《Sage Fall》Chapter Eight - Meladris | Valdiss [17+]

The sound of rustling cloth and moans resonated through the faintly lit bedroom. She stood in the corner of the room, subjected to these scenes and sounds, but she would not break, the moment she showed emotion in any way she would lose. The figures atop the canopied bed writhed and moved in pleasure and with the sole intent to gain more. The four bodies intertwined and joined together in any way they could to gain even a little more ecstasy.
The man being pleasured had the look of indifference, but his lower half was certainly being taken advantage of by the three female bodies. She cast her gaze just low enough to remove the scene from her view and could only make out faint details in the corner of her vision but ignored them. She learned to pretend to watch while focusing on the most minute and mundane item within the vicinity she was being forced to endure over the years.
“Lord Valdiss…I’m close…I’m so close!” the voice of the woman straddled atop the man moaned loudly. “Please…please!” she moaned as her body continued bouncing up and down atop him.
The other two figures were being tended to by his hands, and at the first’s request he finished them off, causing them to collapse from exhaustion and satisfaction after moaning loudly in pleasure. He lifted himself up and wrapped his hands, still wet from the first two women, around her back, grabbing onto her shoulder while he forced himself harder and faster. The sound of wet flesh slapping against wet flesh filled the room.
All the while she was moaning his eyes never left the figure of the one he wanted most in the corner of the room. His emotions were nonexistent, almost as if this act was merely a task that must be done. He took pleasure, but only very little, his true desire was her.
“You know the rules. Do not look away, do not cast your gaze anywhere other than here!” he directed to her while continuing to thrust. The one atop him was gasping for breath and moaning harder and faster until finally she let out a loud scream and collapsed backwards onto the top of the bed. He removed himself from her, left the bed and began walking towards the one that was forced to watch.
His fully naked body was very well defined, no signs to indicate a sedentary or feeble lifestyle. She took solace in the fact that the only light in the room was being provided by a lantern on a nightstand next to the bed, so the shadow was being cast along the front of his body. She kept eyes on him, but could not, and did not, want to see any of part of his manhood regardless, let alone after such a scene.
He raised his left arm and as if he was going to touch her, slammed his hand onto the wall behind her, bringing his face close. He breathed deeply to smell her scent and closed his eyes. If she was able to, she would have shuddered and quickly removed herself from this situation. But she was not able to.
“One day…you will be mine. And the pleasure I provide to the many women I’ve had many times simultaneously, will be devoted solely to you…all you must do is let. Me. Win.” He leaned in and whispered into her ear, the warmth of his breath made her shudder inside.

“Imagine it. The pleasure you would experience as I trace your body with my fingers. My tongue. Getting to know you more intimately than I would ever bother to do with these…pets. I’ve never had a Dark Elf before, nor anyone nearly as beautiful as yourself.”
His voice was smooth and enticing. His features were incredibly handsome, chiseled, perfectly symmetrical and eyes that almost glowed with a bright blue. His shoulder length blonde hair fell to either side of his face, with some strands stuck to his skin from the sweat of his prior engagement.
“After getting you ready to accept me I would gently press myself against your soft flesh and in a quick fluid motion….” She immediately tuned him out, all of her being screamed in overwhelming horror, disgust and utter abhorrence.
She looked directly into his eyes and did not blink, did not frown, smile, grimace or show any indication of emotion whatsoever. She vowed never to give him the satisfaction. Her eyes were clouded and looked as if they belonged to one that had already died, for she had, on the inside. Noticing this he frowned and hit the wall with his hand once more and quickly turned and walked away.
“Leave me! I’ve grown tired of you for tonight.” She bowed and began walking towards the door.
“Can you believe that bitch? How can someone like her get such attention from our lord?” one of the women sat up in the bed, not bothering to cover herself, her fully naked chest exposed. A second girl rested her chin on top of the first's shoulder, gently caressing her breast and giggled.
She opened the door, ignoring the snide remark and quickly left the room closing the door behind her. Once she was safely in the hall she rested against the door and leaned her head back and sighed a heavy breath of relief. She could already hear faint moans coming from the room and got sick to her stomach.
She shook her head of the mental image and walked down the dark hallway, only being visible due to the moonlight being cast through the large ornate windows of the castle she was a prisoner of. She had the freedom to go where she wanted, save for certain areas, and so long as it was within the confines of the castle, but a prisoner still. Every night, while the one calling himself Lord Valdiss was occupied with his carnal desires, she took the opportunity to visit the lowest part of the castle in secret.
She was positive that she kept it hidden from Valdiss, but she could never be sure, so she continued to utilize the utmost of caution while traversing the castle halls. She made it to an exit at the back of the castle, checking either side of the entry way to make sure it was clear, she darted across the large expanse of the open courtyard towards a small stone stairway surrounded by stone walls that came up to her waist.
“Illuminate.” she said gently while clutching a small stone in her hand.
The stone was nothing more than an ordinary rock she picked up from the ground. It was small enough and dense enough to provide a bare minimum of light while not making it too obvious to anyone patrolling the grounds. She walked cautiously down the steps with the glowing rock in her partially closed hand.

The sound of the wind blowing through the stairway gave the dark passage an eerie and otherworldly ambiance, with no help from the glowing stone. The stairs cut through the darkness down multiple stories until finally she reached the bottom. The long hallway was filled on either side with small, filthy and damp prison cells. The bars were covered in moss and rust, but were so thick they showed no signs of fragility to allow breaking. Grimacing at the sight, once more, as she always does when she visits, she makes her way to the 5th cell on the right. The sole occupant in this cold, dark hell.
She held up the rock and placed it on top of a horizontal bar of the cell door, the stone casting its dull white glow into the cell and the hallway. Her eyes fell upon a small mound of dirty brown cloth, it stirred. The mound was actually a person.
“You really should stop visiting me down here. It’s not fit for someone like you…” he began to cough violently, the rasping and mucus filled noise made it clear he had fluid in his lungs. It would not kill him, but it was certainly painful with each movement and each fit of coughing.
“You know I cannot leave my only friend alone all the time.” She said smiling. Although she felt pain in her heart as she did so.
The figure turned around after sitting up and finishing a coughing fit. There was a bandage wrapped around his head, when he turned to face her it was actually wrapped around his eyes. The cloth had two blackish red stains across the front from when the wound was healing. Every time she saw it, she couldn’t help but want to cry out and try to fix it, replace it or ease his pain. But the second she did, he would find out, and they would both be punished, and he would get what he wanted.
The figure in the cell sat on top of a straw mat, his legs bent out in front of him, making a circle. She couldn’t help but see the glint of purple embedded into his chest under the filthy rags of his shirt.
He rested his arms across his thighs and smiled at her. She had no idea how he was able to keep his spirits up after what he has been though. Most wouldn’t know, but this man was once a great and noble leader and beloved friend. He was Earthenborne, a Dwarf. Once a stocky and intimidating, albeit slightly on the short side, figure of a man, he was now reduced to little more than skin and bones, barely fed enough to keep him awake and moving.
“Well, I’m not one to stop you…goodness knows how many times I’ve tried and failed.” He scratched his thick beard. “And…well…I do appreciate the company every now and again. But I’m especially happy that you visited tonight.” He smiled wide, his yellow and brown teeth fully visible. The dirty, unkempt and matted beard and hair gave him the appearance of a mad man. But she knew better. He was wise beyond his years, and she was never one to ignore or dismiss something he had to say.
“Oh, and why is that, old timer?” she chuckled.
“I felt it.” He said gently, still smiling wide.
She tilted her head to the side and didn’t know what he was talking about.
“After all this time, after centuries of coming up empty handed….” He began to cackle, suppressing the coughs with all his might. His body shaking from the laughter and fight to keep the coughs at bay. “The stones spoke to me…!” the cackling continued.
“Calm yourself. Please, you’ll only make your condition worse!” she pleaded, reaching through the bars, trying to get a hold of him to steady him, but she was too far away. For between the bars and the floor he sat on was a wide bottomless chasm. It was there for two reasons, the first was to prevent those from escaping or attempting to do so, the other…was the release those that had finally given up. This broken, shell-of-his-former-self, figure had endured for centuries, eons even…and it appeared by all rights that he had finally lost his mind.
“Calm?! My dear…there is no way I can keep myself calm after this! I felt it! After so long…thinking that I would never be able to experience this kind of joy, happiness and sense of satisfaction…you want me to be calm!?” his voice was getting louder. She looked around with worry, she had never known him to lose himself like this.
“Shh! Please, you’ll alert the guards!” she pleaded.
“Let them come! For when they realize what I have discovered….they’ll wish they had never followed that ungrateful, worthless, spineless, cowardly and pathetic waste of space!” his anger began to overcome him, she was convinced…he had finally lost all his senses.
“Belgard, please! Don’t do this! Don’t leave me, please come to your senses.” She began to tear up, the sorrow that filled her voice would break anyone’s heart. She could lock away her emotions in the face of the one she detests and fight with all her being to never give him the satisfaction of seeing her weak. But witnessing the fall of the only person she had been able to call friend and family after all this time was too much.
“Meladris…he’s awoken! A pact has been formed once more!” his cackling erupted again, he raised his arms into the air and laughed at the top of his lungs. “The stones told me! He’s awake!!”
Her eyes shot wide open and she grasped the bars, and were they not made of thick iron, would have been crushed by her ferocity. A myriad of emotions coursed through the heart she had thought she had turned to ice. But after hearing what he had told her…it shattered in an instant. She fell to her knees and cried. The sound of her sobs and the cackle of a broken and beaten mad dwarf filled the dark, damp and empty prison.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.
