《The Strongest Slime》Chapter 5 Day 40 : Roaring Slime Fist

Day 40
My head was buzzing as I woke up it felt very similar to a really bad hangover, however there was a strange pulsing I could feel throughout my entire body. I began to examine myself in the reflection of the nearby river and what I found truly surprised me.
Before last night I was about the size of a wild boar, but now I was at least three times larger, my size could now compare to some of the bears I had seen in the forest. My color had also changed from green to dark red. I also found the source of the strange pulsing, it was a strange crystal. The crystal was dark orange and was the size of an apple.
I tried experimenting with it and I discovered that although I couldn't take it out of my body, I could move it anywhere in my body. I was just about done looking at my reflection when I noticed something strange ‘that’s not possible is it?’ I moved my body as I stared at my reflection ‘it must be some sort of optical illusion’ I moved to a different part of the river and checked my reflection again ‘why me? Why me!?’
I finally worked up the courage to touch it and was definitely real. My eyes weren't playing tricks on me and I was not going crazy, there was a small tree growing out of the top of my head.
The leafs on the tree quivered as I wondered ‘what had I done wrong to be punished like this? Is it because I never recycled? Is it because I loved to drive high class sports cars instead of fuel efficient ones? Is karma trying to punish me for never having cared about nature?’
Then I remembered the message I had gotten before I had blacked out ‘Forced Evolution’. Could all of the changes that had occurred be a result of evolving? I checked my status
Name: Kyogo Level:1/100
Race:Royal Honey Slime
Strength:120 Speed:80 Stamina:100 Intelligence:1300
Just as I thought, my race has changed to something called a ‘Royal Honey Slime’ and it appears that my stats got a boost. I checked my skill list to check if anything had changed, and sure enough there were three new skills
Honey Fruit: Produces Honey Fruit. Honey Fruit is a high class fruit that can instantly cure fatigue
Royal Honey: Produces Royal Honey. Royal Honey is a high class ingredient that possesses strong healing properties
Cultivating Meditation: A skill used to strengthen the user through meditation. Through meditation it is possible to cultivate the body as well as the soul
One thing that caught my curiosity was the fact that my level had dropped to 1, it was 20 before I absorbed the Hive. The only possible explanation is that it dropped from my evolution. If so that must mean that 100 is the level required to evolve. ‘hahaha I truly am a genius’ just as I was basking in the glory of my greatness I heard a set of footsteps heading my way.

I tried to find a place to hide until I realized that it would be impossible. My giant frame was now 7 feet tall combined with the 3 foot tall tree on top of my head it would be very difficult to find a place to hide. The footsteps were getting closer and I was running out of time. Seeing as how there was no place for me to hide I was forced to make my own.
I dug a hole into the ground large enough bury my body but allowed the tree to stick out like a normal plant. ‘become the tree, be one with the tree’ I repeated that mantra in my head as I awaited the arrival of the enclosing footsteps.
Interestingly enough I could see through the perspective of the tree. What I saw was a little boy who was about ten years old. He appeared to be short for his age but was obviously very physically fit. His eyes were filled with panic as he constantly turned around to glance behind him, as though there was a terrifying presence looming over his shoulder.
The short, dark green hair on his head was drenched in sweat and appeared to have blotches of blood spread all over. The boy’s legs trembled as he ran and after a few more steps he finally collapsed.
Strange Boy: *panting* “huh huh, I think I lost it”
The boy tried to stand up but before he could straighten his legs he was hit with a dark cloud that knocked him back twenty feet, he landed right next to me. The cloud turned into a creature that closely resembled a chimpanzee except it had large bat wings on its back, looking at the data floating above its head it was a level 15 Luthunian. The Luthunian stood in front of the boy, just staring at him.
The boy slowly got back up and he charged at the Luthunian. The boy swung his fist with all the might he could muster but it was all in vain. The Luthunian casually dodged the boy’s fist even letting a few land as though he were toying with him. Finally the Luthunian seemed to grow tired of playing around and he slammed his foot into the boy’s chest knocking him back down.
Strange Boy: “there is no way I am going die like this!”
With a determined look on his face the boy jumped to his feet and what he did next surprised me. He grabbed the tree on top of my head and tried to use it as a weapon but he only succeeded in causing me pain.
“Ouch ouch ouch! Quit pulling!”
The Boy finally let go of the tree as he fell to the floor.
Strange Boy: “The trees alive!”

I popped out of the ground blasting dirt everywhere.
“How rude! I am not a tree!”
The Luthunian tried to take advantage of the confusion I had created, he revealed his razor sharp teeth as he lunged at the boy. I shot out a tentacle and caught the Luthunian before he could reach the boy, but before I could finish the job the Luthunian released a loud shriek.
Luthunian:”Yeeeeeeh!”
“Not good”
I quickly coiled my tentacle and crushed him but the damage had already been done. I could hear more creatures approaching, most likely that shriek was a distress signal and now because of my carelessness more enemies were on the way.
A group of dark clouds arrived and turned into Luthunians. They dispersed and began to surround me. Seeing this large group circle around me reminded me of the old Kung-Fu movies I enjoyed watching in my previous world. I couldn't help getting swept up in the mood
“Ha your numbers are useless in the face of my Roaring Slime Fist!”
That was enough to get them to begin their attack. I tried to create as many tentacles as I could in order to see if there were any changes, and indeed there were. I could now create and control up to ten tentacles.
I whipped my large tentacles around crushing any Luthunian stupid enough to try and block it. Many of them ended up dying upon contact as the force of my tentacles was enough to shatter bones even if they tried to defend.
After seeing so many of their comrades die so easily the smarter Luthunians that had dodged my last attack began to flee. Well, they tried to flee but of course I stopped them. I caught each of the fleeing Luthunians with my tentacles and immediately crushed them.
I was surprised by how quickly I had fought them. No, I can’t even say it was a fight. It was more like a one sided massacre. My stomach growled
“phew, slaughtering sure does work up an appetite”
I began tossing the Luthunian corpses into my body so that they could dissolve. To my amazement the bodies didn’t dissolve normally. After dissolving they would turn into particles of light and be absorbed by the crystal in my body. I was about to toss the last Luthunian corpse into my body when I heard a stomach growl behind me ‘oh yeah the boy’ I had almost forgotten about him. I turned around and held out the last Luthunian corpse as I offered it to the boy
“Want some?”
Strange Boy: “That’s okay, I’m not hung-"
He was interrupted by his own stomach.
“You sure? You seem pretty hungry to me”
I brought the body closer to his face and dangled it in front of him an attempt to entice him but his reaction was the complete opposite.
Strange Boy: “Bluuugh!” *cough cough* “Bluuugh!”
The boy turned his face away from the corpse and vomited. ‘That’s odd’ I thought to myself ‘these corpses are fresh so they shouldn't smell too bad’ I looked around for anything else the boy could eat. The boy’s face was dangerously pale and his body was obviously exhausted so a good meal would probably do him a lot of good.
I remembered about one of my new abilities and thought that now would be the best time to try it out. As I activated my Honey Fruit ability I could feel something growing on top of my head. The fruit finished growing in just a few seconds and it was about the size of a watermelon. Its body was clear dark red with a single black line going all the way around it. The fruits texture was very similar to the gummy candies that were popular back in my old home world.
After carefully inspecting the fruit I handed it to the boy. He was suspicious at first but after seeing that I was not trying to trick him he took the fruit. The boy thanked me and took a bite.
Strange Boy: *talking with a mouth full of food* “fwo dewitheth(so delicious)”
The boy gobbled up the entire fruit in just a few minutes. After making sure that the boy had filled his stomach and that he was alright I had turned around and was just about to go when the boy ran in front of me, dropped to his knees and bowed.
Strange Boy: “Master, please teach me the ways of the Roaring Slime Fist!”

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!
