Looking at our status, we improved quite a lot in these 5 days.
I was also really surprised to find out that just by training we can acquire a little bit of EXP.
Well, the amount is miniscule in comparison to gaining EXP from killing.
But, well, at this point, I welcome anything that will make me stronger, no matter how small it is...
Another interesting thing to take a note of is that our stats also increased thanks to the training.
It's really reassuring to know that we can also level up and raise our stats with only just training.
Up until now, I thought that we can do that only by acquiring EXP by hunting.
And the most important thing is that our skills skyrocketed, more than I could ever imagine.
With this, our chance of survival should rise exponentially.
Also, while both me and Leafy gained only one new skill, it's [Dehydration Resistance].
This is the most important skill that both of us need right now, considering in what hellish environment we live right now.
Well, considering how little we are eating right now,
I won't be surprised if both of us acquire something like [Hunger Resistance] one of thise days.
Mmm, hmmmm...
Right now it may be hard Leafy, but please stay strong and soon in the future,
we will surely be able to live leisurely.
Weirdly, Leafy's name in his status changed to how I call him in my mind, for some reason...
Now that I think about it, I wonder how the naming even works in this world...
Ugh, naming is such a weird thing to exist in the world where even language still doesn't...
Also, what's with this [Instructor] title I acquired out of nowhere ?!
Is it because of my training with Leafy ?
How very mysterious and interesting...
Anyway, with all of this finally out of the way, without further ado,
let's start inspecting our skills !!!
[Skill check [Shell:Lv~]]
[-Skill name: [Shell]
-Skill type: Race specific
-Condition for acquiring: Natural growth of a shell-like exoskeleton
-Skill effect: Sturdiness of one's shell-like exoskeleton.
The percent of sturdiness increase each level by 5 %
(The exact percent varies from race to race)]
Ooooohoooo.....
Let's see, let's see what we have here...
.....
..........
...............
Sooo, how much is those 5% exactly ?
Without knowing that, for me, that's just some useless random number...
Haaaaaaa...
My skill doesn't even have a level,
so it looks like the shell of [World Isopoda] can't become more sturdier than it already is.
This is a little bit of a drawback for me...
Well, it's not much, but it is still very useful information.
Looking at what I have here, I can safely say that the skill [Shell] doesn't have anything to do with our [Defense],
that's why our stomach is our weakness...
Let's see Leafy's skill, I think his [Shell] skill is Lv5 ?
[Skill check [Shell:Lv5]]
.............Eh ?!
[[Status Check] isn't high enough to use [Skill Check] on other lifeforms]]
.............HA!?!
Well, that's a bummer...
I was really looking forward to inspecting his skills and than comparing them to mine, but oh well...
Well, not that it really matters that much, our skills are literally identical to one another
other than that [Photosynthesis] skill that is probably exclusive to [Nature Isopoda].
Now that I think about it, both red and blue pillbugs also had a few skills that looked like they may be race specific.
Shame I didn't have enough time to read what they were, considering the situation...
Not to mention, right after they died, all I could see with [Status Check] were their name, race, status and attribute.
It didn't show their stats, skills and titles...
Anyway, Leafy's [Photosynthesis] skill leveled up right after I stopped eating his leaves.
Thanks to that, he started eating less than usual, so we still have more food left than I predicted.
Good thing that I had enough self-control to stop eating them, but still...
Aaaahh, but they are just so delicious, even just thinking about their taste is making me drool...
.....cough, cough.....
Anyway, let's move on...
[Status Check [Scythes:Lv4]]
[-Skill name: [Scythes]
-Skill type: Race specific
-Condition for acquiring: Natural growth of scythe-like limb/limbs
-Skill effect: Sturdiness and sharpness of one's scythe-like limb/limbs.
The percent of sturdiness increase each level by 5 %
The percent of sharpness increase each level by 2 %
(The exact percent varies based on shape and size of one's scythe-like limb/limbs.)
After each level up, new information is provided that increase the effective usage of the skill.]
Whoah... Is the information so vague because my [Status Check] is still so low ?
Those percent's means nothing to me as they are, not without knowing the exact number...
Not to mention, I don't even know if those percent's will stack up after each level up
( so it will be like Lv1-5%, Lv2-10%, Lv3-15% and so on), or something like that...
This is completely unreliable information, no matter how you look at it...
Also, for acquiring this skill it says [Natural growth of scythe-like limb/limbs],
but both me and Leafy didn't acquire it until we used our scythes in battle.
This could mean that this information is untrue or...
There exist something like Lv0 skills and they aren't displayed in one's status until they level up and become Lv1...
If I think about this carefully, this could go either way at this point...
Aaaaaaaw dammit !!!
I won't go anywhere overthinking about it, so let's just move onto the next one.
This one gonna be interesting...
[Status Check [Status Check:Lv3]]
[-Skill name: [Status Check]
-Skill type: Unique
-Condition for acquiring: ???
-Skill effect: Ability to see and inspect one's and others [Status].
Other uses are unlocked after each level up.
(Overusing the skill coud be harmfull)]
Eh ? Eeeeh ? What is this ?! That's it ?!?!
WHY ?!
Now that I think carefully about this,
isn't this skill a little bit too much complicated for someone without any intelligence to use ?
It says that its a [Unique] skill, but doesn't this mean that it's exclusive to me ?!
Wait, wait, wait and calm down me... Think carefully about it...
The only one that have and could even use this skill is me at the moment.
As someone that died and reincarnated into this world with all of his memories intact, doesn't that mean... That ?
Isn't [Skill Check] my very own cheat-like skill ???
It wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that, but...
Eeeeeeh?!? Isn't that just a little bit too much barebone ?!
Well, at least it's something? I would probably be dead by now without it if I think carefully about it,
so shouldn't I be grateful to even have it ?
Grateful, huh ?
Grateful.....
Grateful to whom exactly ?! That mysterious voice or whatever ?!?!?!
Hah, I would rather die than be grateful to that thing...
That thing clearly has a ego and it deliberately fooled me into reincarnating into this shithole for whichever reason...
I won't be grateful just because I got one little convenient skill...
Oh, greedy little me, aren't I asking too much ?
OF COURSE I AM !!!
No matter how you look at it, I didn't deserve to be in this predicament,
fighting for survival with a bunch of stinging bugs !!!
It's like I being punished, yet I shouldn't be...
Hah, hah, haaaaah...
That... felt extremely refreshing...
It's been building up for a while now...
But still, it's just self satisfaction. My situation won't change no matter how much I bark around like a dog.
I know that, but it's still stressful... I'm trying not to think about it,
pretend to be fine and ignorantly go with the flow, but as the days go on, I'm starting to miss my home more and more...
Haaaaah....
Let's move on, before I become any more irritated...
Next are [Resistance] type skills...

Valor and Violence
Valor and Violence is a series of short stories following different, yet all equally colourful, characters set in the same world. Birth of a Legend, the first short, follows Captain Erskine Erwell, a newly promoted Captain in the Calandorian Royal Navy, charged with protecting his people from all who would do them harm. Great news for the Calandorian citizens, bad news for the Skjar reavers that ravage the shores in search of slaves. But when a small reaver fleet slips the net and escapes to the southern jungles of Marduk, Erwell must fight a war on two fronts; one against the raiders, and a far more difficult war against the hostile landscape. If he can't find allies in this strange land, he may end up being the one in need of saving. The first part of the second short story will be uploaded on Saturday, the 11th of June, following Ferez Ahud, an aspiring young battlemage charged with the unsavoury job of 'terminating' a rogue member of his college. But how this nobody of a mage became a fugitive remains a mystery, and when the answer is discovered, the tables are turned and the hunter becomes the prey. I'll be uploading chapters of more in-universe short stories each week or as close to, work permitting. Content Guidelines: course language and violence

Archaic Avalon
Set in a medieval fantasy setting. The story branches out, initially following Astor Jacobs on his journey throughout the newly established continent of Mayland. Growing up in the tragedy of war, Astor attempts to return to a normal life while discovering his true future. The purer concepts of magic are utilized by few with ancient knowledge scattered across the world. A world where hints of the ancient past is obscure and dispersed, but continues to be powerful and influential. With tribes of different magical races dispersed regionally across the globe. A story about rediscovery, culture, and the legacy left by past generations. [18+] A blend of Dark and light themes. Mature content will vary as close to realistically suitable for the time period. The first few chapters are heavily action orientated, but this is not the main focus.

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages
