Chapter 5 – The shadow

That damn fish swallowing me after I’ve just escaped being swallowed, but thanks to my [Toxic Mucus] skill, and [Poison Alchemy] I easily made it spit me out of its mouth. I now only have 10MP left, my head feels a bit heavy, *so this was the feeling of having a mental fatigue huh.*

*ding* *ding*

*whoa that’s something new.* So the first leveled up was from the fish I guess, and that turtle was still a baby? It’s mother would be so big, I can’t imagine.

With the total of gaining 9 levels at the same time, I felt something warm inside my body as it gets lighter for me to move. *The feeling of power, it’s an amazing feeling, I might get addicted to it.*

“Better look for some place to rest.” I looked around and it wasn’t the familiar surrounding that I’m used to, it was still dark and the water was a bit shallow. I swim to the top of the water, and looked around. It noticed that I was only in a pond and not a late,*well sorry, it was so damn big for me.* the entire place has a gloomy atmosphere, most of the trees were already read and there was a thin mist all around as my eyes can see. *it’s like a place from a horror mov. .*

*ding*

It’s just normal to be scared, because I’m not accustomed to this world. Being in a strange place all by myself was truly a horrific experience, but thanks to my skill again [Fear Nullification], it helps me to even move a muscle. *sigh*

I swim back to the bottom of the pond; I think that I’m not prepared to venture on the lands. I’ll hunt some fish; no I’ll hunt the insect like scorpions to get some revenge. *yup let’s do that*

After resting, and hunting monsters in this pond. I finally got some revenge, and now they’re all scared of me. *I wonder if I’ll get something like a King of the Pond title hahaha that would be lame.* I think I’ve saw all the monsters in this pond, from insects, frogs and tadpoles, fishes, turtles, leeches, and many more weird insects. *sigh* With all of my efforts and a lot of resting, I manage to raised my level by 4 including the help of the [Bottom Feeder] skill, but at least they helped me learn a lot in combat. This is truly a hardcore game if you ask me; leveling is so hard for this level. *sigh* So leveling in a reality is this hard, or maybe their level was just lower than mine. Maybe leaving this place will be the best choice.*

I’ve grown strong from this past few 3, or 4 days maybe. I forgot to count the days *to be honest, I just don’t know.*, let’s leave it at that. Looking at my status makes me happy for some reason, I’ve now survive from being a baby tadpole, I was even happier that I can evolve into something else. It’s thanks to my Adaptability skill that I can do such a thing, but my evolution was related to thing I do and eat, like being a newt for the first place. Maybe it came from the first thing I ate, the snake like lizard thing? Maybe it was some kind of newt in this world, and the other leech like evolution was from me having the [Parasite] title. *So does this mean, I can evolve to something like a wolf if I ate wolf like monster? Or have wings if I ate monsters with wings? Or maybe become something similar to a Dragon? Whoa!! Thinking that could happen is amazing!! Then if I ate human? Will that makes me similar to a human? Or the best question is will I be a monster and do that?*

“I think I can’t do that, eating human is like throwing away the humanity within me, and I will never do that. It’s better off to be an ugly monster rather than eat human to become one or even close.”

After a lot of thinking, I came near the land, the air was not so fresh but I missed the feeling of breathing air. When I got near the land I imitated something like the first man to walk onto the moon, “Hooo!! The first tiny step for me to walk on land, ^^ another baby step for me on the land. . . .” This was a bit fun, why should I be depressed I’m a carefree guy – monster, I don’t have anything like revenge, it’s just be stringer and enjoy the little thing in life. ^^

After having fun on my first steps on land, I slowly ventured to the forest of dead trees.

*sha* *sha* *sha* *sha*

Moving from tree to tree and looking out for predators. There was nothing here, but just dead trees, rocks, dead bushes, rotting loges, and more dead trees. *being small will take me forever in this forest* Hey [Adaptability] I should be adapting right now; I need a larger body and longer legs maybe. Only the sound of silence replied, *sigh** I’m getting a bit lonely, for not seeing anything moving. Can I at least encounter like a snake, but please make it a small snake; I just want to be entertained.

Loud squeaking noises came from my back, as my [Threat Sentient] was giving me a warning. I quickly turned around and there, from the hole of a dead tree were three red pair of eyes, *haha tree wee three* they slowly come out of the hole and saw that it was a rat. No it’s a rat with two heads, one eye and one nose on each head, and a large mouth with black sharp teeth. *yup just one* *uuucckkk, your one ugly, no three ugly sons of a BITCH!!DAMN!! or is it six? Because of the heads?*

The ugly rat in the middle was the largest; their bodies were hairless and were colored black. And if you compared my size to them, they’re like 3 to 4 times my size. They all keep hissing on me like a snake, can’t even describe the noises they’re making *jeez*. *why does all the weak monsters should be rats, baby spider, slimes, rabbits? It got me thinking.*

[Danger! ! ! !]

Ahh shit, I dazed out for a while. One of the small ugly shitty rats attacked me and was trying to bite me, but thanks to my status I jumped out of the way by using my tail. *moving on land is much easier than in the water, because the water keeps restraining your movement. Hmmm water is a good training for the body. .*

[Danger! ! !]

Another one had come, and was easily dodge. It seems like the big ugly one was not even moving a muscle, was it like a boss ordering his goons to catch? Or it’s like a mother teaching her ugly son of a bitch rats to catch pray. *dodge* *why do I need to always talk, let’s just get serious.*

Keeping a good distance from the ugly rats, I created a ball of [Toxic Mucus] mixed with [Poison Alchemy – Newt’s Poison] on the tip of my tail, and waited for the ugly ass rat to attack. I let out a roar to intimidate them, *no it sounded more like a weak *sssshhhhaaa* and it somehow made the ugly rats giggle. I don’t know how to describe it, but I’m sure that they’re making fun of me. I quickly toss the mucus ball, and it only hit the foot of one rat.

The rat that was hit was not happy anymore, I throw another one but it missed. The rat didn’t even dodge, *I need some practice, I’m a noob!!* the ugly rat was about to attack me, but its leg somehow can’t move, and its face was saying that it was in pain. The second rat pounced at me, I was thinking that I’ll throw the mucus in its mouth, but it was fast and I didn’t know it will die instantly from my poison. I just dodge to the side, and quickly throw a mucus ball at it. Its back end got hit, and it was slowly getting red and a bit swollen.

It let out a loud scream of pain, *who’s laughing not bitch ass ugly rat?* I noticed that the first rat was running towards me, but it was slow as it cannot used the poisoned leg. *it was quite funny to be honest Hahaha*, I prepared a mucus ball, and when it got close, it showed its big mouth to be which I quickly gave a poison.

“You were hungry so I just gave you what you deserve.”

Only their scream killed the silence, it was like music to my ears. The first rat was now shaking and blood was coming out of its mouth, the second one can’t move the half of its body. I gave it another shot of my poison, and this time I hit it on its head.

[Warning !!!]

I looked to the side, and . . . .

*SMASH!!*

I was late, I forgot about the big one, I got hit at the side of my body and was propelled while rolling on the ground. My body was a little stiff, and I’ve received a lot of damage from it (HP: 98/151). When I looked at the big one, the end of its tail was like a rock, no it is a rock. *and it hurts really bad.* I quickly used [Body Regeneration] to heal my damaged body; I also covered my body with a thin mucus, and throw random mucus ball all around me.

The big ugly rat got confused but its anger towards me was increasing for every minutes as it hears cry of a dying comrade. My plan was to make a deadly mine with the mucus ball that has more potent poison, and . . .

The ugly big rat runs toward me while evading the mucus on the ground. I gathered my strength and quickly dodge, but my body still hurts from the damage that I took. It swings its tail again, and I was grazed by it, I expect that my poison will not work at its tail. So my plan was to spread the mucus that I randomly have thrown.

I run around like connect the dots ^^ and the mucus was the dots, it also helps me to slide on the ground while producing more poisonous mucus. The rat was more confused and start to chase me all around, it was getting desperate to kill me and didn’t noticed that it was stepping on my poison. But somehow, it was not affected like the other ugly rats. Its feet were just a bit red, and not even swollen, it must have a skill for resisting poison. With my first plan not working, I need to do another method, it was still chasing me around so I decided to flip to the air using my tail but it jumped and grabs my tail with its mouth. I felt an intense pain at the tail, but I grabbed it’s body with my claws.

*tud*

We felt to the ground, and I was on top of him. *UUGGGHHHHH!!* it was starting to grind my tail with its teeth, but I gave back the favor of injecting it with poison, while covering myself with mucus. With its mouth full of mucus, poison and my blood, I was expecting that it will die instantly, but it never did. I felt my tail being cut, the pain was unbearable *of course it is, a body part being cut off without anesthesia is a horrible feeling.* and my HP was reduced by 20 points.

“Fucking ugly rat I’m going to kill you. The king of the pond will never be killed by the likes of you!!” I scratch its body, but it suddenly roll around to shake me off, but I used [Bite] and such its blood. *I really don’t want to do this, I don’t want to drink a fucking dirty blood, but I can’t let my health go down to zero from taking damage.* it keeps on rolling and I’m taking more damage than I can recover, so I *fucking* inject a lot of poison before letting go, and use [Body Regeneration] for my wounds and my tail.

“You ugly mother fucking rat, just die already!!”

I need to think of a plan to finish this rat, I noticed that I was slowly getting weaker and weaker, but I don’t have much many left, all I can do now is to use the mucus on the ground and coat my claws with it.

Without I chose, I got impatience and was the first one to attack, its claws reach my body first, but I endured it and bite to anywhere I can sink my teeth at and it was the neck. I gave it all the slash I can give, but I was thrown away using its front feet like hands.

*tud* *tud*

It cried so loud and was having a hard time to walk, but it somehow got in front of me. I cannot move my body because of the damage I’ve taken from its last attack. Blood was now flowing out of my lower body, and it has a weird sticky feeling *hahaha why do I even think of other thing, I’m about to die here haha.* my consciousness was starting to fade away, as I saw its mouth closing towards my head. *ughhh your breath smells disgusting, fucking shit!!*.

Before my consciousness fades away, the rat’s image suddenly became a big long shadow. And everything was black.
