《Rise of Anubis - LitRPG Fantasy(DROPPED)》Ch. 6 Evolution of the Shadows

Next on “to be on a killionare”... I left where I slew...assassinated the bear. It didn’t take long to find my next victim. A very dangerous band of.. rabbits entered into my vision and I just had to pet them a little too hard. It was a quick kill and didn’t take too long. Of course, I’ve hunted quite a lot before and rabbits were never so “cute” to me after seeing their population skyrocket faster than all the hunters of the world banding to together trying to cull them. However, I will say my thanks as free target practice.
…
About an hour later I hunted probably half of the forest around my cave of death and Ice, it didn’t take long to level up to level 62 when consuming the life force also. I’ve found that lifeforce is just regular experience points and that regular gained experience points are just “leftovers”, however this method of leveling also seemed to draw the local animal “boss” towards my location. I guess leaving dried up corpses in a general vicinity leaves a good trail to track me from. Even though this monster has about 10 times more life force then any other creature I’ve found it seems not too dangerous to me. Using Zero to analyze the creatures before killing them led me to the general conclusion that no creature within this forest so far has reached into tier 1 of the level system. This also makes me believe, that leveling is a lot harder than I make it seem. Good thing this upcoming monster, animal, or entity has to be at least tier 1 to be the boss around here.
…
I quickly set up an ambush by creating old fashion leaf pitfall traps, using my hands in the form of drills that seem pretty amazing on dirt and regular stone. Not as good as some of the laser mining drills from the past, however better than any steel diamond-tipped drill that I know so far. I made a pretty big spiked area at the bottom and covered the top in thin twigs, then on top to finish it off, used my shadow domain to make little tentacles that sprung out and grabbed large handfuls by the dozen every few seconds. The monster that seems to be getting closer to my destination is quite large, however, it is also incredibly slow and is taking far longer than any normal strong monster should take.

…
*Rustle* *Rustle* I heard the leaves being pushed aside as a large tortoise monstrosity came into view, it looked almost as if it was both a dragon looking box turtle. It had large nostrils like a catfish and the eyes seem to be completely white. It could be completely blind and relies on both smell and hearing, I thought to myself. It was about to step into the pitfall, however, it seemed to notice something wrong and instead of moving forward it moved a couple of steps back. Then it did the most unbelievable thing… It opened its mouth then spat out a greenish cloud that quickly covered everything in a hundred foot or 30-meter radius. Anything the cloud touches seems to quickly is covered with roots, almost as if an insanely powerful fertilizer was spread through the air and caused weeds and roots to grow. Then its catfish-like nostrils twitched and sent the roots flying everywhere wacking everything. I quickly realized as there must be a big difference when a normal tier 0 is up against a normal tier 1. But I think normal is the best qualifier to describe, I can clearly see the turtle dragon fish, is building an INT and END spec. This will be easy.
…
I glided across the ground, my speed clearly and significantly outmatching the roots that randomly wacking the trees and rocks nearby along with other plant life. My domain spread out just a couple of inches from my self and I sent a decoy to the left of me into a pair roots. All the roots stopped and then sprung all at once onto the decoy as if they found their target. My shadow decoy was just a hardened shadow and was quickly obliterated by the hundreds of spears made out of roots. By then the sacrifice was already regenerated as my mana regen is completely insane and outpaced all my abilities costs combined. I used the moment of confusion to sneak behind the turtle and prepared my kill. I readied up my soul-flame with 2 charges and sent it into the shell of the turtle monster. An explosion rang out and all the roots turned into ash as the turtle was instantly killed by both the cold and internal damage. The turtle was transformed into an ice sculpture of black ice instantly. Then I realized about the life force, Fuck me, I mentally swore. I quickly saw the fading life force and willed it all into my body. The lifeforce of the turtle was amazingly delicious. I could see it had an affinity with nature and assumed that it just made the flavor even better. The lifeforce shot into me until every little bit could be absorbed from the air, however, I decided not to go too crazy and didn’t kill off the plant life with that one … experiment from before.

Level - 110/100, Tier Up Available, Would you like to evolve? (Y/N)
Sweet, time to be even more overpowered I guess, Yes.
Time seemed to slow down around me, the leaves falling from the trees or blowing off the ground seemed to be moving in slow-motion. Black thick lines started to shoot out of the ground around me, then started to moving clockwise. It looked as if a spider was wrapping its prey, It started with my feet until my head. It finished off making a large 12-foot egg of black webbing. However it seemed to not have any ill intentions, it felt familiar to the makeup my body. It was pure darkness, straight from the abyss. Although the egg shape was done, it wasn’t over, cyan flames danced on the surrounding of my egg creating almost a runic looking script that was moving. I knew this script from before, it was what led me to know the importance of souls and the natural cycle. It is cryptic and I could only understand about 80% of it even though thousands of years were spent directly on research. There were new symbols made out of the smooth runic looking lines that I could guess were based on evolution. It was one of the hardest subjects to understand and was what I was working on right before I combined with my other-self. It seems almost to allow me to understand it smoothly as I could see the shapes weaving with itself, it wanted me to know of its existence and lend me its support in knowing its deepest secrets. This went on for another what I assumed as only a couple seconds outside of the time fragment I was in. When it finished another screen appeared.
