《Path of Damnation》Chapter 33: The End of War?

Enough time had passed since we had taken the fortress.
An incredible victory is what it was.
Not a single life was loss and aside from the pride of the elves which had been shattered, nothing else was lost on that day.
The golden elf who had fainted signified the end of the siege and all of the elves surrendered.
They dropped their weapons and while trembling dropped to the ground and awaited their fate.
But like I had promised I didn't harm a single person within the fortress.
I even let one Elf return to the capital and other fortresses to warn them of what I had done and that I would do the same thing to them as well.
That aside I went into the fortress, opened its gates and then had one of the flag bearers come and bring down the Elven Flag in the fortress and prop up our flag.
Standing over the fortress, the flag of the legion swayed left and right in the casual breeze which flowed.
I smiled happily at the sight before turning back to the golden armored elf which stood near me.
He had an happy look on his face.
His name was Terri, a cute sounding name, just like he was.
Wait, maybe I was awakening to something.
Shaking my head I looked down at Terri who was looking over battlements before turning back to me.
Terri: “I still don't understand why you spared us, I wouldn't have done it” he stated casually in his sweet voice “I mean your forces out number us, are far more powerful than us and could easily have stormed the fortress with very minimal casualties yet you didn't” he was still confused even after this long.
I sighed as I looked down at the young elf.
Kaiser: “Because I dislike bloodshed, like I've told you the past dozen times you've asked me this question” I stated, which still surprised the elf who still had a hard time believing an orc disliked bloodshed. “That aside, its time our forces to move on” I stated in a matter of fact manner before I yelled from the battlements “GET READY TO MARCH” and with that my horde began to grumble and mumble as they went along with their task of preparing to march towards the remaining three Elven Fortresses and then onto the Capital.
Several dozen minutes passed as me and Terri stood on the battlement in silence as we stared down at my mobilising horde.
Terri: “Will you do the same thing you have done here to every other fortress as well?” he asked me curiously “Or was this a one time thing” I sighed as I heard him ask the same question again but I just ignored it.

He pouted slightly at that but he still seemed happy for some reason.
After my horde was ready to move out I began to walk down the battlements to the gate when Terri began to talk.
Terri: “Must you leave?” he asked me in his sweet voice with an adorable look upon his face to which I just turned around and jumped off the battlement while saying “I'll be back soon anyway” and with that I jumped down to join my horde which was nearly done preparing.
If I stood with him any longer I knew I was about to change and I didn't know if this change was good or bad, but for now, I'll ignore it.
Seeing me jump down from the battlement shocked Terri and the other elves on the battlement as well as scaring the shit out of the orcs who I landed near.
Ignoring the orcs frantic breathing I made my towards the front of the horde and began to order a march towards the second fortress.
My orcs sighed and began to move unhappily, but when I turned around to glare at the annoying group behind me they all looked cheerful and professional.
That's what I thought.
Smiling to myself we began our march yet not even 5 minutes later, before we had even walked a hundred metres we saw dust clouds rise over the horizon in the direction of the second fortress.
The atmosphere around us tensed and my horde began to leak blood lust as they were excited for combat but when they saw that there was only 13 riders in total they all began to moan and complain saying that I was going to have all the fun.
I ignored them and walked towards the riders who all wore golden red armor while the leading rider wore golden white armor.
I didn't really know what this signified but the Elves on the battlement had gazes of awe and shock so I assumed it must be someone powerful or high up in the Elven Ranking.
A general perhaps? Or maybe a councilman or a noble.
We'd find out in a moment anyway so it wasn't that big of a worry.
I waited for the Elves to near me and when they neared me they came to an halt.
A mere 5 metres between me and the lead rider.
The other elves emitted blood lust in my direction which didn't phase me at all but when my horde felt their blood lust, they in their released their own blood lust towards the elves which made them pale, yet the lead rider looked unaffected.

He stared down at me, a begrudging respect was shining in his eyes.
King Elvehad: “My name is Eldon Elvehad, King of Elvenkind and I take you are the conqueror here in the name of the 'Dark God'?” he asked me without an ounce of fear coming out of him.
I truly respected this man, the King of Elvenkind that came out to directly meet a unknown foe with little assurance that I would not just kill him.
Kaiser: “I am Kaiser, the Champion of my god who came here in his name to bring Elvenkind under his rule” when I said that the other elven riders all began to emit massive amounts of blood lust but I ignored it and let my horde and the elven riders exchange glares between one another. “I wish for no blood to be shed but I must have an assurance that Elvenkind is loyal to my god and for that reason I came to conquer your race” as I said that the kings face had a quizzical look.
King Elvehad: “You wish for no bloodshed but bring a conquering army, yet you also have conquered a fortress without spilling any blood” he paused as he said this “For an orc you are quite interesting, you know” he said that with a smile on his face “That aside, you wish for us to be loyal to your god, so does that mean you want us to stop worshipping Elvhera, our goddess?” he asked me with an ounce of hostility in his voice to which I simply smiled.
Kaiser: “My god has no qualms with the worship of others, he simply wants the guarantee that Elvenkind will not make us bother with a pointless war front so I came to make your kind submit with as little bloodshed as possible” and with that the king and all of the elves in the surrounding had astonished looks upon their face.
King Elvehad: “Your...” he paused as he tried to come up with words “Your god is okay with the worship of another within his realm?!” the king couldn't or didn't even bother to hide the surprise within his voice and neither did any of the other elves.
Kaiser: “Of course not, in fact I think he would like to come meet with your goddess soon after he defeats the Human Goddess” as I said that all the elves around me stiffened and then I realised why “No, no” I half shouted “When I said meet, I meant as in friendship, not to meet the same fate as the Human Goddess” and once I said that they all breathed a sigh of relief but the suspicious looks on their face remained.
King Elvehad: “But how can we sure you are telling the truth?” he asked me in an inquisitive tone to which I just smiled.
Kaiser: “Why would we let you live now if we were planning to kill you later on?” I asked him in return to which he pondered for a moment before laughing out loud.
King Elvehad: “So be it, I will submit Elvenkind to your god, I'm sure our goddess won't mind” as he said that the atmosphere around us settled but my horde seemed dissatisfied “I'm sure there are procedures to joining your god, how shall we go about them?” he asked me in a friendly manner.
Kaiser: “I'll come back with my god at a later date and you can swear to him then, till that time just swear as the King of Elvenkind to serve my god” once I said that he just tilted his head in a confused manner as if saying 'that was it?' to which I nodded.
He looked confused but he nodded.
King Elvehad: “I, King Eldon Elvehad swear that as the King of Elvenkind, I shall serve the God of Damnation” and once he said that I smiled and the tension that I had built over the past few days over deciding the fate of elvenkind had dissipated.
The Elves were truly lucky to have such a wise king who saw the futility in fighting a pointless battle.
I'm sure my god and their god will get along splendidly in the future.

He will tear open and stabilize a miniature Rift, essentially creating his very-own pocket realm in which even Addia’s gaze will no longer be able to reach him. Everything has been carefully planned out in advance, so there is no possibility of failure. You can maybe then imagine his bafflement, when instead of the nothingness of his successfully created pocket realm, Eulisses finds himself in a quite holy looking hall, amidst quite too-baffled looking fellows, in the centre of a gigantic summoning circle - allegedly, he cannot read the runes that make it up - and facing a young and quite fair maiden that stares at him quite wide-eyed.
