《Cleric or Necromancy?》volume 1 chapter 11

Special thanks to MeeBoo for Proof reading my work
Since I failed to possess Ivo and learned a different skill, I decided to try again. I had nothing to lose as Soft Cotton could always just return me to my body. I drifted out of my nose again, but this time tried to keep myself in one spot. After a while, I felt myself stabilize and then tried to move in the direction of Ivo. After what felt like a minute, I touched something and entered it.
My eyes opened and I saw Lola sleeping on a young toddler. The toddler had his eyes closed. His hair was pitch black in colour and so was his eyebrows. His skin was incredibly white, like dead person white. If I had not known that was my body I would have assumed I was dead. Weird, I wonder what colour my eyes are? Probably blue. It's going to suck if I ever get sunburned... wait a minute, I'll just rip my skin off and my ability will do the rest! Plus I'll level up my skill 'Immune to death'! Sounds like a plan! A very painful one though... Anything for Lola! Sunburn, here I come! Anyways I have spent enough time in this body. Time to return. I then exit the body of Ivo, stabilize, and float back to my own. Upon re-entry.
Ding* You have gained the ability possess
Ding* you have gained the skill Dark magician
I felt incredibly sluggish again and passed out right after finding out my new skill and ability. When I woke up, I was back home and in my crib. Seeing as how I didn't want to be a shit disturber, I asked Soft Cotton to spot for me. I then practiced Spirit sense until dawn, which was around 3 hours from when I started. I managed to get it all the way to level nine. I only really needed Soft Cotton to spot for the first hour, as after that I learned how to pull myself back together. This boosted my total mana up to a full 950. Considering I had started with 500, I had almost doubled my mana capacity. But at the same time I hadn't really specialized in one type of magic. Meaning that later on, getting more mana would simply be a lot harder to do. It also seemed that my stamina regeneration rate has hit its max. Which was honestly a bit of a buzz-kill. It would seem that from now on I would simply have to try and use my stamina to its max efficiency. My leadership also hadn't grown. But considering that I doubt I would ever lead an army, simply due to the fact that I was basically a healer and didn't know if it was legal to practice dark magic, I would keep it that way. When my brother walked into the room I had just finished training my Spirit sense. Spirit sense didn't actually use mana so this was quite a nice skill. He picked me up and brought me to his room. When we got there, he had paper and a weird pen-like objects. There wasn't ink or anything and I hadn't paid attention to the writing utensil he had been using earlier. The writing utensils were red in colour on the outside but the lead was white, which really didn't fit the colour of the writing, which was black.

“Okay Gilbert. These are mana pencils. You can write with them by simply using your mana as ink. Although it's a lot more expensive then ink pens, you'll never have to buy ink and you can erase your writing by using the mana absorber on the back of the pen.”
“Okay”
“I am going to write out some words”
He then proceeded to write out what appeared to be Chinese characters to my eyes.
“Do you recognize this little brother?”
“Nope, not at all. Can you tell me what each word is?”
“Sure”
As he told me what each word was in the spoken language of this world, I matched it to the equivalent word in English. He kept teaching me until breakfast. When Mother called, my brother went to pick me up.
“No, I can walk. Let me”
“Didn't know you could walk, sorry”
We then went to the kitchen with me following my oldest brother. When we walked in my mother asked my brother.
“Where is Gilbert?”
“Behind me”
She then looks behind my brother and sees me walking perfectly fine. Her eyes teared up and she started wailing
“I didn't get to see him take his first step!”
“You saw the other two take their first steps, its not a big deal” (Dad)
They kept arguing until breakfast was over. My brother helped me get up into my chair, as it was still too high for me to climb up, even when standing. Breakfast for today was egg, ham and bread with sauce. I then left after eating the applesauce. Why? Because mom wouldn't let me have any of the good stuff. We walked over to the neighbours and I spent the time helping Lola learn to speak and tiring out Ivo so he would leave us alone. When I finished teaching Lola, who seemed to be slowly learning, I got some notifications
Ding* You have gained 20 stamina
Ding* you have gained the skill Teacher

After this, I got home and my brother kept teaching me how to read and write the language of this country. After the lesson I got another notification.
Ding* you have gained the skill Multilingual
I then had supper. I just discovered that us, commoners, only had two meals a day. I discovered this when mom took us home after Mrs. Norman started talking about lunch, but I never seemed hungry. I went to bed early, but not before checking my stats.

Though it's a standard novel with Reincarnation and Cultivation 'The Inheritor' is not a HAREM and it'll have Romance. The action might take the back seat in the first part of the book. About the Author This is my first novel or any attempt to write something so I'm pretty much a newbie trying to pen down the fantasies rolling in my mind. English isn't my First language so brace yourself for some grammatic potholes. But I'm genuinely working on improving my English but it won't be happening overnight as it's a process, I guess. (for the time being, I'm trying to make it readable with some Grammar checking software) Moreover, I wish to improve my writing skills as the story grows and readers help in spotting mistakes or critics might turn it into a reality.
