《The undead who yearned for life》2-The day I fell in love

Jack viewpoint
-why?- I asked the girl -you have the most perfect and beautiful body I have ever seen in my life, and even though I don't know how, you're healing as we speak, in an hour at most you'll be as good as new-.
The girl looked at me with pleading eyes and said: -I already paid the price for this body of mine, but it wasn't of my own choice, it was a living in hell without any escape-.
Now that I looked better at her eyes, I discovered the pain and the unwillingness that they were hiding; without the possibility of resisting, I drowned in those eyes, which seemed to carry the weight of the world.
I never believed in those stories of love at first sight, for a relationship to work there must be three requirements: appearance, background and a good deal of hormones (which some people call ); if a couple is compatible in only two of those aspect, it's quite sure that they'll never have a lasting relationships; and if a couple is compatible in only one of those requirements they're called: for the first, for the second and in the last case.
Then why I'm now at a lost on what to do? It's not like I know her and that request will cost me an enormous amount of money, not only that; even if what I'm feeling right now is really the legendary love at first sight, she's asking me to kill her. No matter in which way I see it, to allow and help her to die is pure madness.
Shifting my eyes from hers, I finally recovered a little of my thinking ability in order to process what she meant in the second part of her sentence. Obviously in order to acquire this kind of muscular level, one should have undergone the worst kind of training I can think of, and even that would not grant you this kind of body.

What's more, this healing rate is way too unnatural, the only explanation that I can come up with is that we're looking at the result of human experiments, a lot of them and all successful in a single body; something that should be impossible if we follow the rule of probability.
Only now it hit me: -we're fucked- I said to my equipe -you all need to forget what happened here-.
Thinking to the limit of my brain capacity and knowledge (which is not limited to only my line of work) I started to formulate a plan: -Lizzy, I need you to go to the main power source of the hospital and shut it down, then disappear, today you were never here, I'll take responsibility-.
While Lizzy went to do her job I gave my next order: -Luke, while the main power source is down, you need to switch off the auxiliary power source of the server room, then disappear-.
After Luke went out I gave my last order: -Jessie, I need you to go to the server room and make sure to shut down the servers, they must be kept down for five minutes, if you can do it, all the documents, from today camera registrations to what happened till six months ago will be deleted, no one will be able to say who was here today-.
Then I looked to all of my remaining equipe: -I'm sure you all understand what's happening here, if someone were to discover that you even took a look at her body, your lives will be forfeited, so, get out of here and never ever talk about this, I'll stay here to see it to the end and take the fault-.
After everyone went out of the room I looked back at the girl who will probably be my downfall: -you know, if things were not the way they're now, I would probably fall in love with you-.

-It would be impossible, once you knew all the things I have done you would find me even worse than trash- answered back the girl. When she said so, her eyes were filled with shame and helplessness, to the point that I lost myself in them again.
I didn't expect this kind of answer, but I could tell that her eyes had seen everything the dark side of our world could offer, moreover her herself was part of it, though unwillingly, but even so I was attracted to her, like a moth attracted to a flame, I wanted to burn.
-I don't think so, if I understand myself well enough, if we had met before I would've supported you no matter what; it's quite ironic how I found the girl I would be willing to stay together forever and now that same girl asks me to kill her and not to save her- I chuckled.
Hearing the words I just said, the girl blushed enough to make it seems as if she was never under surgery and the copious amount of blood that she lost was a lie.
It was at this moment that the electricity went down, after a few seconds the auxiliary power supply started working, making everything seem as if nothing happened; only I knew that the first part of my plan (the only one that I could see directly) was accomplished.
However, there was still a question left without answer, and no matter how much I thought about it, it didn't make sense, so I asked: -you said that you suffered a lot for that body, and you did things that would make others look at you as if looking at garbage; but why did you do them, why not for example rebel or even kill yourself before coming here?-.
The girl looked at me in the eyes again, making so that I couldn't even think and answered: -they messed up with my brain, I can't disobey them, I can't kill myself, and when I'm not with them I must behave normally... the situation in which I save someone and get transported to the hospital is not contemplated, so I can do what i want... for now-.
A long silence descended between us until the girl talked again: -now do you understand why I need you to kill me? I have had enough of being used by them; I did terrible things under their orders. No more-.
I sighed and shook my head, I still had the possibility of hiding everything and hopefully I might be recruited by the group behind this girl, their knowledge, techniques and power are nothing to scoff at, they wouldn't reject the with hyperthymesia; it would be quite the promotion.
Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...
Looking again at the girl I started preparing the various equipment: -What is your name?-.
Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...
-Elise- answered the girl.
Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Ti...Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
-Hour of the death: ten and thirty seven AM-.
It was at this time, that I felt something break inside me.

The Ancient Tree's Journey
On a planet far away from Earth, an ancient tree lives inside a beautiful forest. When the tree realises that its life is coming to an end, it creates a seed without a soul. The seed begins a long journey, being passed from person to person, until it finally collides with the soul of a girl from Earth and sprouts. With her human knowledge, the girl tries to survive in this world... as a tree. Note: This is my first time writing a novel, so my writing style might be a little rough around the edges sometimes, especially the first twelve are still amateur style. I'll probably rewrite them at some point... later perhaps. Also, the MC will be introduced in chapter 13. The first twelve chapters are more of an introduction to the world, so they bear little significance to the main story. Still, I recommend reading it if you want to get a better view of the world. Chapter releases once every four days.
