《The Strongest Slime》Side Story: It is Good to be King

The carriage rode over a bump that woke me up from my nap, I immediately yelled to the driver
“Dammit! One more bump and you shall forfeit your head!”
He stammered from outside
Driver:“ye-yes sire.”
That fool, who is he to dare and disrupt my royal slumber. One more slip up and I will eradicate his family. I looked outside and just as I expected it was all forest with a village or two scattered about, not a single civilized development within sight. I have been cooped up in this carriage for over six hours, if it wasn't for the rumor of a Royal Hive having been spotted I would have never stepped foot into this retched land.
I felt the carriage come to a halt so I looked out the window, it wasn't just my carriage but the entire legion of accompanying soldiers had come to a halt. I pushed the carriage door open and jumped out yelling
“Why the hell have we stopped!”
I stared at the legion of soldiers until one of the captains stumbled his way to me,
Soldier 1:“Sir the-“
I bashed the side of his head with my royal scepter
“Guards execute this man!”.
As soon as the words left my mouth three of my personal guards stepped up, two held the soldier down while the last one beheaded him. I could hear some of the soldiers whispering among themselves but paid it no mind.
New soldier:*whisper*”what just happened?”
Veteran Soldier: *whisper*” I've heard of this happening before but I didn't believe it”
New Soldier::*whisper* “what?”
Veteran Soldier:*whisper* “apparently the king is really sensitive about his height, whenever addressing the king
you must kneel down in order to avoid looking down on him. Looking down on the king is punishable by death”

New Soldier:*whisper* “I thought it was funny that he was the size of a child, I never knew he was so cruel”
Veteran Soldier:*whisper* “you mustn't underestimate the king. I heard that powerful magic runs in the royal bloodline”
I looked at the crowd of soldiers and this time another soldier approached me but kneeled down before he began talking
Soldier 2:“ S-sir the soldiers ha-have been marching nonstop for over six hours”
I smashed my scepter into his face, as he fell to the floor I was pleased in seeing him lose a few teeth
“I know how long we have been travelling! I asked for the reason why we have stopped”
he rubbed his face as he struggled out some words
Soldier 2:“th-the soldiers are ti-tired”
I placed my right hand on his head and activated my ancestral magic. My hand released a black glow as I drained the
soldier’s life force. The soldier began to gasp and he began clawing at my hand in an attempt to pry it off as he began to shrivel up. His struggling ended as I picked up the empty husk of what was his body. I tossed the body right at the legion of soldiers and stared them right in their eyes
“Is anyone still tired?”
As soon as my cold voice rang out the soldiers prepared to march again.
After marching for another six hours we arrived to the supposed location of the Royal Hive. I had the soldiers search the area but all they could find were a startling number of Royal Bee corpses scattered across the forest floor, the Hive was nowhere in sight. I yelled loud enough for the entire legion to hear me
“Where is the navigator!?”
following my words, a young child no more than ten was pushed in front of me, he dropped to his knees bowing before me

“ Si-sir I am T-T-Tibbs the navigator”
I called for my assistant “Maricio!” right away a fat pig of a man with a shining bald head dropped to his knees in front of me
Maricio:“ yes sir?”
I smacked the top of his head with my scepter
“why the hell is our navigator a child who has yet to be weaned off of his mothers breast milk!?”
Maricio:!?” “Sir, Tibbs here is an orphan from a nearby village. He is the one who reported spotting the Royal Hive”
I smacked Maricio with my scepter again
“ You dragged me out here on the word of a child!?”
as I continued to beat him Maricio spoke
Maricio:“ But sir, you are the one who told us to alert you of any progress pertaining to the locating of a Royal Hive.”
'Oh yeah I did say that '
“Very well, continue the search”.
The legion of soldiers searched the forest late into the night until one of the men yelled out
“Demonic Beast!, Demonic Beast!. There is an incoming wave of Demonic Beast!”
the legion began preparing to retreat until they heard my voice boom throughout the area
“Hold your ground! No one leaves until we find the Royal Hive!”
Maricio ran to my feet
Maricio:“Sir we must retreat now. The waves of Demonic Beast are quickly approaching!”
my voice roared once again
“what the hell would you know. It takes three thousand years for a Royal Hive to develop but just one drop of its Royal Honey is enough to change the water in a lake into a high class healing elixir. If I could just find one Royal Hive it would be enough to sponsor hundreds of war campaigns”
just then a group of my elite personal guards came back with a man that they had chained up
Personal Guard:“Sire, we caught commander Triston attempting to flee”
Commander Triston:“Please Sire, my ten year old daughter lives in one of the nearby villages, allow me to guard the village”
he dropped to his knees and bowed to me
"Enough. To abandon your king is a crime punishable by death. Execute him!”
Maricio whispered to me
Maricio: *whisper* “Sir we cannot kill him here. Commander Triston is one of the best warriors in our kingdom, he is also a very well versed military strategist. To kill him would lower our soldiers morale and would show weakness to our army”
A demonic beast the size of two men standing on each other broke through the soldiers line of defense and had almost stroke Maricio with its razor sharp claws, it was only subdued with the combined effort of three of my elite guards
“Very well, Bring him back to the capital. It appears that we must retreat now”
Thus we made a hasty retreat as my personal guards dragged Commander Triston back to the capital.
