and holy?- (Jack)
-Ehi, it's not ok if you say it aloud, MOU, I've not called you here in order to let you say bad things about me- said the goddess while pouting... cute.
-ehehe, I see you're finally admitting my beauty- tch, I forgot that she can read my thoughts.
-so, why I'm here, I don't think you just wanted to have some small talk, right?- I asked while petting her... this is dangerous, it's not on the level of heaven falling, but two or three countries could surely wage war.
She smirked then answered me: -well, for one, you just saved a world, then you detached yourself from fate, wich I govern, and in the end you died, so... why shouldn't you be here?-.
-Well... for first I didn't save the world, just some people, second I'm quite sure I was not the one who made that possible and third... can't really refute that-.
-DINGDINGDING, two out of three... you won another pat on my head- said the goddess while putting my hand on her head -you did save the world, if you hadn't done what you did... then in another four years (more or less) the Sajin plan would heve bore fruits. Thing is, they didn't know that in the genetic code, survival is one of the most ancient instinct; if only one person is being controlled, then that one will obey, but all of them together? They will revolt-.

I stopped the patting, but the goddess looked at me with round eyes, so I continued -If it was only that, then even with humanity fall, it wouldn't have been a problem, but then humanity would have started to nuke everywhere... not that it would matter, some hundred thousand years and everything would be ok, but those clones would survive, killing every life form that moves, and between their natural regeneration ability, the fact that they are all over the world and some mutations thanks to the nukes... they would have turned immortal dolls, with the only instinct to kill what is different from them, for all eternity-.
-Ohi ohi, weren't there some super scary remarks about humanity fall in there?- (Jack)
-Well, when you are in charge of fate, and you have to judge all the beings in the universe, you tend to look to the achievements of the individuals, not the race... which brings back to you; normally fate, or the string, as you call it, is simply something that connect to the most probable ending, when someone manages to avoid, fight or escape from it, it simply changes to something else, you can see it as a sort of trial... but you went against the flow enough times to completely unbind yourself... do you really not like me?-.
CRITICAL HIT, goddess innuendo is super effective, the heavens may fall.
The goddess smiled again, then started talking again: -now, on to the real reason of why you're here, look there-.
My sister's soul appeared next to the place where the goddess pointed, then she said: -She's going to reincarnate with her memories intact in another world, I was thinking of sending you together with her, thanks to all the karma you two accumulated, you'll be able to be reborn as twins, but...-
The goddess pointed in another direction, from where Elise soul appeared -she will be sent to , her sins are too heavy, and now the choice: you can save her by giving her all your karma, she will keep her memories and be instead of you, your sister twin; you will also be sent to that world, but without karma, you will have to be reincarnated as a random lesser being, such ants, mosquitoes, termites, and some other... and even those would have more karma than you- said the goddess.
-So you're saying that I can save her at the cost of my life, right? The only question is: what kind of world is that you're sending us?-.
-Do you even need to ask? A world of swords and magic, technology is inexistent and the strong eats the weak; corruption is often seen and the dark part of the world is comparable to the light one, no one is safe, it only change how much you're in danger- answered the goddess.
-I see, so there's only a way, I don't have the confidence to say that I'll be able to train fast enough to protect the both of us from the dangers, moreover politics are not my field, it's better leave it to someone who experienced it; give my karma to Elise, but make her promise that she will protect my sister with her life if necessary... and say to her that if in the one in one million possibility that I survive, I'll go to search for her, she still owes me an answer-.
-Are you sure?- asked the goddess.
-As much as I can be-.

Book 3 of the Universe Series This novel continues the adventure from the previous novel, Ocean of Dreams. Each novel is meant to stand alone. Widhbo ( pronounced "wee bow") is a MC who will be in each of the six novels in the main series. The starship Sora had been hurtling through space using its FTL propulsion system toward the Dezba star system for over a decade since leaving the planet Beldora of the Hellsaxe system. The Sora had crash landed on Beldora over a century earlier carrying a couple of aliens from another dimension. The ship came from the Borrugal Realm, a band world associated with what was known as the Tor Galaxy, what we call the Milky Way. Human life on Beldora was never the same. Under the influence of the alien known as Widhbo, Beldora was catapulted from the steam age to the space age. The majority of the scientific advances on Beldora were attributed to the leadership of a brilliant man, Jejliard Castonea, who was secretly manipulated by the alien, Widhbo. When rapid advances in technology inadvertently led to a nuclear war, Jejliard decided to evacuate his family, friends and co-workers on the Sora. The plan was to find a new habitable planet and rebuild civilization until they could safely return home. Much to his despair, Jejliard’s family and friends opted to stay on Beldora to ride out the war underground. Even the other alien, Gengor, stayed behind. Borrowing technology stored in the archives of the Sora, Widhbo managed to transfer the personalities of those staying on the planet into digital storage units known as magitons which could survive indefinitely in cold, sterile space. Living crew members who elected to stay on board the Sora were also uploaded to ensure immortality for everyone in case their life support systems failed en route. Widhbo sought to design a cyber paradise for everyone inside their virtual worlds, but things never go as planned where Widhbo is concerned.
