《The Strongest Slime》Chapter 2: Day 1 continued

*Yawn* I was pulled out of my wonderful dream involving a well endowed lifeguard and my pretend drowning when I felt something step on me. It didn't step on my foot or my hand, no those things were nowhere in sight. It had stepped on me entirely because I am currently a puddle of light green liquid.
I get it now I must have gotten hammered at Glutton’s place again, that guy sure loves to drink. This entire thing must be my sub conscience’s way of telling me to lay off the booze.
I must have dreamed everything from Glutton’s death to the train ride, oh well might as well enjoy a lucid dream like this. I say enjoy, but what can you do as a puddle? Just then I saw the creature that had been stepping on me just a few moments prior.
‘Hey you come here punk, think you can step on puddles without apologizing?! I guess your mother never taught you any better huh!’ At least that’s what I wanted to say but the only sound I could produce was something similar to a bubbling sound.
It might not have understood my words but I guess my bubbling was enough to attract it as it began to approach me. I didn’t notice it when it was a distance away but after it stepped right in front of me I noticed the bugs towering size.
The bug looked exactly like a Praying Mantis except it was brown; it also had the word ‘Mantis’ and the number ‘5’ floating above its head in red. Just as I was analyzing the mantis it swiped its blade downward.
I could easily see the attack but my body was so slow that I only moved after getting hit. After getting hit a few more times I became more accustomed to moving this new body and could now move more nimbly, well, as nimble as a puddle can be.
I was also now capable of raising the center of the puddle and stretching out to create something similar to a head. Of course there were no fine details such as a face but the outstretched portion of my puddle could be used as a weapon and that is exactly what I planned on doing.
The first attack I landed was a counter smack. I dodged the Mantis’s scythe by leaning to the right, just as the scythe passed by I slammed my newly acquired head into the Mantis’s side. I don’t know if I was able to inflict any damage but the impact was enough to push the Mantis a short distance.

This battle was like no other, the fierceness displayed by me and my opponent was of epic proportions. With fire in our eyes we traded blow after blow and through each strike it was as though we gained an understanding of each other, as warriors we were conversing through our fist instead of words.
As I landed the final strike that put the Mantis to the ground I felt a mixture of emotions. I was somewhat saddened by the fact that such an amazing battle had come to an end, but I was also deeply grateful to the Mantis. I bowed, or at least tried my best to bow as a puddle, and thanked the Mantis for the spectacular battle “ blub blub blub blub”(you were a mighty opponent).
As much as I enjoyed the battle it was not just for sheer entertainment, I had come to understand that this was no dream, because if it were a dream I wouldn’t have felt pain. There were also blue transparent screens floating in front of my face
New skills have been learned:Minor Shape shift, Warriors spirit, Taunt
Minor shape shift: Allows the user to slightly modify the shape of their body.
Warriors spirit: Through your appreciation of battle you have developed the spirit of a warrior. Slightly increases user’s defense and offense. Also allows the user and their opponent to understand each other through battle
Taunt: your bubbling is annoying enough to enrage others. When activated can entice others to attack
Most people would panic if they were to discover that they were in a new world with weird floating screens in front of their face. However, panicking over such trivial things would be beneath me so I did the only thing suitable for a proud and noble man such as myself, I remained calm.
Although I did scream at the top of my lungs “blub blub blub blub!”(what’s happening to me!?) while repeatedly slamming my head into the side of a tree, but that was just some light exercise to help myself relax definitely not a form of panicking.
After my quick workout routine I had decided to simply accept the fact that I was now a living puddle in a new world. Although I have come to terms with my current situation I now had another problem to face, those floating screens.
Were these screens real or were they simply a figment of my imagination? I would hate to discover that I was crazy on the first day of my new life.

As I was thinking about those pesky screens a sudden thought ran through my mind, what if these screens were a notification system meant to alert me of changes? If that’s the case… ‘Skills’ as soon as I recited that word in my head another window popped up showing a list of what I believed to be the skills I currently had.
Minor God’s meager blessing, Hyperion Constitution, Sense Danger, Slimes Metabolism, Oddmar’s Hexagonal Seal of the 12 Dimensions, Warriors spirit, Minor Shape shift, Taunt
“Blub blub blub!”(Hahaha) I knew it I am a genius, who else other than me could have figured out the complicated system of this bizarre world so quickly. Sometimes I still manage to surprise myself with my own brilliance “blub blub blub”(Hahaha).
I guess I should check what all these skills do, except for Warriors spirit and Minor Shape Shift I've already read about them and Taunt is pretty self explanatory.
Minor God’s meager blessing: You have been blessed by an almost powerless Goddess. Any food you consume tastes better and provides slightly better nutrition
Cursed Hyperion Constitution: A rare body condition that allows for abnormal growth. Although all your stats are capable of developing past the normal limits you will also suffer a 300% penalty to all experience points earned. This ability is currently weakened because it is being suppressed by a powerful seal
Sense Danger: You once possessed the ability to predict danger but after being suppressed by a powerful seal the most you can do is vaguely sense danger.
Slime’s Metabolism: Slimes become more powerful from digesting food
Oddmar’s Hexagonal Seal of the 12 Dimensions:A seal of unimaginable power it is said to have once been used to suppress 12 dimensions that tried to revolt against a powerful God. This seal is currently suppressing your abilities.
Hmm I wonder… ‘Status’ I once again as soon as I recited this word in my mind a screen popped up in front of me
Name: Kyogo, level: 1/100
Race: Tiny Slime
Strength: 5 Speed: 5 Stamina: 5 Intelligence: 1200
It looks like my mind is the only thing that hasn’t been affected by my transformation. Anyways, my biggest problem right now is probably this seal…. What the Hell! Isn’t it a little overkill? I mean seriously, a seal used to stop 12 dimensions from revolting?
Oh well, nothing I can do about it now might as well get something to eat.
The Seal seemed to be a long term problem that I would have to deal with eventually but at the moment I was very hungry so that took top priority. After carefully examining my surroundings I could clearly see some berries growing from a bush but I currently lack the dexterous fingers or even a mouth to grab them so they were off the menu.
Pretty much everything thing was out of my reach. Just as I was thinking that I would go to bed hungry I spotted it, why hadn’t I thought of it before? I walked over to the motionless corpse of the once mighty Mantis. I bowed once again “blub blub blub blub”(I thank you again mighty warrior).
I did not see any openings for which food should be inserted so I simply crawled over the Mantis’s remains and covered it entirely. The corpse began to dissolve within my body and I could feel my liquid form become denser. The liquid had also begun to change from watery to more of a honey-like consistency.
I could clearly sense an increase in power. Not only that, the Mantis actually tasted good. This must be the effects of the Goddess’s blessing, it is actually pretty convenient that I don’t have to readjust my taste buds to the flavor of raw insects.
After my lovely meal I crawled into a hallowed tree and decided to call it a day. Just before falling asleep I looked up into the sky to see the most beautiful scene I have seen in my entire life, a seemingly endless sky painted obsidian black sprayed with the brilliant glow of infinite stars. Just wait my new world, for I will outshine even the brightest of your celestial gems.
Author's Notes: sorry it took me a little longer to upload this, hope you all enjoy it. Anyone else watching NBA all-star weekend? I'm pumped up for the dunk contest.

I will also perhaps use it to explain his backstroy to further character progression if I can. The cover photo was also a picture I found on the internet and if you wish for credit or for me to take it down just say so and i'll do it as fast as possible. I also don't have a set schedule, and this is just being used to improve my grammar and just as a hobby, nothing more. I will also appreciate feedback in regards to grammar, style, and story in general as this is the first time I have created a story apart from at school, hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!
