******************************
Muriem has lived in Carduc all her life, which barely amounted to 13years. Her father was a caecian man and her mother was a thoreim. They were farmers, Muriem loved them deeply and was following in their footsteps, becoming a simple farmer herself. Life was simple, taking care of the fields, the animals and the little commodites her family possessed, having fun with her friends, talking about a few boys...
-------
It all ended that night. Their peacefull village was attacked by bandits right around bed time. By the time they noticed what was happenings, the bandits were too close. Along with her parents they tried to flee toward the village chief's house at the center of the village. There was a small shelter build there, hidden underground, big enough for 70 people. But it was too late, the bandits were already too close to their house.
They saw them leave, and chased them. She was too slow, and the bandits were catching up, 4 of them. Her father tried to slow them down, but he only got the attention of one of them. He was knocked down with a punch, and got his neck pierced by the dagger of the bandits. Muriem's heart froze at that sight. She didn't notice she had stopped moving, she didn't notice her mother pulling her, her gaze couldn't leave the lifeless body of her father.
Then her mother hit her, and told her to run, as the other bandits were closing in. Her mother was a thoreim, she knew a little how to fight, but she was unarmed. She told her daughter to run, and managed to stall the bandits for a bit. Muriem couldn't go far, she didn't want to leave her mother. She watched her with hope when she defeated one of the bandits and used his weapon to kill another. But the third one didn't miss her. In her last moments, her mother looked at her and told her to flee.
-------
Muriem was screaming, refusing to accept what had just happened. Her gaze fell on the man who killed her mother, and his accomplice next to him, and the weapon red with the bloods of her parents. Her fear took over, she tried to run away, but she had no longer any hope to flee, no energy to spare. She was praying for someone to save her, but there was nothing around aside from the screams of the other villagers and the murderers of her parents reaching for her, and dragging her away.
She didn't want to believe what was happening. She was caugh, they were taking her somewhere, laughing about how they were going to take care of her and punish her for what her mother did to their friends. She was struggling, screaming for help, but nobody came. They brough her in an empty house, one of them held her on the ground by the arms while the other completly ripped her clothes. She wanted to hide herself but she couldn't, she wanted to scream but no longer had the will to do so.

The man pulled down his pants, and she watched in horror as he revealed his fully erect penis. She was silently crying, she new what was going to come. She tried to keep her legs close but she had no strenght. The man was laughing, rubbing his filthy penis against her most private part, and when he was about to push it inside with an evil and lustfull grin, something happened to his side. He turned his head and a hatchet went halfway through his neck, he was sent flying to the side.
-------
The one who killed him was a young, handsome boy, tanned skin and slightly pointy ears, with black hair and silver eyes. Muriem was stunned by the scene. The man he had just killed didn't even hit the ground when he pointed his arm toward the man holding her. She felt a gust of wind, and heard the man who was holding her fall hard behind her. The boy quickly moved to him and killed him with magic.
She couldn't believe what just had transpired. Was it just a dream? Was she really saved? It felt completly surreal for her. She was brough back to reality when he came to her and gently gave her his clothes before turning around to give her some time. He was with a man, probably his father, she had never seen them before. She slowly started to get dressed starting with the pants, still in a kind of daze, but got anxious again when the man said more bandits were coming.
They talked a bit, then the boy dashed outside, followed by his father. She couldn't believe how fast they were, and from the sounds, the battle didn't last more than a few seconds. She waited a bit, then they came back and the boy said that now was their chance to flee. She remembered the last words of her mother, ''flee'', then nodded. She tried to stand up, but couldn't so the boy gently picked her in his arm and the 3 of them left.
-------
They ran away at a fast pace, but for how long, she didn't know. All she could do was look back toward the place she spent all her life, thinking about her parents, who died there for her, and thinking about the boy who was holding her, and who saved her from this hell. For the first time since the beginning of this tragedy she felt safe, she felt safe in his presence, in his embrace. When they stopped for the night, she refused to let go of him, and fell asleep due to mental exhaution.
When she woke up, she found herself in a place she didn't recognise and got scared, but the sight of the one who saved her next to her calmed her down. She could walk, but before she did anything the took her in his arm again, and togehter with his father they left. He was carrying her with great care, and that helped her calm down. She didn't want to think about her home, so she focused on him, his presence, his warmth.

-------
When they reached their village, he parted ways with his father and carried her all the way to their home. On the way, the other villagers looked really concerned about them, but a single phrase from the boy would convince them they were okay. She finally learned the name of her saviour, Aenthar. When they reached his home he gave her some water and a meal. She didn't feel like eating, but she couldn't ignore his gentle urging, so she ate the soup he made for them. It was good, it reminded her of her parents, and she couldn't help but cry.
He suddenly stood up and took her in her arms. At that time she couldn't hold her pain anymore and released it. She cried, and all this time he was there for her, reassuring her with his presence, and because she felt safe, she didn't hold back anything. After a while she fell asleep. Sometime during the night she woke up. She was in a bed. The moonlight was slightly illuminating the room, and she could see that the boy was still by her side.
She was happy he was there for her, and clung to him. He was the one who saved her and kept her safe, she didn't want to leave his side, then she fell asleep again. When she woke up, the boy was gone. She panicked for a bit, but forced herself to believe that everything was fine and that he would soon be there again. And he did come back. He introduced himself, and she did the same.
He took her downstair, leading her by the hand. He introduced her to his mother and left her in her care so she could wash herself. She was a little disapointed to leave him,, but it was fine because his mother was really gentle. She was introduced to the father and they had a silent meal. Afterward, they asked about her and her family. She answered them, and was once more reminded that she had lost everything.
She was once again crying when the boy firmly held her in his arms and told her she wouldn't be alone. She understood his words. He meant that he will keep her by his side, him, the one who saved her life, protected her, supported her, and now accepted her when she had nothing. She was very happy. So happy. And incredibly gratefull. She decided that she would do whatever she could to repay him, and remain by his side, where she was safe and cared for.
-------
She was happy, she had a new home, a new family, and she was with the one she respected and admired above all. She was introduced to some of his friends, the lady named Namir was gentle and had a soothing aura, the lycan girl left a stronger impression on her by how direct she was. The others were a little distant, but not her, and she liked that. She was glad someone like her would be around her.
She was slowly getting used to her new life. She was surprised by what she discovered about her benefactor. He was younger than her even though he didn't look like it, and he was very skilled. He was already a disciple alchemist, and more surprising, a magic user with affinity to 7 elements. He was also a decent hunter, and was currently learning blacksmithing and how to fight and was on his way toward the third rank of mastery for each of them.
Even with that he took the time to teach her the words and the numbers, leather working, and even how to defend herself. When she felt lonely during the night, she would go to his side and he would always welcome her and warp his arm around her. He would sometimes braid her hair and tell her she was beautifull, he even made a pretty necklace for her for the new year. She was joyfull.
Being with him made her heart race, she longed for his presence, his touch and his embrace. It often made her weird between her legs, and she would secretly touch herself while thinking about him. She wanted to give herself to him. His constant kindness and care for her, and the noticable efforts he put toward improving his abilities, made her admiration, devotion, love and desire for him grow stronger.

The Perks of Immortality
This story will no longer be updated. After living decades and dying hundreds of times, Kegan has learned that he has finally passed some test that the cruel spirit had given him. Now, Kegan has the ability to gain “perks” that can make his life much easier. He is looking forward to finally having an easy life with the new perks he has earned. Rules to keep me honest for the perk system: Spoiler: Spoiler 1. The purpose of perks is to help the MC live longer and do new things each life. 2. The perks can be unlocked by getting hurt or killed. 3. The perks can be unlocked by putting in a lot of effort that isn’t easily duplicated in a new life. 4. Perks are generally beneficial enhancements to the MC’s body. 5. Perk costs can be lowered with more impressive achievements to unlock them. 6. Perk costs can be lowered by repeated death or injury from something the perk protects against. 7. Perk costs are increased for quality of life improvements that don’t benefit survival. I want to avoid one of the pitfalls I see for other LitRPG stories where the game elements barely relate to the story, or offer very little information. If people are skipping over and not reading the perks then I'm doing things wrong. So I promise to try and make the perks interesting, sometimes humorous, informative, and relevant to the story.Cover art by http://dertypaws.com/
