《Beast God》Chapter 15

A man stood in front of Bennett with a smile on his face. He was over 2m tall with bronze skin and golden hair. What shocked Ben was that his eyes were the same golden colour as his.
The man looked Bennett up and down before he nodded with a approving smile.
“No wonder Tuk gave you my eyes, you have potential. Beast Warrior class with the Inherited Skill- Nature’s Gift.” he said, taking a step towards Ben.
Ben instinctively took a step back, trying to maintain the distance between them.
‘This man doesn't seem hostile but I can't sense him at all. Even my eyes can't see through him.’ Ben kept his guard up. He compared this man to Green, he was unable to see through either of them.
The man’s smile grew bigger, “Of course you can't see through me and you’re right. I mean you no harm. In fact I only want to help you.”
“Now why would a stranger want to help me?” Ben asked as he took another step back. His back hit the cave wall and he wasn't able to back up another further.
The man had an amused expression on his face, “Stranger? How can we be strangers? I’m part of you. Literally.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Ben’s voice was starting to rise. This man was talking bullshit.
‘Part of me? How the hell is he part of me?’
“Come on Ben, you're smart. Figure it out.” the man looked at him expectedly. Seeing that Ben just continued to stare at him he let out a long sign, “Your eyes Ben. They use to be my eyes.”
Ben looked as though someone had hit on the head with a bat.
“Y-you're eye?” reaching up and touching his face.
“Yes my eyes. Don't worry I am already dead. What you are talking to is just a sliver of my soul I left attached to my eyes before I died.” the man seemed to be trying to calm Ben down.
Ben looked at the man in absolute shock.

‘How many more bombs did this bastard plan to drop!’
“Okay okay okay. Time out.” Ben raised his hand, telling him to stop. “So these Mekata Eyes are yours. But you're dead. I’m talking to a dead person whose eyes I've stolen. Just when this new world was starting to make sense. Great.”
Ben was trying to get his mind straight. Since this new world came, Ben had been talking everything in stride. It was simple to him, kill and become stronger. Become stronger to find parents. Zombies? He had seen tons of movies about them. Monsters? It was like being in a fantasy game.
But talking to a dead guy that eyes you were now your eyes? Seemed to be his breaking point.
“Right except for one thing. You didn't steal my eyes. I gave them to you.” the golden man seemed to enjoying Ben’s slight mental breakdown.
“Gave them to me?”
“Yes, well not directly. I gave them to a close friend of mine to give to someone he deemed worthy, he picked you. I must give kudos to old Tuk, you are a great choice. You even have the lightning element as your innate element.” The man once again nodded his head towards Ben in approval.
Taking a deep breath Ben steadied himself.
“Can you tell me from the beginning so I understand it better.”
The man's mood seemed to become serious as he gave a solemn nod.
“I was born on the planet Mekka, home to the Mekata race. The Mekata race had always boasted about it’s ocular power, and for good reason. Our eyes were a gift from our god that we worshipped. The powers our eyes had varied greatly but were almost always powerful. They let us be almost unmatched throughout the universe. I wasn't born so lucky. My eyes didn't have any power, no mind control to teleporting, nothing. My family was embarrassed of me and I was shunned by my race and family.” pausing the man seemed to be lost in his memories.
“I left my planet and searched for a way to activate my eyes power. For years, I fought battles and entered forbidden places, nearly losing my life more times than I can count. Though my eyes powers still weren’t activated, I still become a powerful fighter. I found an ancient scroll in a forbidden temple that mentioned how dragon blood can activate any hidden potential in a body.”

Looking straight at Ben the man continued, “One thing you must know is that the Dragon race is extremely powerful and they don't take kindly to people killing their kin for their bodies. The entire race has been known to chase down anyone who kills their kind. Even with knowing this, I still decided to kill a dragon.”
Ben was shocked at the balls this guy had. Dragons were all mighty beings that looked down on mortals and could kill them if they breathed too hard.
‘Definitely crazy.’ Ben concluded.
Giving a slight smile, “Maybe Ben, but fortune favours the bold.”
‘He can read my thoughts?!’
Ignoring Ben the man continued, “My luck was pretty good as I found a young lightning dragon on a uninhabited planet. He seemed to be searching for rare minerals to help his evolution in the future. Seeing this chance I attacked. Even though this dragon was young, it was still a formidable opponent. The battle lasted almost an entire day before I was finally able to kill it. But before I could celebrate, a dark dragon came. Things looked bleak for me but I still fought. With a stroke of luck I was able to kill the dark dragon but I was critically injured. Grabbing both the dark dragon and lightning dragons corpses I started to drink their blood essence. The pain that I felt is impossible to describe, you thought your element awakening was painful? Couldn't even be compared to one another.”
Ben gave an involuntary shudder, the pain his elemental awakening caused him had him on the brink of collapse.
“But luckily I survived through it and my eyes finally awakened. As you know, each eye controls an element, lightning for left and darkness for right. Control is the wrong word. We are able to become lightning and darkness, our bodies become the embodiment of these elements. Complete control. But that is only the beginning. The dragon blood affected my body and I gained both dragons bloodlines. These allowed me to have an extremely tough body and transform myself into a dragon. Though it took me years and years to perfect this ability, it allowed me to stand at the peak of the universe.”
The man’s face shone with pride, his name was once known by everyone. He was feared and respected.
“Of course the Dragon race was mad and demanded my head, there was little they could do because of my strength. I returned to my planet, welcomed with open arms and praises. Of course it didn't last. The four highest ranking elders on our planet were jealous at my strength and that jealousy corrupted their minds, turning them against their own people. The contacted 4 races; Arch Demon, Dragon, Phoenix and the Human Alliance. As long as they agreed to hand over a precious bloodline of their respected race, the elders were going to poison our god and let them invade our planets.”
Even though the golden man was just a sliver of a soul, Ben could feel his boiling anger towards these elders.
“By poisoning our god, our eyes powers wouldn't work. Our people were slaughtered like sheep. They killed them and took their eyes hoping to acquire our bloodline. Seeing this my people slashed their own eyes, ruining them so the bastards wouldn’t desecrate their bloodline. Seeing my race had no hope, I slaughtered my way out. Killing thousands of those bastards. I escaped to my friend, Tuk, who in which I gave my eyes to before killing myself.”
With the story ending, the man stared into space. Anger, sadness, grief all flashed across his face.
He then looked at Ben, “You have acquired my eyes, with these eyes you have a responsibility.”

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

You Are The Gods.
You read the title right, YOU are a God within this story. In fact, every single reader of the story is a God. Many stories like to take the path that there are Gods that watch over the characters of the story, helping them or hurting them as the characters progress. What if, the readers of this story are the Gods that are watching the Main Characters? What if the readers could accrue points by reading that they could spend to help the main character, hurt the main character, or to even create new characters, dungeons, and scenarios? That is what I aim to create! I am trying to get the community involved in creating a reality that the readers themselves can directly influence! If you have any interest in this at all, I implore you to read the intro chapter called 'The Tutorial' and join everyone else on many interesting stories on Planet Earth and what it is to become! Volume 1 is where you can find how the system works, and the various things within the system! Volume 2 is the actual story and invasions itself. Volume 3 is where you can find previous polls and the such. Volume 3 is so we can all look back at the decisions made. Quick note. I am not the best writer, and will try my best to create the best quality story. There might be some grammar errors, or I might write in a simpler way compared to other authors because I do not have much time, nor can I write ahead either! If you wish to give me advice on the system as the story goes on, then I will gladly accept it. Lastly, just have fun with the story as I try to do something completely new!
