Dante was next to me. Each time I talked to him it was more like talking to another person… I’m sure he is smarter than G right now.

‘As you asked~ I checked the guys that attacked you and Hope~, I found them~, the one that got shot is in a bed~ and the other guy seems to be his brother~ but wasn’t there~. They are in the same group as the guy in the warehouse~’.

‘Was there someone taking care of him? Did you see his brother?’

I didn’t really care that much about it, but it was unusual that his brother who was so worried about his brother wasn’t with him, unless there was someone else taking care of him.

‘No~, he was alone and looked uncomfortable~, the brother was elsewhere~. Apparently, this group attacked another group for some reason~, the shots and the smoke seen from time to time was because of that~’

‘They are battling?’

‘Yes~’

To be honest, I could understand the reasons for fighting, I wouldn’t risk the lives of any of my partners, but if I’m running low on supplies, it’s something bound to happen.

The main problem was that this group already knew about my group… and more importantly, they knew a little about my power.

‘How much do you think the battle is going to last?’

‘It’s weird because they are in a stalemate~, but the bosses haven’t moved yet from what I saw~’

After the bosses of those 2 groups join the fight, they were going to be powerful enough to change the course of the battle. Not knowing how the situation would change was dangerous, especially if Jamie’s group wins because we can be next.

[Ding]

Thanks to Dante I confirmed that the person behind the attack was Jamie if it was intended or just a coincidence there was no way to be sure, but a part of the mission was completed, now I needed to find out about his plans as soon as possible.

At least tonight seems to be safe, and even if it weren’t there is no way to move G from here.

In either case, I kept watch for a while, but the only thing I heard was a battle happening and smoke about 1km to the north.

I fall sleep late that night again in my bed.

Hope and Rose shared my parent’s room and Hayley was in Hope’s room.

G was like a log in the couch.

It took me a while to wake up, even if my Endurance was higher than before the lack of sleep was starting to show. I decided to send Dante to gather more information. He wanted to sleep all day and said that I was overworking him, it took 15 minutes of begging, a bribe of 3 tuna cans, and a promise of more naps in the future to convince him. It seems like it was a good bargain, if we are going to move soon, we can’t carry all that tuna anyway.

I’ll let him nap when he comes back.

I went out again to train, the wound was already healed, and I decided to take off the bandages. The recovery was too fast, I didn’t know if it was because of the system, a change in my body after the meteor shower or my improved endurance.

I decided to warm up earlier.

Jamie’s group attacking others was troublesome.

I need to become stronger, but my progress was slow, thanks to the system my potential was bigger than most of the people, but I need time to grow, training was good in the long run and I’m going to keep doing it, but doing missions was by far the most efficient way right now.

I have 4 missions currently active.

The training was already ongoing, but it would take a couple of days to complete it.

Killing a person is the easiest and fastest way to get some points, and sooner or later I’m going to do it, but just going around looking for some random person to become stronger didn’t felt right.

Getting and ability to D rank seems impossible… unless I find a way to evolve my current ones fast or I get one by chance from an achievement I don’t see myself doing this one soon.

So that leaves me with understanding Jamie’s plan, half the quest was completed, also the system said that there were 2 main reasons for giving missions since I don’t think that finding out about him was going to make my life better, it has to do with our survival.

Then his plans involved us or this area in some way.

He already knew about my power probably and that would make attacking our group more attractive to him, while they are in a war with that group they aren’t going to attack us so we are relatively safe right now.

About 15 minutes later G came since he noticed that the wound was healed… in the sparring, he was relentless in his attacks.

[Ding]

[Congrats, thanks to the continued training Str, Agi and End went up by 1 point].

Obviously, the result was because of me trying to dodge, and the attacks I had to resist.

At the end of the training, each of the muscles of my body hurt like hell, but seeing results in just 3 days was a good reward.

After the training, I cleaned myself as usual. And after a short nap, I made a little reunion to tell them about Dante’s discoveries.

We made a priority list. First, we are going to move away from here, so we are not making the bathroom anymore, G is going to focus on more portable projects.

We need to find a way to move with Hayley, and finally, we are going to investigate more about hope’s and rose’s powers.

We haven’t tested Hope power yet, and Rose power could have a changed a little from what could do before.

G went to work outside, and Rose went to help him. I needed Hope as a guinea pig to test the effects of Hayley’s aura.

‘Knock knock’

“Come in”

I went in alone first, to explain to her what I already talked with the others, how we may have to move out soon, and finding a way for her to move with us was one of the priorities. After that, we started our experiments.

“Can you cover yourself with a blanket? Even your head”

“Ok”

After a hearing the ok, I opened the door.

“How are you feeling?”

“I’m not sure… I felt goosebumps like if a chilly wind came to me but besides that nothing else”.

“Try to resist for a while”

“Hayley, take a look from under the blanket”. The moment she moved the blanket Hope gave a jump scare and I noticed that the cold aura was leaking.

“Try suppressing the aura a little”

I was completely focused on Hope, scaring and using my sister as a lab rat to test Hayley’s power felt awful, but G was affected too much to use him.

I have confirmed that the “intimidation aura” and the “cold aura” were both parts of the same power. I was deep in thought while seeing Hope reactions to different levels of coldness.

“Wait for a little”

I left the room, leaving the girls dumbfounded.

Hope escaped from the room with me and left the room for Hayley to relax a little.

“Can you explain what you are doing??”

“You will understand soon” I went to our parent’s room and after a couple of minutes I came back and entered the room again.

“Hayley, put these clothes on and come out”

I threw her a bunch of clothes.

“So bossy” I could hear saying, but I ignored her.

“I think I figured out how at least you can go around the house without scaring Hope and G to death”.

I left the room again and waited outside the room with Hope.

After fifteen minutes, she came out… she was wearing even a pair of gloves, goggles and a skullcap.

Hope gave a jump scare

“The hair inside the jacket, wear the hood, and where is the ski mask?”

She seemed annoyed because of me giving her order, but she came back into the room to put the things I told her anyway.

“Aren’t those mom’s winter clothes?” Hope asked

“Yes”. I had an idea.

“Yes, to be exactly those are thermal clothes, usually the idea of them it’s for you to not feel the cold, but in this case, we are preventing the cold to leak from her”

“Oh”

Hayley came out again and there was not a single part of her that could be seen.

“It’s difficult to breath” Hayley clearly didn’t like the solution.

“Sorry, for now, we are just experimenting, if we are able to create something like a space suit it’s probably going to be more comfortable. I want to try this with G, Let’s go to the backyard, Hayley can you suppress your aura a little?”
