《Ascension: Rise of the Crimson Wizard》Second Year Part 5

Kaiser was waiting in the bathroom for Harry and Ron, and potentially a certain useless professor. He was calming his emotions and going over his plan. If things go south, he'd have to fight a bloody basilik. That snake is no joking matter.
A few minutes of waiting, and a worried redhead pointing a broken wand at said professor, accompanied with Harry Potter. They were shocked at his presence.
"What are you doing here?" Harry asked, though not aggressively. He was just surprised to see him of all the people.
"Same as you." he answered. "By the why, why are you pointing your wand at a Professor? More importantly, why is he about to wet his pants?"
"The coward was trying to run away and leave my sister to die!" Ron spat angrily.
"Fair enough then." Kaiser shrugged.
Moaning Myrtle chose that moment to make an appearance. They chatted for a bit, she told them how she died, pointing at the lavatory. They approached it, before Kaiser said: "This might be the entrance to the Chamber. Perfectly hidden somewhere no one would suspect, with snake patterns all over. Yup, this is the one."
"How do we open it? I don't suppose you know some magical way to open this thing?" Harry asked.
"Well, I don't. But you do. You know how Salazar Slytherin is a parseltongue, and you are one as well?" Kaiser hinted, and Harry's eyes lit up in understanding. He looked at the lavatory, before saying "Open!"
"Um… that was english. Try closing your eyes and imagining a serpent." Kaiser advised, and Harry did so, before they heard a hiss coming from his mouth, flowing by clicking sounds. The lavatory transformed into the entrance to a tunnel going downwards.
"Excellent work, Harry. Well, it seems that my presence is no longer needed." Said Lockhart trying to run away, before he was blocked by Harry and Ron.
"You first." they both said.
"I don't think that's necessary." he answered fearfully.
"Better you than us." Ron answered, before Lockhart entered the tunnel, screaming (like a little girl).
"Argh!"
"You dead yet?" screamed Kaiser to the tunnel.
"No! I'm still alive! Come help me!"
"Well, looks like we're good to go." Kaiser told them.
Ron was the first to go in, followed by Harry. Then Kaiser jumped in. When he neared the ground, he cast a silent 'Arresto Momento' to stop himself, and regain his bearing, and he was glad he did so, as the sight of Lockhart pointed Ron's wand at him greeted him. It appears that when he fell, he lost it, and Lockhart picked it up. Kaiser hid his behind his back, waiting to see Lockhart make a fool of himself.
"The adventure ends here, boys. But don't fret, the world will know our story. How it was too late to save the girl, and how you two tragically lost your minds at the sight of her mangled body. So, you first, Mr. Potter. Say good bye to your memories. Obliviate!"
Using a broken wand to cast a potentially catastrophic spell was not his most brilliant idea, as the spell backfired on himself, throwing him towards the wall. Kaiser reacted instantly, casting another 'Arresto Momentum' on him, before he dropped to the ground. He followed it by a stunner and a body bind curse.
"How did you survive a year with that wand, Weasley?" Kaiser asked Ron. They were acquaintances at most, as Kaiser didn't like him very much. And Ron shared the sentiment.

"Luck?" Ron suggested.
"That's an absurd amount of luck. Anyway, we should move forward. I suggest you guard that idiot, lest he comes back to bites us in the arse later. Harry and I will proceed to look for your sister." Kaiser told him.
"I should be looking for my sister! I won't be guarding him! You do it." Ron challenged.
"Are you some kind of idiot? You are useless without a wand, ('even with one, you'd still be useless' Kaiser added to himself), while mine is in perfectly working condition. We would have better chances to save your sister this way." Kaiser reasoned.
"He's right, Ron. Please listen to him." Harry begged his best friend.
"Fine." After some convincing, Ron agreed to stay there.
Kaiser pointed at a big rock, and said: "If he wakes up, hit him on the head with that.", before proceeding forward through the tunnels, until they reached an enormous door. He looked at Harry, and pointed at the door. Harry hissed again, and the door opened.
A huge illuminated room greeted their eyes: The Chamber of Secrets. It was flanked with towering pillars that were entwined with carved wood, and the statue of Salazar Slytherin, where the Basilisk resided within its mouth, at the far end. Fortunately, its mouth was closed.
They slowly approached the end, before Harry noticed Ginny's body, lying on the floor. He wanted to rush in, but Kaiser's hand managed to stop him: "We are not alone in here. There is someone else." Harry nodded. They carefully approached her.
"Ginny! Wake up!" Harry frantically trying to wake the girl, before a voice interrupted him.
"She won't wake." a tall handsome boy, looking no more than 17, in Slytherin clothing, approaching them from the side of the room.
"Tom! What do you mean she won't wake? She's not..."
"She's still alive. Only just."
"Are you a ghost?"
"A memory, preserved in a dairy for fifty years."
"You have to help us, Tom!"
"It won't come until it's called."
"Listen! We've got to go, we've got to save her."
"I'm afraid I can't help her Harry. You see, as poor Ginny grows weaker, I grow stronger. I'm nourishing on her life-force." Kaiser raised an eye-brow at Tom's stupid slip of tongue.
"Yes Harry, it was Ginny who opened the chamber of secrets."
"No! She couldn't! She wouldn't!"
"It was Ginny who set the basilisk on the mud-bloods, on Filtch's cat. Ginny who wrote the threatening messages on the walls."
"Why?"
"Because I told her to. You see, I can be very persuasive. Not that she knew what she was doing. She was… shall we say in a kind of trance? Bla bla bla bla"
"… So I decided to show you my memory of that brainless oaf Hagrid, to gain your trust… Only Dumbledore seemed to think he was innocent."
"I bet Dumbledore saw right through you." Harry taunted.
"He suddenly kept an annoyingly close watch on me after that….. Voldemort is my past, present, and future." Tom wrote his full name with Ginny's wand, before rearranging the letters to; "I am Lord Voldemort." But then, he was interrupted by Kaiser's voice.
"So, YOU'RE the arsehole because of whom the headmaster won't get off my arse?" Kaiser said angrily.
"Excuse me?"
"You're an idiot. You set a precedent! Now, the headmaster thinks anyone with potential is going dark!" Harry looked at him with a shocked expression.

"How would you even know the headmaster's is 'on your arse'?"
"Well, a disillusioned Professor Snape, waiting suspiciously where a few Slytherins prepared an ambush was a dead giveaway. Seriously, he should work a bit more on his disillusionment charm." Kaiser turned to his right before continuing: "No offense, Professor. I happen to be more observant than most."
"Who are you talking to? There is no one here but us." Tom asked, wondering what was wrong with him.
"You wouldn't get it." Kaiser waved his hand dismissively. "So, why did you change your name from Tom Mavolo Riddle to Voldemort?"
"Surely, you didn't think I was going to keep my filthy muggle father's name. No, I fa-" Tom Riddle continued, only to be interrupted by Kaiser again.
"So, you have daddy issues. Big deal. I'm more interested in this little Diary of yours. You made this when you were what, seventeen?" Kaiser asked levitating the diary towards himself.
"Yes. That was my greatest achievement! That's something you can only hope to reach, but you'll never be able to!" Tom Riddle said proudly.
"Well, if I understand memories correctly, I don't think that's how they work. You are sentient, that's different." Kaiser said, while Tom had a smug expression on his face. "And, if my detection charm is any indication, you appear to have broken several taboos of magic, Tommy boy."
"How dare you call me that. I am the greatest Sorcerer who ever lived! I won't have rules made by lesser men shackle me." Tom asked threateningly, but Kaiser ignored him.
"Really? What an idiot." Kaiser shook his head.
"If I were you, I'd be more concerned about whether or not I was going to leave this place alive." Tom threatened again.
"Tell me, Tommy boy, if I were to destroy this Diary of yours, you'd cease to exist, correct?" Kaiser asked, uninterested in hearing whatever he was saying.
After a typical evil laugh, Tom answered: "You can try. It's indestructible."
"I'll take your word for it. So, I'd like to know something. You seem to use the blood purity agenda, but what you truly seek is your own supremacy, don't you? Aren't you afraid, at some point, your followers would turn against you?" Kaiser asked tentatively.
"My followers are all bound by oaths to serve me. Trust is overrated." Tom said derisively.
"You know what Tom, I don't give you enough credit. That was the wisest thing you said to date." Kaiser praised, and Tom looked smug. It appears he still had the mentality of a seventeen year old.
"So, anyone that has the dark mark swore oaths, right? The dark mark was ingenious, by the way. I'm a big fan." Kaiser praised him again.
"Of course. Only my loyal servants would receive the dark mark." He said smugly, before he frowned. "Well, it appears you lived long enough, it's time for you to d-"
"You know, Tommy boy, you must be more careful what you say next time." Kaiser demeanor changed. He had a cold expression, accentuated by his glowing crimson hair and eyes. "Slips of tongue can be deadly some times."
"What do you mean?" Tom asked angrily.
"You see, the term life-force is only used with term soul. And I know a sure-fire way to deal with souls. A spell your older counter-part seem very fond of, who also cost him his life when he attacked my friend Harry here. It appears it shall be your demise again." He looked him dead in the eyes, and an expression of dread crept toward Tom's face. He wanted to call out for the basilisk, but Kaiser acted faster.
"AVADA KEDAVRA!" a dark green beam shot out of Kaiser's wand and hit the diary.
"NOOOOOOO!" Tom's image screamed before it disintegrated to nothingness.
"What an idiot." Kaiser said, before he calmed himself. This is the hardest spell he had to execute so far. It required an insane amount of hate and killing intent to pull off. He had to resort to his previous life's memory, and relive his worst moments, to cast it correctly.
"W-w-what was that?" Harry asked gobsmacked. He did not expect this. He thought he'd have to heroically fight a basilisk, but it appeared that wasn't going to happen any time soon.
"Killing Curse. One of the three unforgivable curses. You may wanna keep this part to yourself, or only tell the headmaster about it. As a thirteen years old, I am not supposed to know how to cast it." Kaiser explained.
"Harry?" Ginny awakened at this moment, and her expression soon turned frantic. "Harry! I didn't want to open the Chamber! Tom made me do it!"
Harry then proceeded to calm her, explain to her the situation, and tell her that no one blamed her for it. After she calmed down, she looked at Kaiser: "Thank you for saving my life."
"Oh. I did no such thing. Harry and Ron heroically entered the Chamber of Secret, fought the evil monster, and saved Ginny Weasley from the clutches of the evil Diary." Kaiser said to her.
"That's not true at all! You did most of the work! Hell, I was just a spectator the whole time!" Harry protested.
"Harry. What do you think will happen to me, when word reaches the Death Eaters, that I have foiled their master's plans?" Kaiser explained seriously. "I live at an orphanage, unprotected, and completely defenseless. I'd be dead the moment I set foot there. Besides, there is nothing for me to gain from this. Just take credit for all of it, and keep me out. You survived 13 years after his demise, so I'm guessing you must be well protected." Kaiser froze after saying this. He remembered a very important detail. Tom said that anyone that had taken the Dark Mark has sworn an oath. Does that mean Snape took one as well? If he did, then he was in danger. He'd have to resort to extreme measures. Another part that didn't make sense: If Malfoy took the Mark, then how could he defect in the original books?
"What about the Basilisk?" Harry suddenly remembered.
"What about it?" Kaiser asked. "You must be kicked in the head if you think we're gonna fight a freaking basilisk. Besides, why would I want to fight the protector of the school?"
"Protector of the school?" Harry asked with a puzzled expression.
"Yes. You shouldn't believe everything you hear. The basilisk was never meant to 'purge' the school. Otherwise, why would it only petrify? How hard it is for a freaking basilisk to kill a defenseless student? All it has to do is a tiny bite. There is no cure for its venom." Kaiser explained.
When they reached the place where they left Ron, he was beyond happy to see his little sister breathing. He must have been worried dead, if the bear hug he gave her was any indication. Then Harry explained to him how they shouldn't say a word about Kaiser's presence, to anyone, and the official story only includes the two of them, and Ron happily agreed, though Kaiser made sure he understood how serious this is. A few threatening words might have been used, but he appeared to be very grateful he saved his sister from the evil Lord Voldemort.
"How are we supposed to leave this place anyway?" Ron asked.
"Well, I really doubt Salazar Slytherin jumped into a tunnel every time he wanted to enter his Chamber of Secrets, maybe there are stairs somewhere or something. Maybe you should call for them in parseltongue?" Kaiser suggested.
Harry tried, and clicking sounds were heard again, before stairs leading upwards appeared. They all felt silly at not having thought of it before. Kaiser levitated the frozen Lockhart and followed after them.
"Close the entrance, if you don't mind." he dropped the useless professor in the wet bathroom, and parted ways with them. He needed to act fast. He was running through the empty corridors, towards the Ravenclaw Tower. He took a detour in the tower to his room, before he reached his destination. He knocked on the professor's door.
"Come in."
Kaiser was greeting by a frowning Professor Flitwick. "What are you doing here, Mr. Lunar. You should be packing."
"Long story short, Ginny Weasley was saved, she's being escorted to Professor McGonagall's office. The monster situation has been dealt with. I was involved in the rescue." Kaiser waited for the professor to digest his words before continuing. "The headmaster will probably give you more details later, if you insist. But that's not why I came here. While we were on our adventure, I learned information that I believe will place my life in immediate danger. I need your help, Professor."
After getting over his initial shock, the professor regained his bearing and took a serious expression. He knew this was not some kind of joke. "Alright, what can I do?"
"Call for Amelia Bones, head of the DMLE. She already knows of me, and she would appreciate the information I'm about to give to her. It would be great if you conveniently forgot to mention my presence in this visit of hers to the headmaster."
"And why wouldn't you want the headmaster to know about the head of the DMLE visiting the school?" Professor Flitwick frowned. The first part, he understood. The second, not so much.
"Ask the headmaster to show you the full memory of our adventure. I suspect he'll take it from Harry. If he refuses, I can give you mine. When you see said memory, you'll understand why it's really not in anyone's interest for the headmaster to know." Kaiser did his best to explain. This was a big gamble. It greatly depended on whether or not Flitwick believed him, and he really hoped he did.
After pondering deeply on the issue, Flitwick replied: "Alright. Wait here." Though he'd decide if he trusts him after seeing their so called adventure. He'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Besides, he knew Amelia Bones. He wouldn't have involved her if it was anything questionable. He took a handful of Floo powder, entered the fireplace, and called after throwing the powder into the fire. "Ministry, Department of Magical Law Enforcement."
He came back ten minutes later, with Amelia Bones. She didn't have an Auror escort this time. Professor Flitwick lent them his office to have a private conversation, before making his exit.
"Let me guess. He is involved in this Chamber fiasco?" She cut straight to the chase.
"Indeed." Kaiser nodded. "Though, this time, I had the misfortune of being involved." He took out the prepared memory vial.
"I want you to know that I'm placing a lot of trust on you, by handing you this vial. This is unlike the previous one. My life will be in immediate danger if the content gets out. So, I hope you won't share with anyone else. I only trust you." Kaiser said solemnly. The truth is: he didn't trust her either. But the odds were in his favor by doing this, and if it turned out he was correct, he'd gain a valuable ally in the war to come. He was gambling, but he had fail-safes. His life wouldn't be in danger, as he claimed it would. Even if content of it got out, it wouldn't pose that much of a problem. But, on the possibility that Amelia proved to be a trustworthy person… The pros outweighed the cons by a large margin if he was correct.
Amelia nodded. She understood the gravity of the situation. She didn't treat him as a kid, he seemed more mature than that. She also didn't take his word for it the previous time. She checked his story with Hermione Granger, and it turns out he was saying the truth. Her memories were intact, she called in an expert who owed her a favor.
After Kaiser gave her the general idea, and she asked a few questions, it was time for the main issue: "I heard some disturbing rumors, Madam Bones. I merely wish for a confirmation. Did Professor Snape take the Dark Mark?"

Watch her unravel the mysteries of her new world's magic, gods and fallen civilizations, change the world around her and search the multiverse for her beloved. Hey there! It's my first novel, so any feedback and criticism are welcome. Decided to write this story to get it off my head. What to expect here: World-building (at least I will try to do my best to flesh out the magic system, the multiverse, the ancient civilizations etc. I don't really know about politics though), Many character backstories, amateur writing, yuri, OP protagonist, ruthless/borderline evil protagonist. What not to expect: Harem, RPG system, regular releases. I'll try to finish the story to the end but can't really promise anything. Chapters will be released when I have the time to write them which I don't have much of.
