AN: Hello, your lazy author present you chapter 36 , enjoy!!
PR by Bboybrian.
Yes, I finally accepted to get a PR ... *mumbling in a corner* "Jeez, my grammar isn't THAT bad (T_T)..."
OK, trolling you earlier was bad, and I admit I did have a good laugh, but I won't do it again I promise, because your revenge kinda feel really scary...

The magic exam took around 3 hours and 20 min. During the last hour and 20 min, I had to endure the gazes of nearly 1000 people - boys, girls, men and women. It was intense for the first 30 min, but it calmed down afterwards. Still, many eyes often came back to me, and I was seriously regretting putting on that show. It would have been so much better if we could leave the room after the tests. When the testing was over and people started to leave, I could see some of the nobles looking at me with hawk eyes.
Among the nobles’ children, some looked at me with admiration, some with jealousy, and others with hate and contempt. Around 2 thirds of these people were males. Well, I was expecting to make enemies due to jealousy, and I did expect most of the hostile people to be guys. However, I also gained a bit of popularity with the commoners. There weren't many half-caecians half-dark elves in human lands, and even fewer in the academy, so once word got around about me, people would easily recognise me.
Before anyone could take me away for a chat, the lady who measured my magic ability came to me and guided me to another place. She introduced herself as Natasha Harwoon, one of the assistant teachers of the magic department, and took me to what looked to be a waiting room in the staff building. The staff building was a wide white tower, and the first building people would see upon entering the academy grounds. The inside was well decorated, and it was constructed with good quality materials, be it the stones of the floor and walls or the wood of the furniture. There were also paintings of people who I think were the previous headmasters of the academy.
After waiting for several minutes, she came back and took me to William Sunderset's office. The chief of the magic department was sitting behind a wooden desk. He had short and dense light brown hair with some grey at the temple; his eyes were light blue, and he had a pointy nose and a square jaw. His skin was pale, and while he was slightly plump, he also had some muscles, all in all around 175cm tall. Standing to the side of his desk was a female high elf, with white skin and long braided hair with a color between light gold and silver. She had a heart shaped face, silver eyes, a straight nose and a small mouth. She was tall, somewhere around 180cm.

William: «So you're here young one. If I'm not wrong, your name is Aenthar, right? »
Aenthar: «Yes sir. Nice to meet you both, » I said, while giving a small bow.
William: «Thank you for taking the time to talk with this old man. As I've already said earlier, I'm the head of the magic department of Lana Academy, William Sunderset. As for the lady here...»
Female high elf: «A pleasure to meet you Aenthar, my name is Elyhn Shara and I am the secretary of Lana Academy's headmaster, Marcus Basililey. »
William: «You must have realised by now that you're someone special. In all the history of Premean there have only been 13 cases of people having more than 6 affinities. The last one was a Yukhan archmage who died several hundred years ago. I noticed that you also have a very high magic ability, and that's not all. »
Elyhn Shara: «While the rest of the candidates were passing the magic test, Sir William sent someone to retrieve the papers of your written exam. It turns out that you attained a high score in both the grammar and comprehension tests, and perfect grades in mathematics. Although your grades for general knowledge weren't as high, they were still good. »
William: «To put it shortly, your grades are easily on par with those of a noble, if not higher. That's why I've been wondering about your family circumstances. Can you tell us a bit about it? »
Aenthar: «If you are wondering if I'm from noble birth, then I can tell you straight away that that is not the case. My mother is a hunter, but my father is an expert alchemist and the son of an average merchant. He received education in letters and numbers, and improved even more during his alchemy apprenticeship. I learned from him and improved on my own.»
Elyhn: «This is brilliant! You see, when a great student graduates from the academy, it raises our status and fame among the 4 academies of Zanistras. As such, students with lots of potential are offered a scholarship for their first year, and if they get great results the scholarship will be maintained for the following year; albeit with a few conditions. »
William: «And you are one of these students with great potential. You already have a good control over your mana, and you can even draw all seven elements that you have an affinity for. Having a student like you in our academy is a godsend. »
Elyhn: «You can already consider yourself a student of Lana Academy. The school fee for this year will be waived. If you applied for a room in the dormitories you will be allowed to have a noble's room free of charge. »

Aenthar: «Thank you very much; this is really great news for me. However, I have already made preparations for a lodgment for the year so I won't be living in the dormitories. But still, thank you very much! »
William: «By the way, is magic the only thing you intend to learn here? You have the body of a fighter; don't tell me that you are as promising in martial arts as you are in magic...»
Aenthar: «Hahahahaha!!... Sorry about that, but no, I'm not some genius fighter, although I consider myself not bad. I don't intend to take any martial arts courses this year though. I already know some basics spells for fire, wind, earth, body and holy elements, but it's not enough. I don't even know a single spell from the water and darkness elements.»
William: «It is already impressive enough that you can use spells from 5 different elements at your age, most people can't do the same before the age of 15 or 16!»
Aenthar: «You see, I'm a D rank adventurer and last year I almost died because my magic repertoire was too lacking to deal with the situation. I want to use this year to learn as many spells as possible from those 7 elements, then advance to compound magic.»
William: «Impressive. Listen young one, it's good to be motivated, and you definitely are very talented, but compound magic is not that easy. It is a lot harder than using magic from a single element.»
Aenthar: «I can already use healing magic. I learned it from the priest in my village. Thinking about it, it both saved me and put me in trouble...»
Elyhn: «You can already use healing magic??» She said with great surprise. «Healing magic is one of the hardest compound magic to learn and use!! However, from what you just said it seems like you're still lacking, so it will be best for you not to be hasty.»
Aenthar: «Well, at that time I had both open wounds and an illness. Not only that, I was in the Frontier, several days away from the nearest village, with no healers nearby. I healed my leg to be able to walk back, but my lack of energy allowed the illness to spread further... I learned that when you're both wounded and ill, it's better to deal with the illness first! Well, that would also depend on the injury and the illness...»
William: «I see. You didn't try to heal both types of damage, you are already well aware of the risks of healing too many damages at once. The young man isn't bad lady Elyhn!» He said with a slight smile.
Elyhn: «Certainly. You didn't do anything unreasonable and you know how to learn from your mistakes. That mentality is certainly appreciated, as there are always some students that get reckless. Talking about students, there is something else that would be required of you, but we will tell you more about it once the term starts in 5 days.»
William: «Well, I believe we have taken up enough of your time. We just wished to inform you of your status as an important scholarship student. We expect good achievements from you.»
Elyhn: «You must also keep in mind that, as a scholarship student, you can be considered a representative of Lana Academy. Your behavior both inside and outside of the academy must not bring shame to its name, and if your results remain good, it will be even more important next year.»
Aenthar: «I understand. I came here to learn, not to cause trouble, but some jealous people might try to create trouble for me, I did get more than a few hostile looks when I left the testing room. I can't make any promises, but I'll be careful.»
William: «That is good enough. We will not hold you much longer. We will see you in a week Aenthar, stay well.»
Elyhn: «Have a good week ahead, we will see you soon.»
Aenthar: «Thank you very much, and goodbye.»
Once I left the office, Natasha brought me back to the exit of the testing building. Once I met up with Kerrina and Muriem, we left. We reached the inn 30min before nightfall. Along the way, I told them about my little interview with William Sunderset, and they were really happy for me. The scholarship would help to save around 1 and a half gold coins that we can keep for later. They teased me a little more than usual that night, and I vowed to make them pay later - in the most pleasant way.

AN: I don't know if my dialog is good enough for the situation. If not, well... Too bad? Whatever...
The chapter after the next one will probably be hot... If not then it would be the following one!!
