《Beast God》Chapter 17

Ben spent the next five days in the cave practicing his elements, leaving the cave only to find food and water.
*Crackle crackle*
Small lightning bolts danced across Ben’s fist as he punched a 3 Horned Lizard. The lightning had a stun affect and also left the skin charred where it connected.
Grabbing the lizard corpse, Ben start back towards his cave. He was frustrated with the little progress he made over the last five days.
‘Hear I thought I’d be throwing lightning bolts at people but I can barely create enough lightning on my hand to shock these goddamn lizards.’
His lightning element allowed to stunned his opponents for a brief second. His darkness element was a little more tricky. It had a corrosive property to his that is extremely useful against enemies with tough skin or armour but it would also corrode Ben’s skin if wasn't fully focused.
This had happened twice, leaving Ben’s right hand with no skin. Luckily he was able to heal himself quickly by absorbing natural energy.
From there on, Ben didn't let his concentration slip when dealing with the darkness element.
Since Ben didn't fight barehanded, he tried to inject his elements into his weapons. This ended up a failure, either his elements weren’t strong enough or he didn't have enough control.
‘Whatever. I’ll continue to train while traveling, let’s leave tomorrow.’ he decided, dragging the 3 Horned Lizard.
Starting a fire, Ben skinned the lizard and spit roasted it.
*Sizzle Sizzle*
Fat dripped off the meat, making Ben start to drool. Even without spices and salt, it tasted delicious. With Ben’s large appetite, he ate two of these lizards a day.
They were easy to hunt and they were everywhere.
Ripping off a leg, Ben began to devour the lizard. A couple minutes later there was nothing left but some bones. Patting his stomach, Ben proceeded to practice his element manipulation.

Ben’s eyes shined different colours, the left emitted bright blue sparks while his right eye had dense black fog.
Turning the palms of his hands upward, blue lightning appeared in his left hand while black mist appeared in his right.
This was Bennett’s maximum control at his present level. The lightning danced between his fingers while the darkness started to swirl in his palm.
Ben put more power into it.
The lightning bolts grew larger, as they started to shoot in every directions from his hand while the black fog became thinker and covered his entire hand.
Beads of sweat appeared on Ben’s brow. He was pushing himself past what he knew his limits in order to have a breakthrough.
Feeling that he was losing control, Ben gritted his teeth and continued to pour more power into his hands.
The lightning bolts got bigger and more out of control, striking the cave walls leaving scorch marks. The black fog become denser and darker, it fell to the floor corroding rocks into dust.
Finally unable to bear it, Ben retracted his elemental energy. Ben fell backwards, taking long and ragged breaths. His hands were in terrible condition, one was burnt and covered in blisters while the other seemed to missing a layer of skin.
Ben activated his Inherited Skill and slowly absorbed the natural energy around him. Ben felt his hands itch as they started to heal and his body recover some of its energy.
After a couple minutes, Ben sat up and checked his progression.
[Darkness Seed- 10%]
[Lightning Seed- 12%]
His darkness element had some pretty significant increases but his lightning had only increase by 2%.
Letting out a sigh, Ben walked to the mouth of the cave and looked at sky. Civilization might have gone to shit but the night sky was magnificent compared to before.
Millions of stars covered the night sky, making Ben in awe of their beauty. The moon also seemed to shine a little brighter but maybe he was just imagining it.

A small bird interrupted Ben’s star gazing , it landed on a rock close to him and gave a small chirp.
Ben had been trying to use his Beast Telepathy skill recently, but it seemed the beast he met weren’t smart enough to talk. The only one it kind of worked on was that king lizard and all he said was ‘ KILL KILL KILL’.
“Hello.” Ben spoke to the bird in hopes of it working. The bird looked at him before blinking and flying away.
Letting out a low sigh, “Figures.”
…
The little bird stopped a little ways from where Ben was and started to shapeshift into a giant man, Tuk.
Tuk quietly watched Ben as he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
He had been watching the boy for almost a week now and was becoming more and more impressed with this child.
He wasn't a leveling freak that only cared about increasing his level, in fact Ben’s level was considered average compared to the rest of Earth.
‘Indra’s brat is already level 36.’
Though leveling was important, mastering your skills are the core of your strength.
Tuk was happy that Ben was focusing on his elements, if he was able to reach the peak of seed level, his power could fight against people with higher levels than him.
Tuk was also surprised at his elements, lightning and darkness. These two were usually opposite of each other and the fact that Ben had both was a but surprising.
Though having two elements wasn't exactly rare, it was still uncommon.
Tuk decided to watch him for a couple more days.
Tuk gave a sly smile before a piece of paper appeared in front of him.
‘I should give him a little hint, right?’
…
Waking up, Ben’s hands still felt a little itchy from healing yesterday but other than that, he felt refreshed.
Walking out of the cave, Ben stopped dead in his tracks. I normal piece of paper was resting on the rock where that bird landed last night.
On the paper it read, ‘Try absorbing natural energy while practicing your elements.’.
Ben looked around, trying to search for whoever left this note.
‘It’s futile. Only Green knows about my Inherited Ability so it was probably her. But why doesn't she tell me in person? Is she just trying to screw with me?’
Putting his questions aside, Ben continued to walk towards the small stream he found days earlier.
Ben hesitated taking off his close because now he thought Green was spying on him.
‘Sadistic and now perverted.’
Though he was feeling a bit shy he still decided to take all his clothes off and clean himself off in the stream.
Wading into the stream, the water hardly reached his waist. Washing himself, Ben was still vigilant as he wanted to catch that perverted woman.
“Don't let her escape!”
Ben turned around and saw 3 men chasing a woman. These men looked similar to the ones at the base.
The woman was covered in dirt and filth. Her dress was torn in multiple places, exposing some of her body.
They were still over 200m away but they were running in Ben’s direction.
Jumping out of the stream, Ben got dressed and unsheathed his swords.
The woman was still running towards Ben but when she saw him her face filled with despair.
She thought he was part of the people chasing her and now she was doomed.
Not paying attention, she tripped over a rock and fell to the ground hard.
Ben didn't notice her expression, as he was too busy staring at her ears.
They were long and pointed!
